Forward Unto Dawn (Open and Accepting)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Forward Unto Dawn (Open and Accepting)Cutter didn't wait around. He grabbed his backpack, dropped the spent clip, still containing three bullets, to the ground and slapped a fresh one home. It would be a nightmare if he didn't have enough bullets when the time came. "C'mon." he grunted and started running away from the cloud as fast as he could. Which was to say, pretty fast. He wondered if he'd ever be fast enough to outrun the mutants. The answer was probably no. But they didn't need to outrun them. They just needed to stay ahead of them until they reached the nearest city, some five kilometers from their current position.
Atriox narrowed his eyes. They had started moving. No matter. The humans had left it far too late. They could take their time now. He could smell them. All humans shared the same base smell. Fear. It was strong in the air now.

Polous didn't worry about dodging trees. He simply plowed through them as if they weren't there. He was perhaps the only one with that advantage. Atriox, encumbered with the hammer strapped across his back, decided not to entertain such displays of strength and focus on catching up to the humans.

Cutter was getting extremely creative with the words that he was muttering under his breath. "Damn it, split up!" he shouted and peeled left. There was no point in both of them getting caught. He put a hand on his pistol to reassure himself. In the current situation, that was all he could do other than run.

Sylvie peeled right. Now that she no longer followed Cutter, Sylvie hopped up a tree and continued running on the branches, never staying still for long. She knew how to avoid the branches that would break or bend under her weight. Years in the forests had taught her how to navigate the trees easily. Although she had peeled right, Sylvie still moved more or less north, towards the city, hoping they would regroup there. If not, well, killing a few mutants would be a good way to die.

Suddenly Canial jumps besides Kioiki.
Kioiki : hey Canial, help me in following both of them , you follow the guy and let me follow that girl.
Canial nods and starts following Cutter while Kioiki follows Sylvie
Eventually Sylvie felt that someone was following her. Her footsteps were accompanied by anothers', if she would have to guess probably a survivor, from the way they had not broken any branches so far. "Who are you? Why are you following me?" Sylvie voiced into the air in her normal volume, knowing most people wouldn't pick up on it, but someone who had been in the forest for even a year would easily hear and understand her. Didn't mean she would stop though.

Cutter swore. There were two of them on his tail. He assumed the other one must've gone after Sylvie. He guessed they were half-way there. But the mutants behind him were so close that he could hear their ragged breaths. Perhaps he should just draw his pistol and... no. He kept running.

Out of stones and stones, it was created. Dave. It saw, in the distance, people. People... running from mutants. It got up and stood. "I need to help those mutant friends!" It thought as it ran over there. It popped off it's rocky hand, and threw it at the on that looked like a 'Cutter'.
(And I almost died laughing. I mean, there's no generic look for a 'Cutter'.)
Cutter saw a shadow appear on the ground. "What?" he looked up without breaking pace. A massive boulder was plummeting towards him. "Oh my-" he put on a burst of speed. It impacted the ground right behind him. His pursuers, however, slammed face-first into the rock. Cutter gave a small laugh and continued running North.
Atriox was catching up to the woman. Not long now. His efforts would soon bear fruit. He vaguely wondered how Solium and Polous were getting on.

Solium and Polous shook themselves. They had absolutely no idea what had happened. One minute they had been chasing a human, the next, they were on the floor. "Atriox will have my hide for this." Polous muttered, rubbing his head.
