From the moment you turned 18, you knew you were special. You could do things others couldn’t, and you were more advanced in your classes than your peers. Someone saw that, someone saw you were unique, and gave you a chance to live in a world with your “kind”. There was only one drawback- you had to leave your family and your loved ones behind, only able to visit them once a month. Whatever the reason was, you decided to live in this promised world. Unfortunately, the moment you arrived, you realised two things. One, you were completely clueless about this world. Two, you arrived in the middle of a war, a war between the three groups that once lived in harmony. Whilst they had their own territories, kept mostly to themselves, they weren’t hostile towards the others, and would frequently hold festivals or other events where all three groups would mix. The territories once were a general guideline of what could be built, where was best for a certain group, yet now they were like large rivers of acid. Stepping into another’s territory meant death, and the names of the other groups were spoken in disdain or disgust. Festivals were cancelled, and the leaders cut off ties with the rest. Of course, many believed the leaders, and they too supported that they needed to defend themselves against the other groups. But then there were some who were saddened by the news, those that hoped the three groups would live in harmony once again, the defectors. Them, along with you, will try to restore peace to the land. Will it succeed? Or will you die trying?

The Elementals

Elementals are able to harness one of the six elements- Wind, Water, Earth, Fire, Light and Dark, each to a certain degree. They can manipulate, call upon it, create “beings” (like Olaf) with it, but they cannot create it. To combat this, elementals wear special accessories on their wrists called Sparks. As the name implies, these accessories create a “starting point”, a small amount of whatever their element is that they can enhance and duplicate. Those defectors who join the supposed “rebellion” are more trained, thus they are allowed to wield two elements, one per hand. If they use their power for too long, they will be drained of energy. (don’t make it overpowered)


The Enigmas

Enigmas specialise in abilities to do with the mind, such as telekinesis, telepathy, mind reading, mind manipulation (implanting false thoughts, enhancing certain emotions, changing their memory) and rarely, mind control. These abilities are restricted, controlled by tiara like objects they wear around their head, which prevent any interference with their own mind. Enigmas brains are usually the most complex, and they suffer from headaches if they overuse their powers

The Copycats

Copycats, just as their names imply, can mimic the powers of anyone. Of course, they aren’t masters at it, and can only wield the others’ powers to a certain extent. Since this power of mimicking is instinctive, they wear rings on their fingers which prevent them from using their power randomly, otherwise they’d be experiencing surges of unwanted power and pain, accompanied by migraines and blurry visions. When harnessed correctly, they are able to hold their own against any average level Enigma/Elementalist

This is a semi-lit roleplay, meaning I expect to see short paragraphs per post, around three to four sentences. We’ll be moving rather slowly, and if this doesn’t die fast, there will be a part 2 :D If you’re “new to this world”, you will be 18/19, and if you’re a defector, any mature-for-war age is fine

Personality:
Ask about Maquia from anyone and you're more likely to get a "I'm sorry, who?" more than anything. As someone who dislikes staying in the spotlight and just prefers to silently help others, Maquia is the perfect candidate for a medic, a job that he doesn't seem too perturbed with undertaking. He's deeply empathetic and is more than willing to be a kind and compassionate listener, often carefully paying attention to the needs of each person around him, and reaching out at the right time. While he isn't the best conversationalist and more than a little introverted, Maquia is one of the pillars that keep moral high within his faction simply by lending his shoulder to cry on. Even more remarkably, he seems not to understand how precious his ability to develop sincere and strong relationships with everyone really is, content to stay the nameless pseudo-therapist.

ISFJ - The Defender
As someone who feels a deep responsibility towards taking care of others and extremely hardworking. He's quite practical as well, always does what is needed without much complaining and does it doing quite effectively as well. Maquia doesn't like to talk about himself much, preferring instead to focus on others. He has pretty medium to big cheez-it energy as he looks completely serious and no-nonsense but sometimes he just says the wackiest things that no one can really disprove because what are they going to do? Tell the medic that Bismuth is poisonous? He's the healer here, not you

If you are to confide with anyone, it would be Maquia. He is great at providing comfort and will keep your secrets but don't expect any meaningful advice as he isn't very good at putting his thoughts into words. He will judge you too, be prepared for that as his deadpan look of disappointment is enough for people to wonder if talking about this to their mother would be less painful. Outwardly, he doesn't show much visible emotion but he still does his best to support those who seek him

Description:
A well dressed young man who looks quite put together despite the circumstances. His soft appearance is in stark difference to the ruthless fighting going on around him, his air of innocence untainted despite the horrors. Although he looks like nothing but a newcomer who has just arrived to the scene, one shouldn't underestimate the gentle medic for his copycat abilities have been honed with precision and speed in mind. Maquia wears his ring on his right pointer finger but also wears a simple bracelet around his wrist, covering up his own ring under black gloves to throw enemies off. It wouldn't work on anyone who looks closely, but in the heat of the battle, it is these small advantages that win the war
