CLOSED DUE TO LACK OF ENTRIES

The stars grew dim, but the sun never showed. In a moment, the sky was dark, as if the stars were extinguished in one fell swoop. With all traces is light gone but the Moon, it was only a matter of time before the human race, and all other life, would be gone as well. 4 years have passed, with 3 months left before The Cold. Most of humanity is gone, killed in the international panic and the reprocussions in the years following. Electricity has been gone for ages. The only ones left, are you.

Joe watched his watch tick down to midnight, before sighing and packing the watch away. It was useless anyway with the sun being gone and all. Breaking out a wrench, they screwed the last nut into place and stood back to marvel at his improvised drone. Fixing a antenna on top, he pressed the control, only for the drone to explode, and propel the blade into the wall beside him, almost impaling him by his throat. Prying the blade away, he sighed as he went back to work on the drone, to help him scout for any other survivors.
I stopped caring, I'm past that point in my life.

Quinn sighs. It seemed like only yesterday the sky was bright with life, the light polluting the dark abyss of night. Now, not even the stars twinkle across the black, empty sky. Several years ago, all light disappeared, and soon followed most of humanity. Pulling her coat over her thin shoulders, she dons her hood and sets off into the night. She never stays in one place too long; who knows who, or what, might be out there.

Joe looked over his supplies and realised his food and scrap metal was running out. Sighing, they dusted their hands off and got in their modified Range Rover with a heater in it. The scrap yard was close enough for a quick run, and the market was right beside it. Perhaps he could get a few more packs of beans as a treat for himself. Kicking the engine into motion, he drove out of his base and towards the scrap yard.
I stopped caring, I'm past that point in my life.

Through the dark, a single light pierces across the horizon. Cautiously, Quinn moves closer. It appeared to be a scrap yard of some kind. Someone must be nearby, Quinn thinks. The light couldn't have stayed on itself all these years. Trepidatiously, she enters, hiding behind a stack of cars and keeping an eye out.

In the scrapyard, joe was searching through the scraps with a lantern, occasionally picking up pieces of steel and examining them. Nodding in satisfaction at the small pile of metal he had gathered, he got into his car, and revved up the engine, light blazing from it. Slowly, the car began to back up and head out of the scrapyard.
I stopped caring, I'm past that point in my life.
