“Celine Elyanna Lux. You can just call me Cel, or Ely. I’m fine with that. Nice to meet you, Elle. And Madness, or Emma. Whichever you prefer. I’m the City of God’s resident healer, though I recently transferred here for less….stressful work.” She shakes Elle’s hand, smiling warmly at the trio of girls.

They seemed decently nice enough. Even if Elle was a villain. She still wasn’t too sure about Logic, but if Madness and Truth trusted him enough to view him as leader, then honestly who was she to complain?

Celine briefly tuned out Emma and Elle, taking out a small whistle and blowing, letting out a piercing chirp. After a while of staring into the horizon, Fayth and Kai came bounding through the sky, shimmering figures with vague shape and form coming closer and closer. They crashed straight through her, causing her to stumble backwards a bit and roll her eyes.

“Logic, Madness, Elle? Meet my familiars- sort of.”

"Wonderful to meet you! And, please, only my enemies call me Madness. You can call me Emma! Or Em. Or Emmaline. But nobody calls me Emmaline."

Emma eyed the familiars curiously.

"Ooh! What are these things supposed to be? They're awfully, uh, vague."

Logic grumbled under his breath. His mood seemed to have visibly worsened ever since Madness came here.

“They’re entities, come to life because they house my soul fragments. They have no specific shape or form. That’s Fayth, and that’s Kai” She points to them, scooping them up and holding her familiars up to Emma. Kai seemed happy to meet someone new, immediately jumping out of Celine’s hands and onto Emma’s shoulders. “Kai…it’s not very nice to do that. Sorry, Emma.”

"Ehehe~! I don't mind! They're really quite cute."

Emma gently pats Kai.

"Look at you, you cute little amorphous ball of soul fragments. You're really quite a sweetheart, aren't you?"

Emma laughed. How ironic that the one named 'Madness' seemed to most mentally stable out of the three.

Logic sighed.

"Madness, keep it d-"

he was cut off by Emma poking him on the nose.

"I told you, Arty, it's Emma. Or are you too old to call me Em?"

Artemis sighed.

"...I f@#!ing hate you."

"I know!"

Truth's door opened up into a bustling street... once more, in the City of Prosperity.

The sound of music caught her ear, as she glanced around for the source.

She sighed, tying her long, black hair into a ponytail, glancing around.

"...mmfh... !#@$ing logic, forcing me to do all the hard work..."

If the busker had only paid a little more attention, then perhaps he would have seen a woman stepping into existence, shrouded in ire and frustration. But alas, the music had as much of a hold on him as the captive audience, a slave to the dragging bow and echoing haunts. As even the mournful draw of a tune's end couldn't dislodge its embedded claws, forcing the player into yet another rondo of music and revelry. The red shoes that led bare feet skipping across prosperous lands and gouged blisters deep into porcine skin yet the hauntingly alluring tunes continued to embrace the musician in its all encompassing compassion.

A flash of gold very nearly jarred him out of his dizzying spiral of acrobatics and showmanship, paired with dark hair that almost glowed purple under the graceless sun. A name rested on the tip of the busker's tongue as steady fingers slipped down a discordant scale only to arise to new wings but it was all quickly dashed as hair long enough to be pulled up into a simple ponytail (he had always hated having hair that went anywhere past the shoulders, said it always got in the way of a quick getaway) and features much to foreign to match a long lost friend flitted past his vision. This was just another ghost that lingered much too close.

Truth glanced around, noticing the busker.

She sighed, in frustration, walking towards him.

She tapped the busker on the shoulder.

"Oi, Mister. Are you Mister ... ehh... 'he who blooms spidering lillies...'? Huh. What does that mean?"

Truth read off of a sheet of paper, before rolling it up into a ball, and shoving her hands in the pockets of her hoodie.

"I'm Truth. Would you give me a few minutes to talk? I need to recruit you... or something."

