Valentin stands right where he is. He moves no muscle as his head begins to set off into hyper panic mode. Kalinda doesn't know anything. She's so stupid. Dumb. Idiot. He begins feeling tears forming in his eyes as he decides on one thing in his life for once. He bolts out of the castle. He doesn't know if he can do it - if Opal's magic allows him to, but he decides to close his eyes and just follow through. For once, please, may God have mercy on his soul.

Thea looks around, glancing from side to side. She could've sworn there was someone calling for her. She decides to go back to her usual work of trying to find a Proper Pineapple. Knowing when someone calls your name is magic for losers, and she surely wasn't magical nor a loser.

"There's a circus riiiiight" They spinned and pointed towards the tent that was put up behind them (hopefully idk I have bad spatial awareness) "There." They squinted their eyes while eyeing the circus, humming softly for a quick moment before they turned back to face the Knight lady. They seemed a bit confused about her question following what she said, but eventually remembered about The Threat. "Huh, right! They might've heard about this foreign threat that's plotting to kill the- oops" they went up on their tip toes to whisper to Knight lady "to kill the king" they stood back on their feet "so this farmer girl of yours isn't facing any direct threat for now... you know," their iconic smile was drawn on their face "You should ask her to go to the circus with you or something. Romantic. 😏😏"

They heard an unfamiliar voice greet the Gang and turned around again to look at the source. 'Huh. A stranger. Cool.' Their smile remained on their face, most likely not catching onto the sarcastic tone in the stranger's voice, and waved at them. "Heyyy! who are you. Quick answer." Their expression shifted to one that was slightly more serious.

rosaline recoiled. "the king? but...why?? sure hes kinda weird..i mean. his punishment methods are kinda concerning...but hes a good king!!!" She sighed. "anyway, if they needed my help they would ask me"
she flicked her hair. "obviously farmer girl would not refuse my offer, and then ill propose to her! haha"
she looks down at ava. "...you were joking right?"
she notices charmer doing her thing but she just ignores her lol and continues talking to ava

"Me?" Charmer asks dramatically, quickly looking around to see if Ava could be referring to anyone else. She returns her gaze to Ava. "I am Charmer, the ringleader of this circus." She bows politely. "And you are-?" Charmer stares directly at Ava as she speaks. Almost as if they were the only ones around. She pays no mind to the others, quite usual since one of them was a princess.

Ava puts a hand up, palm facing the ringleader "Hold on," their face changed back to their smile while they turned to reply to the knight lady, as they won't acknowledge each others presence for some unknown reason to Ava "Joking about what? The date? No no you totally should, a circus date is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of event you'd be sweeping her off of her feet ;)))" they ended their claim with a tongue click. 'For the flourish of it all'.

They turned back again to face the self declared ringleader "Uhh... what did you ask aga- RIGHT! Nice to meet you, Charmer" they cleared their throat and wore a serious-ish, or as serious as Ava and their hat can look, face again. Placing one arm behind their back, they continued "I am Cyfrin, but friends call me Ava, but we don't know each other that well yet so don't call me Ava yet. Did I say yet twice?" They stared up at nothing for a moment as if they'd find an answer there, then snapping back "Not important, anyway, I am a person talked about a lot you know, very important to this kingdom actually. The Court Jester, sire- or madam? Or liege? Those are the equivalents right?" It didn't really seem like they were asking anyone but themselves "It's very cool you came by actually we were just talking about that little cirque of yours! Very talk-worthy. Almost as talk-worthy as me."

"Say,Charmer.do you reckon Ava could take part in some of your acts while you're here,if they want to of course. But it would be nice to see them perform something like never before,utilising circus equipment." She interloped as she caught up with the other two,giving Esmeralda a "I hope you saw that" glance. At some point she should go check up on her Mother,whether she discussed with Torik and whatnot but that could wait.

An amused smile slowly grows on Charmer's lips as she listens to Ava speak. She was really beginning to like Ava for some odd reason. She quietly listens to Ava's ramblings. Her heart stops for a moment when Ava mentions how important they are to the kingdom. I know that all too well she thinks to herself darkly. Her smile falters slightly under Ava's casual reminder but reappears just as fast when she hears Joy's question. She was so focused on Ava that she almost misses it.
"Of course they can! I would love for them to take part!" She returns her gaze to Ava. Taking ahold of their hands and meeting their eyes with an excited look. "Oh please say you'll take part!"

