"Free's always a good price, so if you can really hold what you promise... then I see no issue!"
Thea beams at her father, but of course he always has to add another word. "Take care of little Thea here, 'Darling Rosaline', will you please? I ain't gonna stay here and keep guard over such a brilliant young lady if she's capable of managing herself."
"Don't act like you're such a victim, coward," Lovino says. He takes out a map from his coat. "We should probably go to the town hall or whatever. Middle of city. Shouldn't be able to not spot us there." He grins mischeviously.
"I am but a simple troubled artist, you'll never know how it feels," he fake sniffs just to add that bit of flavor, taking a peek at the map "Ooh didn't know you were this smart though" he clapped in amusement, following his brother.
rosaline salutes and steps back to give the daughter and father some privacy. " ill give you some space"
she begins to look at different stalls,... maybe she wanted some watermelons.
Thea looks at Rosaline before she's a good while away, turning her head at her father again, tears beginning to form in her eyes. "Do you really think I can handle it in the city?" She says, leaning into her dad who embraces her with open arms.
"Of course you can, elskling." He comforts her, petting her head.
"What if I get lost and never find my way home?" She asks, now crying louder. She tugs her father's coat and holds it for as long as she possibly can before it hurts her fingers too much. He kisses the top of her head. "You won't. You have a strong sense of direction, I know that."
"What if I get killed?" She whispers, terrified of her own question. At that, he pauses and laughs. "Didn't you have a knight friend? I doubt someone will ever dare hurt you."
She smiles, most doubts cleared from her mind. "Thanks, dad."
"Thank you for praising my intelligence again, even though it is really not needed as I am well aware," he flips his hair. "But again, thank you anyways."
He marks a spot in the map and shows it to his companion. "Here, it would be wisest to be here. Still too long from the castle for many guards to be present, but still close enough so that people can actually hear us. You in?"
Sitting within the library, surrounded by work and books, Elliot sat hunched over the oaken table that served as the room's main centrepiece. Flipping through the reports, he rubbed his eyes at the schedule laid out before him. Circled under the current timeslot read "Royal Spies" and that made his head hurt. He wasn't well versed in espionage but if it was a royal affair then Elliot felt unease building up in his gut.
With a sigh, he threw the report over his schedule and turned to another folder which he combed through. Out of sight, out of mind, he thought ruefully to himself. The kingdom's economy was doing fairly well, with certain things selling better than others in this particular season. Trade was also doing well and relations with neighbouring kingdoms seemed strong enough. One kingdom did spark slight worry within him as he read about the current turmoil and strife the kingdom having in retaining mutually beneficial relations. Noting that down on a separate pad of paper, Elliot stood up and walked towards the section of the library dedicated to history books documenting other kingdoms and pulled one of them off the shelves.
Thumbing through the book, Elliot plucked off a few other books and carried them back to his seat and made himself comfortable. Elliot didn't exactly like reading about the economy, the finer points of the trade business being lost on him, but if he was going to help out the kingdom, starting from basic fundamentals such as this would build a strong kingdom.