The discordant screech of a violin bow brought an abrupt halt to the music, the busker almost tripping over his feet when he whipped around to only meet the golden eyes of someone who reminded him too much of an old friend. Seeing that Truth wouldn't drop the matter easily, he sighed and swept up the still mostly empty cup off the side of the street. Rattling it around, he frowned but dropped the vessel carelessly, not even seeming shocked when it simply dissolved in a shower of blue sparkles.

"Names should not be spoken so carelessly. You should know more than anyone." He grumbled, tugging his cloak tight around him. The violin whose strings looked more than a little frayed followed the almost empty bowl of tips into nothingness as he pushed himself away from the crowds trusting the weird interloper to follow to a more secluded area with less ears against the walls. "Seraph will suffice for now. Speak, though I doubt I could help with any problem that requires someone of your caliber to seek aide."

"Awright then, Mister Seraph. Like I said, name's Truth. You seem to know who I am, or at least my level of poer, so I can skip that part. Basically, my boss said to, uh, enlist your services."

Truth, yawned.

"There's a huge wave of monsters that destroyed the City of Wisdom(before Emma blew it up) and we need more manpower. Would you like to come with me and meet my boss?"

They were fighting like children, not caring who saw them. Emma and Arty, Logic and Madness. Theirs was a relationship that reminded her all too much of hers before the fall. Luce and Kendo and Athena and Violet and Foxglove-

She sat down on the stone, something twisting in her chest. Like the duck, she projected a cool and calm exterior, effortlessly gliding through the water. But underneath, she was a torrent of emotions, slowly being drained as she kept them under wraps, her webbed feet kicking incessantly.

"Once the rest are here, where will we go?" Elle could only imagine. Wisdom to fight Monsters? God to torture her just a little bit more?
It was never meant to be.

"I don't think there is a soul that hasn't heard of such tragedy." Seraph intoned, deadpan and more than a little unimpressed. Though the city was small, lives had been lost. Knowledge, physical, oral, and metaphorical, was lost. It almost felt like a re-creation of how the City of God once burned under its own grandeur, Knowledge plundered by an unknown disaster that only now made itself known. "But I fail to see why you'd need my help. You say you need manpower yet you seek it from a street performer."

Though, with the casual delivery of a name that only few knew the existence of, he had no doubt that the truth, spoken from the mouth of a girl not much younger than him, would come out. But if manpower was what they wanted, Seraph wasn't quite the warrior or healer that they perhaps may want. Though the way that Truth spoke had him thinking. Why more manpower? The city was already in ruins, any survivors fleeing to greener fields. "You believe there will be another attack." He guessed, tilting his head in thought before elaborating. "And on Prosperity specifically." The proof was in the slummed hospitals that had been hastily set up in the ghastly outskirts interspersed by corpses of inhuman proportions

"Correctamundo! My boss, Logic, said that there's gonna be more an' more comin' out."

She sighed, her hands idly playing with a lock of her raven-black hair.

"I don' know why my boss chose you, but then again, I don't know why my boss does anything he does. He just said that he thought your powers were... eh, I think the word was... 'unique'?"

"Oh my, what a flatterer. I'm unique, she says!"

Seraph rolled his eyes though if it was at the comment or at the voice that rung like clear bells, only he knew. Others would just assume the former, Her voice shrouded to anyone who listened. "Mother, please..." He sighed, contemplating the situation. It wouldn't be the worst if he went along just to see if he could get some new information and he could always retreat safely if it ever came down to it but he didn't like the idea of jumping into a team even if it was to save the world. The last time he did... well, Seraph wasn't the best at working with others in general. Still, "Very well. I can entertain you if only for a moment." He acquiesced, flipping his own hood up. It shrouded any features that he had, leaving only the faintest glimmer of red eyes.

Truth nodded. With her index finger, she drew a rectangle in the air, and a door appeared. She twisted the doorknob, opening it.

Logic glanced over at Truth and Seraph.

"Ah, it's you. And Mr. Seraph, correct? Come on through, we're on a tight schedule."

