Athena shook her head. Hard. "Sorry." The word was out of her mouth before she could stop it. And in a way, it was reassuring. As if this was simply another joke. Another time she'd accidentally zoned out while they were discussing something. But no. It wasn't. And then. And then reality caught up. Caught up those 15 years. This really was it. Kendo had been right. This was the dawn of a new era. The beginning of a new world. And... The only way that could happen, would be if they left old things behind.

Elucian smirked. "Ask your questions while you can, Athena. Kendo is dead, and I did what had to be done."

There was no place in this new world for her. She had known it from the moment she saw Kendo in the middle of the street, laughing. Always laughing. She continued to repeat the words that she knew would stab Athena like knives. She needed the girl to wake up and take this seriously. She was still unsure how much to reveal.
It was never meant to be.

Athena was pretty much back to normal. And... Acting normal somehow helped. Like it was fooling her mind into thinking that everything was still okay.

She didn't know Kendo had been a hero, because no one did. Everyone thought that she had put a stop to the great evil ravaging the city. And that was fine. If Athena wasn't going to ask the right questions, then there was nothing left to say.

"Good-bye Athena Luminia Lediana. I hope that you become a force of positive change in the world. You should know that he- Kendo, and I, both wanted you to be the one the world was entrusted to. Make of that what you will."

She turned to walk away, that same detached curiosity wondering if Athena would stop her.

And indeed she did. "Wait." Walking over, Athena grabbed Elucian's arm. "Where do you think you're going?" She was smiling slightly. Ever so slightly. Because she knew. Telepathy, remember? It had returned to normal after her self-induced-panic-attack. And for once, Elucian had forgotten to put up an EM barrier. But it didn't matter if she knew or not. Didn't matter if Elucian knew she knew or not. Kendo would have been a hero to her, no matter what he had done.

Maybe it was all in their heads, but a faint laughter could be heard, echoing through the ruined buildings. The clinking of a glass of liquor and laughter rang out, as if Kendo was toasting them from up in the sky. The clouds all dissipated, as sunlgiht peeked through. Kendo's body started to melt into shadow.
Is it

As He Was Supposed To Grab Kendo's Body , A Shadow Has Spreads On His Hands As He Touched It For No Reason
And Spreads Now In His Entire Arm . As It Spreads He Hid It By His Sleeve So No One Will See It And He Walk Away

Elucian pulled her arm away from Athena, the ghost of a smile on her lips. "Yes, Athena. Simply...yes. And you understand why no one else can ever know."

She turned again, this time really leaving for good. She bent down, and picked up an abandoned cigarette. Kendo's. Striking a match on the ground, she lit the cruel object, and held it up for a moment. The rain put it out instantly. So fitting.

She shot an EM pulse at Time. "Do not touch his body, you [redacted] [redacted]!" She glanced at Athena, and nodded. The girl understood that she would protect him from the desecration many would call for.

"Farewell, Athena. Save the world in the way we could not." She soared into the air with her EM powers, the strongest left in the world now that the king was dead, and disappeared from the history of the City of God.
It was never meant to be.

She was gone. She really was gone. It was all over. As Kendo's body completely disappeared, the rain stopped. The sun broke through, and a rainbow glistened. Cheers could be heard, as everyone laughed and smiled. Toasting the new world. Her world. She stood there for a moment longer, taking it all in. And there was no longer anything to be upset about. Everything had happened as it should. Kendo and Elucian had played their part, now it was her turn. And she would need partners. Like Time. As much as she hated to admit it, his organization and strong sense of loyalty would be extremely helpful in the rebuilding of their world. "Not yet. Do me a favor first."

Violet started walking forward not making eye contact or speaking to Elucian. Making her way to Kendo’s body, she picked up the remains of the shattered whiskey bottle and sat down next to Kendo. She pushed the bottom of the cracked bottle next to Kendo, whiskey was still left in the bottom, but the rain started to wash it out. As his body started to disappear, she took a light and the cigarettes out of his tattered pants. The rain made it hard, but Violet managed to light a cigarette and lifted it to her mouth. “Now I have to pay your tab, you jerk” Violet managed to say as a tear slid down her cheek. The cigarette she lit hissed as the rain put it out, and Violet drank the last of the watered down whiskey. “I’ll pay your tab today, just this once” she managed to say as she got to her feet. Turning away, she walked through the rain and disappeared. Kendo knew where she would be going right about now. At what remained of Kendos corpse, Violet had left a picture of them from when they were younger, and even dumber.
