Sylvie decided to scatter when Cutter ducked into a shop. She
ducked into a different shop, this time a perfume shop. She took
care not to run into anything, though the scent and the chemicals
in the air made her eyes water. She thought that at the very least,
it would mask her scent from any mutants nearby, particularly those
chasing after her. She ran for the secondary exit, saw a counter
nearby, and ducked into the counter to hide, listening to the
thunder of mutant footsteps.
Polous and Solium growled. "What is that stench?" Polous coughed.
"It's coming from there." Solium pointed at a entrance to a space
beyond. The said space had small glass bottles arranged in rows.
Just looking at it gave them headaches. "Steer clear." Polous
advised. He pointed towards the shop on the left of the perfume
shop. Solium immediately entered it. Polous took the one to the
right.
Atriox entered the mall behind them. He sniffed the air once,
caught the smell of his pack-mates and immediately ran upstairs,
hammer in hand.

"Seriously where they both are ?" She thought as she kept running
in search of Sylvie and Cutter, she noticed she wasn't able to
smell Sylvie anymore therefore she followed Cutter's smell and went
in search of him instead of both.
Sylvie closed her eyes and mentally counted to a high number,
trying to get her adrenaline under control and her breathing less
noisy. The footsteps of the mutants drew closer and then further
away. Then more footsteps, this time heavier, made their way
upstairs. She could hear the mutants under the counter, and dearly
hoped none of them would peek under.
Sylvie heard Kioki's yelling, but stayed put and shut her eyes,
again forcing herself to count. Kioki was an ally, but if she
yelled back she'd doom both of them. Sylvie wanted to peek out from
the counter, but she didn't dare risk it - better have them all
scattered than let the hostile mutants kill all three.
Cutter saw one of the mutants coming into the shop he was in.
Fortunately, it had not yet spotted him. He managed to get out the
other side of the shop, while it rummaged around inside. He looked
around. He could see the fire escape. He wondered if Sylvie was
still inside or had escaped. He had no way of making sure. So he
started moving towards the fire escape at a very slow pace, looking
about carefully.

Sylvie had mentally counted to three hundred. She decided she'd
waited long enough, and cautiously peeked out the counter, handgun
in hand the way she'd seen in movies. Sylvie still felt tense. She
decided to snatch a bottle of perfume, just in case - she knew it
worked almost like a pepper spray. Just much more expensive.
Besides, the mutants had avioded the shop, right? She snuck out,
glancing out a corner, and saw the fire escape. The corridor was
clear. She couldn't hear the mutants rummaging around. She'd taken
a different exit, the one at the other end of the store. Sylvie saw
Cutter, in front of her. He must have decided to walk out quicker
than her. She crept behind him slowly, but still heard nothing
except her own breathing.
The rock had awoken. It scanned it's surroundings, looking to see
what woke it up. It saw a little mutated rat, screeching like a
normal mutated rat should. "Dang it, rat, why did you wake me up?"
Dave questioned, frustrated. "Let's see how you'll squeak in my
stomach! Okay, that was a horrible insult... no matter, I'm still
going to eat you." It says as it picks the rat up, and swallows it
whole. It tasted like steak, but furrier. "Let's see what's
bustling at the town..." It murmured to it's self, as Dave dashed
to the town. "Oh, humans... where are you? It thought, as it
looked through buildings, and ripped apart buildings. "I can't
find them anywhere? This should be easy, right?" It pondered as
it searched more buildings, not knowing that they were hiding in a
good place.
Cutter kept moving, weapon in his hands. He was pretty close to the
fire escape now. He turned around and jumped when he saw Sylvie.
"Damn it." he hissed. "Never mind, come on." he muttered and
gestured towards the fire escape. "The sooner we get out of here,
the better."

Sylvie opened her mouth to say something, remembered the mutants
behind them in the shops, and thought better of it. She followed
Cutter and slipped into the fire escape, Kioki not once entering
her mind.
Cutter quickly dropped down to street level, confident that they'd
given the mutants the slip. He looked around. They had to get into
cover quickly. So what they needed was a low-rise building. He
wouldn't want to be caught in one of the taller ones if it started
coming down.

Dave plopped on the ground, flustered. "Dang it, why can't I
find these humans?" I thought. Suddenly, it saw a shadow run
across the road. It quickly disguised it's self into just a pile of
boulders, not wanting it's self to be seen. Dave crept slowly
behind Cutter, to get an idea of where he's going. It hoped to get
some good human food soon.
Sylvie had no idea what the next step even was. She knew they
needed to hide somewhere, and her bet would be in another
nauseatingly powerfully smelly perfume shop. Unfortunately judging
from the lack of fragrance, she guessed the only shop had been on
the mall. It was too bad her luck had probably run out. She hoped
Kioki would find them again, preferably at a less hostile time with
less mutants out to kill them.
