Jeff pulled his knife at the sight of the boy, but Evander put a
hand on his arm. "Wait. He's obviously not Lux, and id like to keep
it that way. Let's talk to him first." Evander turned back to the
boy as Jeff grudgingly place the knife back in his pocket. He
gestured for the boy to come over, not wanting to have to shout.
He attempted to run over though he almost immediately slipped on a
puddle. Right. Blood. Running is a bad idea. He simply
walked quickly, soon catching up to Aroura, Synthia and the
others.
"Evander!" Aroura yelled, running up to him. She didn't realize
just how afraid she had been until she saw him standing right in
front of her, unhurt. She could have kissed him she was so
relieved. But she was upset that they had killed Violet. The girl
was innocent. She hadn't fought with the Lux. In fact, Violet would
probably have stayed neutral. "I was so worried! All that blood in
the mansion? You gave me a heart attack!"
Evander hugged her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you." He
new she was upset about something. He was about to ask, when the
new guy walked up to them. Evander let go of Aroura, still holding
her hand though, and turned to him, saying, "Name's Locklear.
Pleaure to meet you." He gestured to the others. "And these are my
friends, Aroura, Synthia, Jeff, and..." He realized that perhaps he
should have told those three to hide. Introducing someone to a guy
with a slit open mouth, a monochromatic death clown, and a kid with
no eyes, was not the best way to make friends.
Aroura hugged him back, glad he was whole and unharmed. She held
his hand and turned to face the new guy.
"Perhaps we should move a little farther into the woods. I don't
want to be anywhere near this place when people start waking up,"
Aroura suggested during the pause in conversation.
"Good idea." Evander replied. He turned back to the new guy, and
said, "If you want, you can come with us. I assume you are one of
the new arrivals here, and don't remember much. I have a friend
that can help with the memory loss, and maybe clear some things up
for you."
Aroura walked hand in hand with Evander back to the house.
"I'm starving," she said simply, "Can we grab some food and go back
to my room?"
She was hoping to explain her plan. She thought it was the best
compromise she could come up with. She wouldn't ask Evander to
change. But she wouldn't let the innocent be hurt.
"Sure." Evander said. "If you want to head back to the room, I can
grab the food." As he walked towards the Dining room, Evander
wondered what could have made Aroura so upset. She wanted to talk
to him alone about it, so it had to be important. He grabbed two
plates and filled them with tacos, chips, and salsa, before heading
back to the room. After he had closed the door behind him, he sat
cross legged on the soft carpet, gesturing for Aroura to sit beside
him. "So what did you want to talk to me about." He asked
Aroura sat down and sighed heavily.
"I saw Violet," she said softly, "She may have been at the Lux
mansion, but she was innocent. I understand your need to kill.
Korbyn talked with me about it. But having the past that I do, I'm
not okay with innocent people being hurt."
She looked up at him. Taking a deep breath, "When I was on my own,
I did a little hunting of my own. But I only took the guilty. Using
myself as bait, I got them to try to hurt me. When it was clear
they knew what they were doing, I knew they were guilty. So, I
propose we do it together. I'll find the guilty and you use them to
save the innocent."
She was looking down at her hands, worried about how he would
respond.
Evander considered her idea. It was a good one to be sure, and he
loved her all the more for the fact that she accepted him as he
was. "I like it." He said. "And we can do it. But I can't change
the others actions. I never wanted to hurt Violet. I didn't even
know she was there. Ironically, it was Eyeless who noticed her." He
put an arm around her. "I am sorry he killed her. She was nice, and
didn't want to fight." He sighed. "It's just that a lot of the
people here hate the Lux for banishing us all those years ago. I
had been waiting for sixty years for my revenge. I lost myself in
my hate."
Aroura was relieved when he agreed. She wanted to get back out
there and help innocent girls.
"I can understand wanting to get revenge, trust me. I want And I'm
not mad at you. She wasn't your kill. I saw him. I cut him down,"
She looked up at him, worried he'd be mad at her, she quickly
explained. "I didn't want someone really young or innocent to have
to be haunted by that."
Evander smiled at her. Always thinking of others first, as usual.
"Thank you." He said. "I wasn't thinking about others at the time."
He sighed again, thinking back to the days before he and the others
had been banished. That was so long ago. He remembered more Mythos
(Any supernatural creature. I wanted to call them something other
than Creepypasta) than there were now. He wondered what had
happened to them.
