Slowly he unclenched his fists, the meat of his palm stinging where blunt nails had dug into the pale skin. "Right..." Letting out a breath, he ran a hand down his face. Damn it, what was he thinking getting mad like that? "More importantly, are you okay? Was there anything urgent?" He inquired, his voice betraying his exhaustion as he peered at Joy who seemed to be slightly short of breath
Rubbing his temples, Elliot let out a sigh. He really couldn't blame Noah for just- leaving like that. In all honesty, he really wanted to do the same but his guilty conscience nagged him to stay put an attempt to be present in the conversation. "Unfortunately, my weakness lies within magical knowledge. So, uh, I'm not sure what these are." Taking one of the coins bearing his face, he turned it over to analyze it. His eyes flicked over to Noah and another sigh pulled itself from his lips. "Noah, I'll be taking that work back. Evidently, you aren't in any condition to work." He called, a wry smile attempting to tug itself over his lips

Business was slow; which was troubling. Avery’s horses seemed to tick between restless and resting like a ticking metronome. Eyes on the ground and one hand on one of his dear friends’ heads, his eyebrows lowered in thought. He scratched the side of his head, grey-brown flakes of hair dropping to the floor. He looked away.

Marigold was in the garden, as usual. She’d stayed here more than usual, urging her family to stay too. Her arms and legs were also covered in grazes and bruises, presumably from growing flowers, which looked brighter and crispier than they otherwise would. Her eyes were on a crimson tulip, slowly emerging from its comfortable bud. Colour dripped from the green cocoon as petals sprouted like blood from a wound. Namely, her wound. She fell back and saw a small cut on her arm, which she smeared away as she stood up.
It slightly impressed him that Noah was refusing him and the little seed of doubt that had been slowly growing within him was quickly snuffed out. If he was so confident that he could finish the work then he'd let him and cheer him on privatly. I'm going to need a drink after today he thought slightly ruefully as he absentmindedly flicked the coin out of habit. Perhaps it was the building stress or it was the sheer wildness of today, but Elliot had the inexplicable need to simply sit down swathed in blankets and gingerly sip on mead. Drawing himself out of the brief daydream, Elliot cleared his throat slightly and nodded politely to Noah and Ava. "If you don't mind, then we'll be in your care." He said smoothly, inclining his head.
Mimicking the motion, Elliot rolled the command over his tongue slightly oblivious to the guardian which spilled forth from the coin. A searing warmth nearly made him drop the coin but before it could hit the ground, a pair of chains burst forth. A cut off yelp was all that escaped his mouth before darkness swallowed him whole, Elliot's arms instinctively coming up to protect his face. The soft brush of feathers over his body had him opening eyes he had unintentionally squeezed shut, daring to take a peek at whatever had been summoned. A single burning ball of flame, glowing a hollow blue from the heat, stared back at him encased in yellowed bone.
He absolutely didn't scream but he did make an embarrassing sound in the back of his throat as black wings unfurled before his eyes. Towering over him was a hauntingly entrancing raven, its skull devoid of any feathers of flesh yet the cracked skull inspired a sense of safety and power. Wordlessly gaping at the large creature, Elliot suddenly realized that the guardian took up most of the hallways space, its wings tucked uncomfortably but its side as rolls of rusted chains bound its body. "Uh... Tirik? How... do I unsummon it?" He asked with a nervous chuckle
