Kaori looked down at her shoes, which were obviously green. So Miss
Peri had seen through her. Seen through her favorite ability, to
grow plants. And told everybody. Now what were people going to
think? That she was a freak, like at her old school? That she was
cursed, that she was a witch?
Kaori shook her head, ridding herself of those thoughts. Surely,
these people wouldn't do the same, would they?

Miss Peri sees through Kaori's insecurity and writes a single
sentence on the blackboard.
You are not your powers. They are a part of you.
She taps the blackboard a few times, pointing out the sentence.
"Keep this in mind, please. I know many first years who get scared
because their powers are underwhelming or they go on a rampage of
how much they can influence their school. I want you to know
though, that your powers are not the only thing about you. People
make friends with other people. Not with magic."
You know the first rule in combat?
Shoot them before they shoot you.
Athena was suspicious that Miss Peri could deduct so much from
simply looking at someone, seems like she'd just have to cover
things up more. Her secret career was not going to be ruined by
some teacher who has a strangely apt ability at reading faces.
