The final Hoopa ring is on a page that I don’t have access to this time around. I was afraid that this might be able to happen. I know it is because, when I click on the “Poké Radar” and “Poké Radar History” links in this site map (https://pokeheroes.com/forum_thread.php?id=59407), I can see the golden ring in the lower right quadrant of my screen for just a moment before the index page loads, presumably because I don’t have Poké Radar.

What do I do? I can’t buy Poké Radar because it would be a waste of money that I really need to save up. I really want to get that last ring, I spent quite a bit of time finding the others, and I’m afraid that hitting the “give up” option would break the chain of Hoopas that I need to get a shiny Hoopa.

Just telling you that PokeRadar, is a very useful item, making you be able to hunt shinies with chains. It is worth a lot and you should buy it. Plus you get the ring as well :D

I’ve never done a shiny hunt before in any of the games, and I won’t do one here unless/until I’ve already gotten every single normal Pokémon. I need to save my money, and I don’t care much for shinies, anyway. I chose not to buy a shiny version of my favorite Pokémon recently even though it was a 20K PD instant buy, because that 20K PD could be part of what I’d need to get a legendary that I don’t have.

Can someone please tell me if giving up will break the chain of 50 Hoopas that gets you a shiny? And if there’s any other way to get the ring?

Well, Hoopa chain won't be reset even when you give up Hoopa quest.
The chain only counts the number of Hoopa eggs you've hatched and the 50th Hoopa egg is guaranteed to be shiny regardless of how many times you do the quest.

Thank you, Rice! I’ll give up the quest, then, and hope I get luckier with where the rings end up next time, because I feel like I’ve been having bad luck at the treasure chests since this Hoopa’s been out.

It’s a shame that there apparently isn’t any other way to get the ring, though.
