I actually never resetted the game or hunted for any specific pokemon - mainly because I play on emulators and you cannot trade there so they get stuck in one save file :(

I was playing Heartgold and I was in the Safari Zone when a shiny Lickitoung appeared. I was like "Holy Pickles!" and threw the poke ball. But the stupid thing ran away, leaving me to drown our car in tears.

In White I have a shiny Gardevoir, Ampharos, and a Braviary.

I'm not a lucky person, I have never seen many legit shinies.
My first is nothing exciting, it was the red gryadose that all players get in Silver/Gold/Crystal.

I believe the first legit shiny that I actually captured was a Machop in Leaf Green in Victory Road. Others I have captured are a shiny Zubat in one of my Rubies that is now a Golbat (or is it Emerald?) and a Shiny Sneasel in Platinum. I also have a shiny Machoke evolved from a shiny Machop in Soul Silver.
Somewhat recently I also captured a shiny Gastly upon restarting my Crystal but the time was lagged which I was told was a sign of the battery dying, so that was a short lived bit of luck. XP

I've actually also run into several that I did not capture because I either accidentally KOed them or did not recognize them as Shiny. :P

First Shiny that I have found was on my White. it was a Shiny Boldore. I have deleted that save game (i did know what was shiny pokemon then) Second Shiny was on my Soulsilver it was a shiny Swinub (traded away XC) And I softreseted a Shiny Suicune on it but I killed it >.<. Fourth Shiny is in my White 2 Its a shiny Sneasel and noew its a Shiny Weavile I love it! I named it Neyla :3 And fifth Shiny was foongus on my X (encountered it on horde battleand I have traded it away)

So the only one that I have is:

My first shiny was a random Ducklett in White. He's a Swanna now.
My second was a random Basculin, in the same game. Male, too.
My third was a Ponyta, which was actually found by my sister. The Ponyta was female, and was found in SS. She's now a Rapidash.
My fourth was a random, male, Geodude. He's now a Golem, and found in SS.
My fifth, and final (For now... >_<), was a Sentret in the Safari Zone in SS. Luckily, I caught her. I was panicking... Now a Furret.
My real first shiny, though, was that Red Gyarados. I have too many of them...

I'm currently hunting a shiny Suicune. It's taking ages. D:

WhiteAndBlack2 how does one soft reset a shiny Suicune when it's a random encounter? Or is it not in Soul Silver? I haven't finished it yet.

It's not a random encounter. Suicune, unlike Raikou and Entei, is a standing encounter once you meet it enough times in specific places.

Also I forgot to mention I have soft reset in a few games for shiny starters but it never works. When I first begun Soul Silver I did it for an entire week going for a shiny Chikorita but it was in vein and I got tired of it. Ironically I erased that file after Goldenrod as I no longer liked my trainer name which was based on my Twilight obsession which ended last year. That and I now favor Cyndaquil and regretted Chikorita.
I've also done it in Emerald and currently still in the lab being waited on to make my choice in Fire Red as I had been going for a shiny Bulbasaur. Once again no result.

I think my first shiny was a Wobbuffet that I ran across in my Sapphire game, in the Safari Zone. That game was my first ever experience with the Pokemon games, so I really didn't know what I was doing. My friend, who was younger and even less experienced with Pokemon, told me that it was a glitch and to run. And I listened. ;~:

Fortunately, it wasn't that much later when I came upon a shiny Wurmple. At the time, I wasn't really playing attention. I didn't even see that it was different, since the my old DS screen wasn't the best. But I caught a little flash of the sparkle animation and thought "why the heck not?" I wanted it to be a silcoon, but I ended up with Cascoon and a Dustox, instead. I still loved it, even though I have no idea what happened to that save file.

I caught a shiny Bellsprout in LeafGreen. I trained it to be in my team, and evolved it all the way to Victreebel. Then I ended up giving the game to someone who was a friend at the time, and he deleted the save file right away.

I've also picked up a shiny Geodude in Emerald, but I deleted the save file it was in not that long after since I really didn't care for the Geodude line. (I now regret that decision.)

Annnd...In FireRed I found a male Nidoran in the Safari Zone. I actually caught it, and it's still on that same game file, now a Nidoking. I'm going to make my way to the Pal Park in my Diamond game sooner or later, and transfer it out.

Aside from the usual Red Gyarados, I think that's it for the older games. Now, Pokemon X is a different story. I've been so lucky with that game! I currently have nine shinies, from Masuda Methoding, the Pokeradar, and one that was randomly found. Here's the list:

The only shiny I EVER legitimately saw that wasn't the red gyarados or from chain fishing (the new method in XY) was a shiny patrat in my white version. Sadly I accidentally fainted it and it was a nuzlocke run anyways :(

my first shiny was a pidgey in leafgreen and some moments later a shiny spearrow they were erased i don t know why.
then the shiny gyrados fron soulsilver i have it on pokemon black
one shiny snourunt in emerald but it was erased
a shiny venasur from trade that it is in pokemon black
and in pkemon x because of fishing on chain : shiny polwhiwir , shiny bascuilin red , shiny gyrados and shiny ludvisc.

edit now i have a shiny yanma on pokemon x

Red gyarados aside...

My first shiny was a machop in Gold. As for a full list of shinies...

From... one or another of the 1st-gen games; I forget which: Ditto (But needless to say, I mimic-tricked that one into being, so they kind of don't count, heh.)
From Gold: Machop

From Ruby: Groudon
From Sapphire: Zubat, Spheal
From Y: Relicanth

My first ever shiny was a Hoppip in Soul Silver. I think I deleted my profile but I wish I hadn't because now I want to evolve him since shiny Jumpluff looks so adorable.

I haven't been lucky with the shinies until Pokemon X where I got a Pumpkaboo, Hoothoot, Mareep, and Ducklett. All of which I haven't evolved.

I haven't gotten a shiny randomly.. All my shiny's I have are through a app... Hopefully though, sooner or later I'll find one :T
