“Uhh… Thanks,” Athena sat down opposite to him. She pulled out her book and began reading again, but she wasn’t so focused this time, instead scolding herself for being so useless.

She looked away and looked back down at her notebook reading the notes. she looked around her surroundings where she saw alot of people chatting and laughing. She sighed and shook her head.

The train began to pull away from the station. A cheer went up through the students. Many of them raced to the station-side windows and waved final good-byes to their loved ones. Little siblings jumped up and down, racing after the windows containing their big brother or sister.

A final whistle echoed throughout King's Cross. And the train was off.

If you knew what to listen for, one could hear the echo of the final train whistle all the way from the grounds of Hogwarts. The Headmistress of Hogwarts smiled. Her students were coming.

There came a knock on her door. "Come in, Filius," she called to the short Charms Master. He opened the door, and stepped in. Sunlight streamed through the windows.

"Is everything prepared for the sorting?"

"Of course, Minerva!" As the deputy headmaster, Professor Flitwick read the names of each student at the sorting ceremony. "Do you think it's going to be a good year?"

"It always is. Even where there are Basilisks, tournaments, and traitors it always is."

It was never meant to be.

“Well, let’s see…” Athena tapped her wand on her cheek. Then, having some sudden inspiration, she waved it at Kendo’s notebook and said a spell, making a picture of him drawing appear in it. It was one of the hardest spells she knew, but also one of the ones she practiced the most on.

“Thanks!” Athena said. Sensing that Kendo probably didn’t want to be bothered, she jumped back into her book, feeling a lot better. Maybe there was hope after all.

She started to draw all the symbols for each house including hers which was slytherin. Then HufflePuff, Gryffindor and RavenClaw. She added some notes to each one.
