Kingdom of Aeraya
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Kingdom of AerayaCooper finished cleaning the closet he had chosen to clean. Upon putting his items away, he decided to go for a walk in town. He was sure that nobody would mind. After all, he had no training with weapons, so he wouldn't exactly be of use if the rumours of the king's assassination were to be true. He stepped outside and walked into town. He heard a commotion, and looked over to see a crowd forming. He walked over to see what was happening.
"So this is one of the princesses, I'm assuming? That explains things a little more," he smirks, oozing confidence, though totally randomly avoiding Kanata's eyes. "Look sweetheart, I'm not out to accuse your father or anything, but don't you think you're a little biased? Is he really the cause of this flourishment all alone, or is it because there's hundreds of people working under him?"
He bows his head a little, now confident enough to send the High Priest at least a little look once or twice. "We, the Vargas brothers (tm) will launch a new ideal world. One where everybody's equal. One where you see the former princes in the bookstore, working along their fellow citizens. There will no more be one ruling man!" He whispers the next bit, "with the exception of us. We'll be taking a little tax. Working on the ideal world idea is kinda tiring, you know."
"If you cannot "acknowledge" the good that has been done upon which you build your own "reformation", then I worry for you." He sighed, shaking his head in disappointment. These children were promising young candidates who had the potential and talent to go far and build many up. Yet at this current point in time, they still hadn't understood what Kanata believed to be the most important part of being a priest, Compassion. In their cold and lonely world, compassion was what made people return to him time and time again, feeling safe and secure in spilling out their hearts for him to gently gather back up and patch it up. Compassion was what made the widow smile again and what brightened up a child's day. To be compassionate was to connect with others not simply through songs and word but also with actions and relations. The two brothers seemed to lack the integral core of what it meant to be a priest in his opinion, their blatant disrespect and self confidence contrary to almost everything which Kanata believed to be a suitable priest.
As Joy herself spoke out, Kanata nodded his agreement as well. Having spoken to the king on multiple occasions, he knew that William was a fair and just man. His magic reflected that clearly and people did say that one's magic reflected a person's true nature.
Either way, he didn't really have a reason to oppose the king. There was no reason to. There had been nothing but prosperity under his rule
Tilting his head, as he pulled his gloves a little further up, he continued to listen inwards as he fiddled with hair once again. He had to see where this was going. Unfortunately....once again, his silver hair made him stick out
The trembling princess stepped out from behind her sister, where she had been hiding from the people who were threatening to ruin her life. She knew it was cowardly of her, of course, what with Joy being her younger sister, but she couldn't help it; she just wasn't that sort of person. Once in their line of view, though, she stood up tall, her hands clenched to hide how much they were shaking. Even if she didn't say anything, she would still help, just by being there. After listening to their conversation, she felt a little more relaxed, knowing that they weren't interested in violence yet - they simply wanted everyone to be equal. Which would've been fine for Esmerelda, had they not added that they would recieave more payment than the 'equal' citizens. Selfish campaigners, who didn't understand the haven that her father had created.
Feliciano pat his brothers head and continued nodding "Yes! Wouldn't you all like to live in a completely fair, just, and equal society? To give control to a person based on just the fact that they were born in the right family at the right time. Absolutely out dated. We offer you all a much better construction in which We, Who Are Totally More Fit For A Leading Job, can bring you all a better leading experience. Please read our terms and service for more information althoughstatementsmaybevague"
He looks to his brother with a certain grin of victory on his lips, talking loudly to deafen all other commotion.
"You seem very strongwilled, princess, and for that, I must commend you. Don't let your mind get overswarmed with gullible thoughts though. Wicked people always have it easiest with those kinds of people, you know."
With one last smile, he puts his hands up in the air and stretches his back. He walks closer to his brother, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You got any last comments to these wonderful people, or should we bust outta here? I don't want to be in the same town as that priest guy anymore, he freaks me out."
Kanata had never been told that he freaked other people out. Sure, his odd behaviour at times and distinctive speech akin to the waves on a beach were unique and were frustrating at worse, but freaked out was new. How interesting. Covering up a light chuckle, Kanata walked back to stand with Joy and Esmeralda and regarded the brothers with thinly veiled amusement. From the gathered crowd, Kanata took stock of who was present, remembering what familiar faces he could. Perhaps at a later time, he would talk with those who had witnessed this event and see if they would be willing to share their thoughts on the brothers and their revolution. A fluffy mop of silver hair caught his eye and Kanata recognized the tell-tale hair of one of the archers present among the crowd. Ashe, was it? Filing that information away for a little bit later, Kanata turned back to face the brothers.
"Apologies if my 'eccentrics' have put you off." He offered without any sign of mockery or ill-will. It was almost like he wasn't phased by any insults directed at him. "Though if you're 'leaving' so soon, I wish you 'safe' travels." Though they were spoken, the simple blessing blanketed the two brothers in the warm embrace of a parent, Kanata's own well-wishes imparted on the two of them as it would have if he had sung his offering of protection

Quill listened intently to the conversation between the townsfolk, feeling the handle of her pocketknife the entire time. Her mind wandered back to her base in the woods where her bow and arrows were, and what masks she had. She pondered in silence, breathing heavily against the mask and feeling her heart quicken. Her back was bent, arms resting on her knees as her wide eyes refused to close. Blood roared in her ears and walls seemed to close in around her. Before she knew what she was doing, she threw her mask on the ground and ran away.

Avery spent the day distributing posters advertising his horses, saying many were fit for combat, for speed and for holding items when you travel. His stable also appeared to sell various horse equipment like lances and armour.
After leaving these, he listened to the townspeople discuss the possible corruption of the King and Queen before leaving, worried, like everyone else may have been.
Noah shook his head. "I'm being stupid. I should probably go see what those papers that my brother dropped were." He said. He got up from the bed and grabbed a change of clothes. He went into the bathroom that was in his room and closed the door. He quickly changed clothes and stared at himself in the mirror.
Cooper looked at all the people who made points and thought. What stupid people, coming here and telling us that. He thought to himself, smiling a little.
Kalinda went and sat down. She nodded and her face turned serious as she prepared for intense concentration.
Feliciano listened with amusement. As much as his brother was afraid of the other priest Feliciano just found pure entertainment- the aura really fit the Vibe. He thought for a minute, tapping his chin, before he came up with a Super Brilliant Smarterest idea
"Look this sounds absolutely insane, which is totally my brand but anyway, what if you were to... tutor me and my brother?" He pointed at the priest with a smug expression that, if he didn't say what he said, it would just look like he had found the culprit of a crime he's been investigating for years. He really thought this was a great idea.
Out of all the questions that he could have gotten, this one made Kanata laugh as he pressed his lips against his hand in a vain attempt to muffle his laughter. These two brothers were like the winds who blew as they pleased, bringing with them uncertain change, he liked it. "If the both of you come to a "mutual" agreement, then yes I'd be more than willing to." He replied, voice twinkling with mirth as his shaking shoulders slowly stilled. "But only if "both" of you "agree" to it. I won't force anyone who doesn't "want" to."
