Mercy looked up. "Please let it be you, Makoto..." She prayed it was her son- he had lost his way, and she wanted nothing more than to bring him back.

"That's a good question, but I guess it's because I let her boss me around. I don't mind it, really. She's nice once she finds you tolerable enough." Eden shrugged. "Oh, are you done with the buffering?"

"Fine. I have information given to me by an ally about a major source of magical power in a cave- but! I don't tell you where it is unless you help me." She smiled darkly, holding her hand out to Scaramouche.

Moon nodded, partially understanding Eden. The impatient part of her wanted Vixen to just make up her mind, but she could put emotional volatility behind her for the moment.

"Yes. This hull should be fairly airtight, watertight, and resilient. I reckon passengers will be protected." She said quietly, meeting Eden's eyes.

It was never meant to be.

“Fine. I’ll help” He huffed, taking her hand. He wasn’t particularly looking forward to helping HER, but he liked being useful, so that was okay. This changed nothing.

"Oh..." She kept her wand ready in her hand, putting on her best stoic expression. "I'll drive them away, whoever they are. They shouldn't be a problem to someone like me."

"You really are a dog, only coming when it's beneficial to you. How superficial. But I guess I can't say anything, after all, you are a doll. Hollow. Emotionless. Cold." She teased, walking down to the main hall. "There's one condition to me helping you."

She hesitated for a moment, but nodded quietly and faced the church, continuing her barrier spell. "If the barrier is hit even once while I'm still putting it up, it will shatter right away, so try to lead them away from me!"

Moon furrowed her brow. She wanted... to go. Perhaps Bliss would take her. But in the mean time, Moon needed to make herself as useful as possible, so not taking her wasn't an option.

"But it can't be navigated without this... strange magic, correct? Do we have any leads on where that magic is coming from? A person? A chemical? Some sort of interdimensional source?" She of course, had her suspicion, but she didn't trust Eden enough yet to reveal it. Give her an hour with that ship, and she would bet money that her magic and expertise could sail it through the rift.

It was never meant to be.

Iteral narrows her eyes and gasps a little. "She's gearing up for a protective spell. Khalfani, you have better senses, can you see anything out of the ordinary around us?" She asks, already with her wand in hand and looking around.

You know the first rule in combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.

Luckily enough for Azazel, he had already made it through the barrier before Mercy had continued shielding the cottage. He felt a bunch of others with his magic, there seeming to be six of them. Two were in the church though. He was only really after Mercy, so he started searching for her.

Caspian was hiding in the little emergency room that Kendo had taken him to, and now Caleb had made his way to Caspian to keep him company through this.

Azazel looked above him at Kendo. “Just a guy with murder on the mind.” he said, drawing his blade but not attacking quite yet. He wanted to see just what this guy had planned. His sword loosened and was again able to move like a whip.

There are multiple people in the church, I think..." Khalfani slithered to Mona and made sure she was okay. "It's good that you have no injuries, but you'll use up all of your magic like that! And where's Caspian?"

"I'll be fine. Caspian is in the panic room- it's behind the altar in the main room." He nodded and hurried inside, taking his scimitar in hand. This proved to be more serious since they were intruding. Mercy stopped her spell halfway and hurried inside, finding Kendo and Azazel. "What's going on- you?" She remembered Azazel. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm not sure myself, but I think Elodie knows! She's the nicest, and the most knowledgeable about space and all that. Try asking her?" Eden suggested.

"You'll be on a suicide mission. I want this place to myself- the power, the pawns. But Bliss is in my way. I want you to kill her, and then the power will be all yours." She had to make it more convincing for him. "Haven't you noticed she's been holding you back?"

Azazel hadn’t seemed to be trying that hard against Kendo, since he technically was not a god and had no interests in him. Once he saw Mercy though he seemed a lot more eager to get out of these chains. “Ahhhh, so you’re the goddess I’ve heard so much about.” he said, before using a little bit of his light magic to dispel the chains of dark energy, standing up again.

Iteral nods in agreement and, when Mercy stopped her spell, she resumed where her mother left off. "Don't worry, I'll keep it up!" She makes a little groan from the spell itself but kept the barrier construction going. Even if some less divine magic had to fill in gaps... all Iteral hoped was that they would come out okay.

Well, he certainly could. That wouldn’t be the issue. In fact, if what she was saying was true, he wouldn’t even need to continue with the Doctor’s plan.

Mercy took a step back. "What...?" He was there for her? It wasn't odd, her head has been wanted for a while. But it seemed like he had a real vendetta. He was truly out for her blood. "Why are you here? Answer my question."
