Noah continued running through the halls, smiling when he heard buckets dropping. He continued running until he slowed at the Silly Chamber.
"You brought yourself, don't you know yer kind ain't allowed here?" they changed their accent to a more southern one midway to add to the spice. They slowly reached into their glitter bag as a threat. "wanta make an agreement eh?"
The room was dim and very stuffy; the heavy black clothing that Scarlet makes the Ring wear doesn't help too much either. Ace swears that his clothing is damp right now from his constant sweating, but it could also be his imagination. Every time Ace breathed in he nearly choked on a mouthful of dust. Jeez, how long has it been since anyone came in here? Ace wonders as he cautiously strolls around the tiny tavern. Unsurprisingly, their two targets were supposed to come here. This was a common spot for outlaws to meet up. That's what Scarlet had told him at least, but it was clear that nobody had been here in years. He swipes a finger along a table and gives a disgusted groan from the heavy layer of dust that appears on his gloved finger. He coughs again and grimaces from the taste of dust that cakes his tongue. He would kill to be able to open up a window right now, to at least let in a bit of airflow to cool the room, but that would mean potentially giving away his position. So Ace, rather unhappily, waits.
.....
Scarlet waits outside of the tavern. From looking at her, you would think she is asleep. She has her whole body pressed against the wall and her head is hung low. She has decided against wearing her usual attire. She wears a simple dress and has a few empty bottles of alcohol scattered at her feet. She reeks of the scent of alcohol, but she isn't drunk. No matter, she has a feeling that her targets won't notice. She waits, alert for any sounds. If her prediction is right, two outlaws will soon make their way down the alleyway and into the tavern. Their plan is simple, she'll distract them and lead them inside. Her and Ace will knock out the outlaws, inform the knights and go home a few coins richer. But that's not enough for you? Is it? Scarlet thinks to herself with a scoff. Her fingers graze over the badge in her pocket and she almost laughs out loud. With earning this badge, you have promised your full alliance to the crown, blah, blah, blah, they were fools for trusting her, but she couldn't do anything about it just yet. She was like a cobra waiting to strike and boy, did she want to bite. No... the time will come and soon I'll be queen, I'll just have to be patient Scarlet thinks to herself with a grin. Her grin disappears when she hears footsteps approaching. Here we go...
The Princess was, in fact, awake; only daydreaming, sat in front of her elegantly gilded mirror, trapped in a world of her own. She sighed, barely noticing the knocks on her door, and the voices outside, instead hearing only the beautiful voices of Angels in her head. Eventually, though, she realised that people were speaking her name from behind her door, so arose, her green eyes searching her own face in the mirror. Turning, she strode to the door, which she opened silently, her small frame appearing at the entrance.
Today, she wore a dress of royal blue, with the same brochure as always pinned to the neck. It fitted her extremely well, showing off her hourglass build, though the scarf around her neck concealed all of this slightly. She very much disliked the dresses picked out for her, but put up with them, for the sake of her family's legacy.
Upon seeing her sister, the girl grinned. "Joy!" She called, wrapping her sister in a tight hug.
The slowly rising sun crested over the window sill of the royal library, illuminating dozens of well cared for bookshelves. As the morning light crawled over the polished floors, the library's sole inhabit put down a heavy time with a think and stretched out wary limbs. Elliot sighed, glancing out one of the many windows which lined the library walls. How long had he been holed up here, he wondered letting out a yawn. On the table before him stood towering stacks of books and material, balanced precariously a top one another.
A large weighted blanket slipped off the second prince's shoulders as he rose from his seat, replacing all the books he had borrowed back onto their proper shelves. Covering up a second yawn, Elliot tidied up the space in which he had been occupying, folding up the blanket and blowing out a candle that had melted beyond any use. By the time he had finished reorganizing the library, the castle was already bustling with sound and life as he could hear servents scurrying around and voices raised in conversation.
Draping the blanket over one arm, Elliot opened the door of the library to greet the servants but before he could do so, a bucket of water unceremoniously dumped its contents all over him.
The city was a beautiful as always, Kanata thought to himself as he idly strolled along the busy streets to arrive to work. Around him, citizens greeted him like and old friend and in return, Kanata returned those greetings and for some who desired it, he stopped for a few words of pleasant conversation. This was Kanata's daily life, this he arrived at the small chapel before it was due to open with a smile on his face.
As Kanata prepared for the coming day, he hummed happily to himself fingers defly unbuttoning his shirt as he changed into more appropriate clothes for worship. To whom he would be offering the worship to would vary for each person, but if it was by Kanata's guess, today would be quite the peacefully busy day. Just like any other.
And Kanata wouldn't have it any other way
"Who'r'you?" She asks, her words come out sounding like a drunken slurr. "Oh!" She stands up straighter and gives them a goofy smile. "You own the tavern!" She points at them, and takes a step forward, stumbling forward but fortunately being caught by one of them.
"Do we have time for this?" A new voice-the man who had caught her, asks as he rights Scarlet up. He keeps a steady hand on her forearm as he watched the other unlock the tavern.
"Bring her in, she'll just draw attention to us, besides, she has seen our faces so we can't let her leave alive." There is a familiar feeling that Scarlet feels when she comprehends his threat. It's not fear, that feeling has left her years ago, it's excitement. A cool blade is pressed against Scarlet's throat, she fights the amused giggle that threatens to rise. The pressure of the blade was weak, even hand looked slightly limp. He had no desire to kill her just yet. Not a surprise, to their knowledge, she was alone and drunk, far from a threat. Scarlet allows the man to haul her inside and the moment the door shuts, they strike. Ace taking the man who was holding her and Scarlet taking the one who threatened her. Their targets were caught off guard, they didn't even have time to draw their weapons. Both Scarlet and Ace don't need weapons, but they draw them anyway to ensure that they don't fight back. It's over in seconds and the two are left standing over their unconscious bodies. They exchange a look, both trying to read the other.
"You smell like death" Scarlet whines as she fans the air.
"You don't smell much better, you old drunk" Ace jokes. To his luck, Scarlet laughs at the joke and leaves the tavern, giving Ace time to stare daggers into her back. You are a bloody snake, who needs to be beheaded Ace screams in his head as he follows close behind her.
Cooper looked up from his mopping to see a bucket fall onto one of the princes and splash water all over the floor. He carefully began to mop the water puddle that was forming where he had just cleaned.
The girl's smile widened as she was pulled into Joy's embrace, then eyed the Knight with a sort of admiration - knights had a certain skill, she thought, that made them into the stuff of legends. Not that she ever wanted to be one; that life would be far too challenging for her likes.
"Sounds good!" She chirped, her face lighting up with the sunlight pouring through the windows. Her mother and father would be out for their walk at this time, she knew, so the children had the castle to themselves. It was obvious that Noah was already awake; there were watermarks dotted around the floor, evidence of another of his numerous pranks. At this, she let out a good-natured sigh.
"What's Noah done this time?" She asked, her high-pitched voice resonating throughout the corridors.
