He pulled his headphones off.
"Tell me, how are you doing? I really am a fan of your work, you know?"
Truth drew a door in the air, stepping out into...
a hospital lounge.
Neat.
The door disappeared behind Truth.

Then she glanced up again. She stared at Truth properly, then at the closing portal thing behind her. And then she screamed.
She nearly toppled off her seat, cursing before apologising to no one in particular. “Why the— How…What? Never mind. You want a cup of tea? Coffee? Juice?” Celine asks, promptly getting up, bustling about with the kettle and laying out two cups. She put a teabag in one- peppermint, it seemed, and let it steep, stirring it every now and then. She turns to lean against the counter, calming herself before asking. “Unimportant questions aside, why did you come here?”
Truth tilted her head slightly.
she glanced around.
"Woooow. What is this place? A hospital?"
Truth whistled.
"Nice to meet you! I'm Truth!"
Truth extended a hand to Celine, smiling cheerfully.
The tips of her index finger and thumb were charred black.

Truth yawned, gratefully taking the orange juice.
"You're Miss Celine, right? It's a pleasure. My friend's been watching your abilities. He's a bit of an ability fanatic. And by that, I mean a bats**t insane mad scientist. But as you probably know, the City of Wisdom was collapsed the other day by a horde of monsters."
Truth talked far too quick.

She flexed her hand, clenching it into a fist.
Burn marks ran across parts of her hand and arm.
"It doesn't hurt much, so I'll be okay. And the scientist is a guy named Logic, diagnosed sociopath, yet surprisingly effective scientist and commander."
She shrugged.
"and yes, we do need a medic."

Truth stopped talking, took a sip of the juice, before continuing on.
"Anywho, Mr. Leader-Logic-man used his fancy ability analysis drone to find you! He asked me to come find you to recruit you since he thought he liked your abilities!"

Celine asks, clearing up now. She first tosses the leftover biscuits to Kai, who opened up a huge mouth out of nowhere and swallowed the food. She then cleaned the kettle, plate and her teacup, before drying them on the rack.
She pauses to contemplate Truth’s next bit of words, “So he thinks I’m useful? Eh. Probably only in the healing area. I do have other powers, but they’re not all that powerful. But…I guess I’m in?”
Truth sighed.
"We weren't related by blood, but he was still my brother. But I have no ties to him anymore."
Truth finished her glass of juice.
"You're in? Awesome! Come with me!"
Truth drew a door in the air, opening it. It opened out onto the rooftop where Logic and Elle were.
Logic was saying something.
"Running away for atonement? You would get along great with a person I know."
Something crackled through his headset, as Logic's grin got wider.
"Blow it up, Madness."
[Meanwhile, in the Ruined City of Wisdom]

Emma was always the outsider.
Not that she minded, of course. Being an outsider was fun. Nobody was able to criticize or judge her for what she did.
No one was there to hold her back.
For years, she wandered the streets of God, before she met a peculiar trio.
A man who called himself Reform, a boy who called himself Logic and a girl who called herself Truth.
The man was the brawns of the operations, but by no means stupid. Reform's arms were riddled with burns, and his body was scarred and bruised, yet he continued fighting for a world that could shine brighter than the current world.
Emma idolized Reform. She thought he was the coolest man on earth. It was just a shame what he did soon after.
The boy was the brains. Logic. He was the smartest guy Emma had ever seen, able to perform hundreds of calculations at once. He was like a living computer, and that intrigued her.
Emma broke through Logic's emotionless shell, and found a kind, caring, if a little callous, individual.
The girl was… well, the girl was something of amascot. The little sibling who was able to make even the cold heart of Logic melt with a smile.she was the sweetest, kindest girl Emma had ever known.
It really, really was a shame what happened to Truth not long after.
Emma loved these guys.
They were everything she had ever wanted, a rag-tag group of revolutionaries, not afraid to voice their opinions and change the world.
Truth cheered them up.
Logic taught them things.
Reform held them together.
And Emma… she did anything she could.
She did whatever she could to help her new family.
She knew. She knew that the moment she stopped being useful, she would be thrown away like trash.
She didn't want to be thrown away.
So she worked harder and harder.
But something terrible happened.
Reform, without so much as a word, left their group, and joined the Heroes.
The goddamned bastards they had been fighting to defeat.
Truth and Logic were devastated, even if Logic pretended not to care.
Truthfully, she was incredibly sad, but she didn't let it show.
And that was when she finally fit in.
The group's numbers were back to three, and she filled in for Reform, or, rather, 'Twilight', as he now called himself.
She performed her roles in the heists and capers almost as efficiently as Reform had, if mot more.
She was able to grow out of being a 'replacement', and become her 'own person'.
But none of that mattered, as she attatched the last bit of dynamite onto the building, as she stood in the center of the ruined city of Wisdom.
She grinned quietly, tapping her headset.
"Mr. Logic-man~! The explosives are set~!"
Logic's voice crackled through her headphones, full of glee.
"Blow it up, Madness."
"Okie Doke, Boss!"
And every single standing building in the city of Wisdom blew up, as she pressed the button in her hands.
"Boom!"
Not that she minded, of course. Being an outsider was fun. Nobody was able to criticize or judge her for what she did.

