Aki pushed the rising feeling of suspicion deep down and hesitantly entered the Truthkeeper's musty basement.
He eyed the dusty floor with disgust before forcing a smile on his face.
This is the Truthkeeper's...er, residence, I guess. I should leave the best impression possible so she favors me, heheh...
"Heyyy, Ms. Truthkeeper~!" He said in a childish, squeaky voice. "This is your house, right? I like it, and it's really...uh...'truthkeeper-ey', eheh..."
Adrik Volkov
Adrik gulped. Is Kendo insane?! What's he doing? Does he want to be sent back?
But the Truthkeeper merely levelled him with an unimpressed stare. "Eat," she repeated. "This kindness will not be repeated tomorrow." She turned on him and began busying herself in the kitchen.
Hesitantly, Adrik claimed his bowl and began eating. The bread was rock hard. Even dunking it in the stew didn't seem to make it more edible.
Somehow, Mercy had finished. This further cemented Adrik's belief that she was an eldrirch abomination.
"Truthkeeper-ey!" Aki chirped like... you know, an idiot.
"Indeed," the woman said flatly. "Eat."
Adrik shuddered. He picked up his spoon and started on his stew, leaving the gross bread in his lap. The stew on it was making his lap feel incredibly gross, but at least he didn't have to eat it, ey?
The stew wasn't that bad, all things considered. Kind of bland, but his tastes were on the spicier side so maybe he was biased.
He finished and began studying his companions.
Arden Vasilyev's POV
What I am going to do, is be the best, and pass whatever they throw my way. Better than anyone else does.
They tasted a small amount of the food, but no more. Technically, they did just eat, but would not die of food poisoning if there was any.
It might not be in the Truthkeeper's best interest to poison them all.
Still.
He wasn't going to take any chances.

"Everything is going to be okay."
"That is... surprisingly good. Well, surprisingly not-terrible, that is."
Kendo tapped on the floor, grinning cheerfully.
"... I'm not gonna die by eating this, right?"

Ayran grabbed his own bowl, and bread, splitting the apart and dipping it in the soup, it wasn't horrible per say, it's just wasn't a flavor that Ayran was used too.
After he finished, Ayran went back to fumbling his rubix cube, thinking about their next move, as his fingers moves quickly.

Aki hesitantly gulped down the pathetic excuse of a meal. The nauseous taste of disgust coated his tongue as he attempted to swallow it entirely without throwing up.
He turned to stare at Ayran because he didn't feel like complimenting the Truthkeeper at this moment.
"Hmm?" Ayran hummed questionably, what did Aki need, and why was he staring at him?

Kaori looked at her bowl. Some stew, it was. Looking at the others slurping down, she tried a small sip. She had to admit, it was pretty good. She dipped some bread in. Even better. Because she was a totally well-mannered child, she did not slurp it down, and ate it properly (enough)

He was pretty sure, he didn't cause anyone trouble recently!
He turned his head, his hand on the rubix cube finally stopped, it turned out to be Kendo. "Hmm?" he hummed questionly again.
Arden Vasilyev's POV
He looked over at the Truthkeeper, biting his lip, trying to gauge a response. Perhaps they'd been overthinking this whole thing, not a test of any sort, they were all merely gathering strength for the trials ahead.
But Arden would rather go hungry than risk poison.
In a way, Arden was glad they hadn't spoken yet. The last thing they wanted to do was to invite their companions to take some sort of advantage of them. Or to, worse, think they were friends! Arden shuddered. Never can any of us be friends. You're all inferior to me.
He would have scowled, but held back on making a face, in case their superiors were watching. Ayran must've thought this was some joke, clearly he wasn't taking this seriously. Either that, or the friendly way he acted was completely fake... in which case, he was actually cunning. Someone to look out for. Arden took that to note.