Ava seemed to be taken aback for a bit, not expecting the ringleader to even agree to it. They pulled their hands back quickly but contrasted their action with an excited smile on their face. "REALLY? UH ahem. I Mean yea- Yes. But of course." They adjusted themselves, looking at Joy with an 'Oh My God did you hear that.' look before facing Charmer again. "On the topic of thaaat I was thinking, do you guys have like, a clown I can duel? Just to really solidify my rep you know. I'll go easy on them don't worry." They closed their eyes and smirked, the hubris of man.

"I'm sure they won't stand a chance." Charmer opens an arm, gesturing to the open tent behind her. "Feel free to pick one. They are always open to trying something different. Be sure to keep your word though, they already risk enough injury from their acts." Charmer explains. Her heart lifts upon hearing Ava's agreement. This trial run would make their job a lot easier. They had a pretty nasty plan, they were going to do the same thing that they did with every kingdom. Convince the royal jester to leave their kingdom behind and join them. It didn't happen often, but it happened enough times that they could throw this circus. Every person in the circus expect Charmer was a former jester.

"D-Duel? You mean a jester show-off,right? Not physical combat,right?" she worriedly asked Charmer. "Right now? Why don't we wait until the start of the circus? Doesn't that sound better,with more people watching?" The circus world and lowbrow entertainment in general was something Joy was quite unfamiliar with. She didn't have a lot of chances to watch performances in the past.

"Hmm, it's quite up to Ava. Admittedly that would be a great show to see. Perhaps we should wait?" She asks, turning to Ava to see what she thought. It wouldn't take long to organize, they were always prepared to add in a surprise show.

"You never know, Princess, a jester-off can always turn physical" they said, matter-of-fact-ly, then turning their head around to try and look at the castle for a moment "I think Joy- her Majesty? Makes a good point" they bring their head back to face the group "Knight lady over here should bring her date, I'd really help wingperson it you know, charms and all that. And I'd also like to maybe uh" their demeanor shifted slightly on the more bashful side, a very rare state to see them in "Invite a friend. Too. They have got to see me be super cool and all that, they can't miss it, they'd be too upset" they coughed and fixed their posture.

"Then, make sure you do whatever you can so as not to harm each other!" she paused for a bit. "Your friend would definitely not want to see you get hurt,isn't that right?" she added while smirking about hearing Ava's request. She was almost certain who that friend might be.

She was however somewhat dumbfounded when she also heard Ava bring up some date of Rosaline but she tried not to seem too curious.

rosaline ignored avas remarks. "ava, are you really going to fight someone?... listen, im not gonna arrest whoever kills you...sorry mate." she turns around to joy, still ignoring avas remark. "well. im sure theyll like the circus but... agh."
rosaline looks at joy. "say, should i bring them here? i mean. not a date. we only met today. but. um." she awkwardly fixes her sword, but still making sure that charmer has a chance to see that the knight is fully equipped to deal with any...circumstances

Joy, having absolutely no experience with such matters, was utterly perplexed,so she opted for the most optimal answer. "Bringing them along would allow you to converse and get to know each other better,would it not? I say you should invite them,but you're free to do as you please." She then began daydreaming about princes and other boys from neighbouring kindgoms her Father could arrange something with but fat chance...especially not during such a crisis. She somehow wasn't envious about Esmeralda and Timothy,her dear sister definitely deserved such a capable man. Sure they're not a couple or dating but Joy was certain they had feelings for each other.

"I am quite certain they'd be admiring my devotion to my work, simply" they put on a weird accent to match the 'posh way Joy spoke', or at least the way she seemed to speak to them, then stuck their tongue out like a Child. Ava never really caught onto the fact that they wouldn't get away with acting like this around a Literal Royal Child in any other kingdom, probably.

I'm mostly posting this due to Aeraya's anniversary taking place a couple days ago. I honestly missed this SO much. I'd actually die from laughter if this post actually revived it but I'd die a happy man.

Joy snickered and flicked Ava's forehead,picking up her altered tone poking fun at the way Joy spoke. "That much is true. Truth be told,it has been quite a while since you last put on a show,right? The people would absolutely love it!" Ava would no doubt fit in there like a glove. "Well,I think that settles it." Joy looked over at Charmer,waiting for confirmation. Her kind and gentle aura became a bit more eerie as she forced a smile on her face, almost as if canceling out any other option or answer Charmer had.