Celine raised her eyebrow and swivelled around to face Truth. “You…sure this Logic dude isn’t a psycho mass murderer like Reform? I don’t want anything to do with people like Reform. What he did brought tragedy and grief upon the city. I’ve dealt with enough looks of sorrow, wiped and altered enough memories and healed enough wounds from the horrid day of mass genocide already. I can’t help carry the burden of so many’s sorrows and pain. I….I can’t.”
Celine shoots Logic a look of mild disappointment, before facing Truth again. “Is there a way to back out….or am I not seeing a convincing enough reason why blowing anything up would ever help anyone?”
Truth caught herself before she could say 'her brother'.
Truth pointed at Elle.
"Thats Elle. She killed my broth- I mean, Reform."
Truth whispered quietly.

Logic tapped his headset.
"MAdness. Status report. Madness!"
He nodded quietly, as a voice crackled through.
"Logic, it's done. I've wiped out... mmh, maybe half the monsters left here, in Wisdom. Don't worry, I'm fine."
Logic nodded, grinning.
"Good. And the gateway?"
"Sorry, boss. It's still there. It's gotten way smaller, though. But the city is gone, Kablooey."
Logic glanced over at Elle.
"Explosives are effective, and quick."

She extended a hand to the newcomer. "Elle K. Compass. Resident villain and fellow soul summoned." She didn't bother adding that she was the real mass murderer among the four of them. She didn't bother adding that she had killed Reform, Lydia's little slips like slaps in the face. She didn't bother adding that her life was forfeit anyway.

"Truth, if you'd please, the other two."
Truth glared at logic.
"...Fine."
Truth drew a door, stepping through it.
Logic stopped her.
"Wait, Truth. Before anything, bring Madness over."
Truth sighed, drawing another door in the air. It swung open, and a fairly average girl stepped through.
Her short, pink hair bobbed with each step, as she glanced around. She wore a loose jacket, fingerless gloves on her hands.
"Mmh! Hi! Are you the people Logic picked out?"

"Elle K. Compass. Resident villain and confirmed soul summoned." She repeated, turning towards her.
"And you must be Madness. How curious..."
Elle's head tilted to the side, as she sized the girl up.

Madness gestured to her clothes, covered in soot and ash.
her smile was cheerful.
"I'm a fan, you know? I think you're really cool. Did Logic give you too much trouble?"
Madness put a hand on Logic's head, messing with his azure hair.
Logic grumbled under his breath.
"...moron."
Madness beamed.
"See? He's like a little kid. Logic, you want a cookie?"
"Shut the f!@# up and get away from me."
"Okay, okay! Gee, so sensitive..."
Madness moved away from Logic.
"Anyways, wonderful to meet you, my name is Emma."
