He grabbed Lovino aside and spoke in a hushed manner. "...How are we going to do this again? Do you think we can even convince the big priest guy. Big man. Large. Or should we start doing subliminal messages be a little sneaky sneaky" He rubbed his hands together like a fly. A very human looking one. It seems cartoonish to the point where he's knowingly incriminating himself.
Being grabbed both physically and mentally from all sorts of people today, Lovino finds no surprise in when his brother yanks him away as well. He gives his brother a nasty, disappointed look at the cartoonish ways he expresses himself. "Maybe you should start on not being too suspicious to anyone, then we can talk," he puts a finger between his eyebrows. "I don't think we can fully convert him, but being buddy-buddy with the priest might help our case a lot. Let's just try and be good little priests for now, shall we?"
Well, it looked like that crisis was temporarily over. Even though it wasn't a permanent situation, Kanata had faith that he'd persevere through whatever was thrown his way. After all, he was the high priest, the man who the people trusted to soothe their worries and chase away the clouds lingering over their heads. He was supposed to be the infallible emotional support of the city while the royal family took care of everything else. But a part of him couldn't help be feel as if he was in over his head this time. Foreigners who were absolutely convinced in their path were both easy and difficult to handle, both for their simple-minded stubbornness. Lovino and Feliciano sat in that pocket of delicate balance where they believed themselves to be the gods of their new world yet they had the means to make that dangerous dream a reality.
Quickly clapping his hands twice, he looked out over the people with a smile that betrayed none of his inner worries. "I believe that will be all for today." He trilled, voice easing its way into the worried hearts of the onlookers. "As you have heard here, I will take "responsibility" for these two. Please, if you have any "concerns" come to me and I will not turn you away. Any words will be received with an "open heart" so please continue to live without any worries." The smile he gave the gathered crowd was genuine and soft as the people murmured softly before beginning to disperse.
Brazen to be saddled and mounted him, before trotting off to the city. After Scarlet had come to the castle, Regina's suspicions had been running on high, especially with what was going on. This was not helpful for her mental health, with all of this worrying, but Regina didn't have time to worry about herself. She had to focus on what was more important-investigating. She reached the city and noticed Katana. She approached him and nodded respectfully. "High Preist. What is this all about? A messenger coming with something about two brothers?"
"Captain Reigna." Kanata greeted with warmth in his voice, bowing ever so slightly towards her. "Thank you for making "haste" to come here. Ache is quite fast at these things, ehehe~" waving his thanks to the silver haired archer, Kanata let his face fall into a more serious and contemplative expression, trapping a soft lip between his teeth. "We... Have a tiny little "problem" here." He finally admitted keeping his voice low. There was no need to alarm anyone with his own worries.
Gently explaining to Reigna the situation involving the brothers, and sending the occasional glace back to make sure that they were still there and not listening in, he finally wrapped up by helplessly shrugging. "And that's the story. I have taken "responsibility" of these two so there is no need for "excessive measures" but I believe it is for the best if we kept an "eye" on them."
That draws a small laugh from Kanata as he poorly conceals his mirth behind a hand. "And why "wouldn't" I, Captain? You're older than I am, and while I sing the songs of "days long gone" you protect the "kingdom". I believe that "deserves" quite a bit of respect, him?" It was both saddening and slightly funny how the slightest complement or attention got to Reigna. While Kanata was curious as to what upbringing one must have had to go through to be flustered at the lightest of attention, Kanata wisely didn't pry
Seeing the two hard at work, Kanata smiled ruefully. Oh he so did with so lend a hand, but he was a simple priest and nothing else. He couldn't do much in the face of overbooked schedules and unsuspecting chaos brewing within their lives. "You two seem busy so I shall leave you to it." He interjected politely. "But if you two need me for "anything", and I mean anything, please don't "hesitate" to come to the church."