"Thank you for understating," Aroura smiled at him. She took a bite
of a taco and moaned. "Oh my gosh! These are so good!"
She finished her tacos and tried to stifle a yawn. She failed
miserably. Standing up, she pulled out a pair of silky blue pajama
pants and a loose fitting black t-shirt from her closet.
"Well, I'm going to go change into my pjs before I fall asleep. My
chest and back won't thank me later if I end up sleeping in this,"
Aroura told Evander, gesturing to her corset. "I'll be right
back."
Inside her bathroom, Aroura began the long process of taking off
her outfit. She took a quick shower and brushed her hair. She
pulled her hair into a long braid at the base of her skull. Then
she pulled on her pajamas. She stepped back into her room.
As Aroura went to get changed Evander picked up the dirty dishes,
taking them back to the dining room. There were only a few people
left there now. Synthia was sitting at a table in the corner,
talking to Eyeless. He thought about going over, but decided not to
disterb them. He would ask her about it in the morning. As long as
Jack didn't get a little to friendly, Evander was perfectly fine
with them. He left the Dining room and went to his own room,
preferring to spend a few hours reading, and thinking about the
day's events. Hopefully Aroura wouldn't take it the wrong way.
Synthia sat for a while longer, talking and listening to Jack. He
was so funny, and new so many interesting stories. How could anyone
not like him? She yawned. Jack noticed the fatigue on her face.
"It's getting pretty late. Maybe we should head to bed." He said.
"Ok." Synthia yawned again. Once they were in the hallway, Jack
turned as if to ask her something, then apperantly thinking better
of it, simply said "Goodnight." before they parted ways. Synthia
entered her room, cleaned up and settled down to sleep.
Zack had went along with them, overall approaching Evander.
"Well, since I didn't introduce myself earlier I'm-" A spirit, or a
ghost if you'd prefer to call it, began to form next to him. "Get
outta here!" he snapped.
The form frowned and faded away. "Sorry. Man, why did I have to get
the power that involved ghosts. Anyway, I'm Zack Bellex. Since you
mentioned it earlier I actually don't remember much either."
(Just wanted to apologize to Sylvia, for continually bolting of
without her with our posts xD)
Evander turned, giving the boy a weary smile. "I totaly understand.
I got the power a power that involves flesh eating bacteria. Not
terribly pleasant. Anyway, it getting late so you can stay in the
geuss room for tonight. My friend can help with your memory, and A
more permanent lodging, tomorrow." He turned and gave a sharp
whistle. A dog the size of a wolf came bounding down the hall. It
sat grinning at Evander, with its large, human like teeth. "Smile
here will show you to the room." Turning to go he said, "You may
see some other... Interesting, people and creatures. But you don't
have to worry. As long as you don't provoke any of them you'll be
fine. Goodnight!" He strode off towards his room. The dog gave the
boy a wide smile, before padding slowly down the hall.
(Agreed! Sorry Sylvia! It's like reading a really good book for me.
I gotta find out what Neverlight will do next!)
Aroura looked around her room and sighed. She had hopped to say
goodnight to Evander before he left. She picked up a romantic
fantasy novel, turned off the lights, the turned on her bedside
lamp. Crawling into bed, she opened the book and began to read.
After what seemed like minutes, she woke up when the book hit the
floor with a thud. Groaning, she turned over, flicked off the
light, and snuggled into the soft sheets and cushiony bed.
He eyed the dog curiously before following it to a room. Zack
entered and shut the door, slipping out of his jacket and shoes
before collapsing into bed. He fell asleep almost immediately, as
he'd been wandering for a few days without any good place to stay
and he was exhausted.
Aroura yawned, stretching as she climbed out of bed. She rubbed her
eyes as she made her way to the bathroom. Turning on the warm water
she stood there for awhile, enjoying the heat. She washed and
turned off the water, rubbing her hair dry with the towel. The she
put on another blue corset and a frilly black mini skirt. She put
on her boots, and fans. Pulling her hair up into a messy bun, she
secured it with her chopsticks. Picking up her jacket, she left her
room. Having no idea where Evander's room was, she set off for the
dinning hall. She hoped Synthia and Evander were there. But she
also wanted to talk to the new guy.