Stepping through, Seraph felt a shiver run through him at the connection of power that linked the two locations together. He dipped into an almost mocking bow towards the assembled figures, unease prickling at his skin. "Charmed, though not at the fact that you seem to already know my name." He noted dryly, Mother purring in agreement in the back of his head. "Logic, I suppose. Mind explaining why I was approached and not someone more suited to saving the world?"

"I thought we talked about this before, Lily." Mother chided and Seraph could feel Her looking through his eyes and raking Logic up and down. Her assessment must have yielded results as she slipped into place beside his consciousness. "Only make judgements after hearing the other out. This young one seems more than willing to, he may be worth listening to."

"He Who Blooms Spidering Lillies... what an interesting person, you are."

Logic stood up from hsi seat, smiling.

Emma was too preoccupied with talking to the others to pay attention to Artemis.

Truth was off to the side, very awkward the moment she saw Emma.

He walked over to Seraph and the closing portal, extending a hand.

"Wonderful to meet you. I'm Logic. And you were approached because I know your work quite well, and I'm something of a fan."

Celine, sensing the awkwardness radiating off Truth, leaves Emma to play with her familiars, as Fayth joins Kai to play atop Emma’s head and shoulders, swatting at each other playfully, sometimes falling right through Emma’s body only to scramble back up hurriedly and apologetically. Emma’s word choice of “amorphous” seemed to have triggered a reaction, causing Fayth to stand up huffily and take the form of a human, before returning back to her usual undefined form.

Celine stands beside Truth, quietly asking, “You alright, dear? Something on your mind?” Celine’s eyebrows creased and she pursed her lips in concern, casting a look of concern over to the girl. Sure, Truth may be a powerful girl, but by the looks of her, and her personality, Celine could probably safely bet that she was younger than herself. Celine’s hands glow gold, flickering softly as she hums to herself. The feeling is almost comforting, as if a mother was embracing their child.

"I'm sure." Seraph rolled his eyes. taking the hand in a firm handshake just as a courtesy. "Then I assume you know my resume better than I do?" Of course he had heard whispers about a group known as the Three Monarch, bearing epithets that correlated to abilities beyond the human comprehension but they almost existed as throwaway rumors with no credence. He assumed this Logic person knew that he had only ever worked in one team before and even that was a special once in a lifetime thing.

"I'm not much of a team player, you should know that, yes? I don't exactly stick around to see what happens next."

"...Uh, y-yeah, yeah. I'm... okay. I'm fine!"

Her voice cracked slightly, as Truth hurriedly glanced away from Emma, smiling.

"I- uh, I'm okay. I'm fine."

Her golden eyes were slightly unfocused, glancing around nervously.

Logic smiled.

"Oh, I know everything. Do not worry, Seraph, I won't force you to do... anything against your will."

He paused in the middle of his sentence.

"I'm not a villain, after all. I'm just a man who wants to, ah, help the world."

Staring him down, Seraph couldn't ping any falsehoods, or at least any that Logic deemed to be. Helping the world, that was what Abyss had painted himself as? Though a villain, he was one that had believed himself to be doing good. While Seraph neither agreed nor disagreed with his methods, it was eerie how Logic seemed to be mirroring such sentiments. However, Mother seemed to disagree, Her wisdom and council pointing that if this man truly knew everything there was to know, then they wouldn't be standing here. Something would have happened already, something that would have forced other players on this convoluted chess board to move in accordance and in opposition to whatever machinations the universe deemed fitting.

"Fine, I'll bite. What do you need me for? Healing? Assassinations? Or you seek Her council, however ludicrous that may be."

"Haha, Her council? No, I don't need anything like that. I just found your particular skillset quite... interesting Of course, my, ah, team, is a little deprived of healing, specifically for Madness, the pink-haired one over there. my teammates tend to get hurt quite often."

Logic looked away, fiddling with his drone's controls.

"Sh!t. Lost connection..."

he glanced back up at Seraph, smiling.

"Plus, from what I've seen of the City of Wisdom after it as destroyed, and before Madness blew it up, that place... well, it's not exactly... earth."
