Didact hesitated. His armour was practically a second skin to him. He hadn't shed it for... well, he couldn't really remember. Must've been quite an occasion, at any rate. But Copper was making sense and he was the one who'd asked to accompany her, so there was nothing for it. He reached out and brushed his gauntleted fingers across the armour in front of him. Small lights propagated from the point of contact, spreading in geometric patterns across the armour until it was fully functional. It then opened up from the front, revealing the mannequin inside. The Forerunner used his powers to pull it out and set it gently to a side. The armour remained upright, still open, waiting for its to-be occupant to enter. Didact took a deep breath and opened up his own armour. Immediately, pins and needles spread across his body and the unregulated air around him felt sluggish and thick. He quickly stepped out of his combat skin and it closed up behind him, remaining upright but powering down. With another deep breath, he turned around and stepped backwards into the new armour. It immediately closed up around him and the Forerunner relaxed once more as the feeling of familiarity rushed through him. He took a few experimental steps. The armour was perfect for his frame. He could have sworn that it hadn't looked big enough, given the Forerunner's towering height, but it might have changed slightly to accommodate him. He looked over at Copper. "Not bad. Quite comfortable, actually." [Read more] |

"Mt. Olympus?" He asked, tilting his head in puzzlement as he followed Copper to the armory. "I am afraid that can't say that I've heard of it before." He wondered briefly about the research facility Copper had mentioned. Jack landed just behind Faith and quickly turned back to his humanoid form, raising a shield and absentmindedly blasting one of the stray Grimm, a bear-like creature, with a bolt of energy. He watched it evaporate into smoke. "Normally, I'd be all for charging in there and obliterating everything we see," he said, just loud enough for everyone in his immediate vicinity to hear, "but would likely be quite foolish given the circumstances. The soldiers have them bottled up tight so we probably have time. Perhaps some light reconnaissance is in order before the bulk of the army heads through the rift?" the demon asked, glancing at Sliuril. [Read more] |

"I don't doubt you." Jack looked around as he emerged from the tent and moved to give himself some space. The demon leapt into the air, changing into his dragon form as he went, and followed after Faith. [Read more] |

Didact nodded an thought about Copper's words for a moment. "If you don't mind, I would quite like to accompany you on that task." the Forerunner piped up eventually. [Read more] |

Didact wondered how to phrase it for a moment and then shrugged. "You said they wouldn't allow you down there. What do you intend to do now?" he asked. [Read more] |

Jack rolled his eyes at the introduction but made no comment. Fine. He'd been tempted anyways. He nodded his greeting to Thryssa and looked over the map while he spoke. "Really, it would only be logical to attempt to close the rift that seems to have a higher activity of these Grimm. It would also be nice to know if there have been any new developments during your pushes into Grimm territory, especially around the rifts." Didact walked into the workshop. He was only mildly surprised to find Copper's father there with her and nodded to each of them in turn. He assumed that they had been talking and was ready to leave at the slightest indication that his presence was unwanted, but he could stand awkwardly in the doorway all day if needed. Because he honestly had no idea why he hadn't gone down to the fights. He supposed that he was coming to feel that he owed some level of allegiance to Copper. After all, seeing as it was no longer possible to give it to the Forerunner race, it being all but extinct, he might as well give it to the goddess they had once worshipped. It helped somewhat that she seemed decent enough as a person as well. There was also the little fact to consider that once beings like Sliuril and Jack were down on a battlefield, there was precious little he could bring to the table. Wow, I'm useless. he thought to himself. [Read more] |

Didact made his way to the workshops, the directions clear in his mind. Standing out, even. Like a patch of fresh paint on an old wall. [Read more] |

"But that's not it, is it? No, if I felt it was required, I would have gladly died fighting against her. Once again, perhaps it's me not knowing for certain what she has done, but... it was all a long time ago, sir. A period of my people's history that I slumbered through, banished by those that I had once trusted. I don't blame them. It would feel quite... strange... for me to force anyone to pay for transgressions against the Forerunners." Jack nodded at Sliuril's words and, seeing no point in delaying it any further, stepped through the portal. [Read more] |

Didact, who had been turning to follow Copper stopped in his tracks when he heard the thought in his head. The Forerunner looked over his shoulder at the King of the Godsphere. He supposed it felt wrong, standing in the hallway to talk to such a powerful being. He felt that there should have been a bit more to mark the occasion. But then again, he thought while turning around to face the King fully, he'd always hated formality. He stood there, hands clasped behind his back and nodded respectfully. "Sir." [Read more] |

Didact stood up when he saw Copper rushing away, glanced over at Glaurug, shrugged hopelessly and then quickly followed her through the hallways. It probably wouldn't do to get left behind. [Read more] |

Didact had had his fill of staring at the other guests and was now silently praying that Beowulf hadn't wrecked the Cryptum. It took him a moment to remember he was sitting next to the Forerunner goddess and yet another to remember that he didn't believe in deities. He thought about it, shrugged, and continued praying. He supposed today had been something of an eye-opener. [Read more] |

Didact thought about Copper and Glaurug's words for a few moments, staring at the man in the robes, and eventually shrugged. Copper's exile only mattered to him if he himself gave it any importance. And, he knew all too well, exile was not always fair. He'd figure it out sooner or later, but decided that this was neither the time nor the place. He gave a brief nod to Glaurug and resumed looking out over the guests. [Read more] |

Didact hesitated. "If... say there was someone who was quite curious as to the reasons and terms of your banishment, what response could they expect upon asking about them?" the Forerunner asked, head cocked inquisitively. [Read more] |
