So… I’ve seen people discuss what this one is based on. Some even guessed it was based on zombies, or even, Frankenstein.
Those are amazing ideas, ngl, but too bad I’m not that creative x’D
They’re literally based on thunderstorms. You know how some people are still alive even after being struck by lightning? Yea that’s how this Emeran Karp got mutated xD (ngl why was I so evil back then?? x’D)
Too many thunderstorms around Emera Town. Also I’ve never seen a town with such unstable weather: very sunny at midnight, frequent strong and weak earthquakes… how do the locals even stay alive????
… Wait, I got distracted. Aaaaanyways

Very amazing design, yes, yes 🙂 (don’t mind me shamelessly complimenting myself :p)

But guess what? I forgot a looooooot of details when making the sprite x’D (though I did fix a few details, too, like how Magikarp lacks whiskers, or Gyarados’ crest in the sketch)

Also did you notice how shorter one of Gyara’s whiskers looks compared to the other? It’s based on an irl transformer! No, not The Transformers robots lol, this transformer in Physics or sth
(though I’m pretty sure those whiskers do absolutely nothing beneficial to Gyarados, maaaaaybe increasing Gyarados’ power during thunderstorms…?? idk x’D)

Oh and the eyes? I only made the male one have plus eyes and female one have minus eyes after I had finished spriting. Just a small difference :>

One more thing, the pillar(?) that is on Gyarados' crest is a lightning rod :D forgot to add this whoops >u>"

I can see why many people think of these two as ‘dead’ Pokemon (especially when it’s almost Halloween), but they don’t have any correlation towards that.
The colors I use are just thunderstorms color from Google’s stock images (search it and you'll see) x’D
(sorry if it looks like Frankenstein’s colors ^^”)

As for shiny color, I toned it down a bit to blue to blend better
Thinking about it… I was such a lazy person LOL
I could have made the shiny more worthy to shiny hunt x’D

You might be wondering, why thunderstorm?
Idk, I even suggested it evolving at level 50 during Thunderstorm LOL
(Look, I did not expect myself to win, ok? I did that as a troll x’D)
Glad Riako didn’t take that level 50 requirement to the game. That’d be painful as heck x’D
