"Pokemon are creatures from back before doomsday. They're like magical creatures with abilities." he said. He pulled out the timer ball James gave him. "We use devices like these to comfortably encapsulate a pokemon to summon them when needed. They can be partners, pets or battling partners."

"So a pet with magic pretty much?" Nautilus asked, interested. "They sounds cool- wait was the ancient zapfish thing also a pokemon?"

Connie finished cleaning up the last of the wires. "I guess we can have a wire stash now?" she muttered. "At least Piranha pit is usable for the splatfest."

It is the final evolved form of Tynamo!” James said, before he tripped and the Ultra Revive hit the ground and started glowing “Oh boy…” Out from ground was a revived group of 3 Pokémon “The revive works on multiple Pokémon? That’s interesting…” the pokemon revived are Oshawott, Tepig,and Snivy “Ooh! Dibs on Oshawott!” Jesus said as he threw a somehow perfectly good Pokeblock at the Oshawott

there was a small cheering from Connie and the other inklings.

"We can battle here at the splatfest!" one of the other inklings said as others, including Connie nodded. "Oh my gosh I'm so excited! I thought we would have one stage less, thank goodness we cleaned this place up."

Nautilus looked at the ground "there is pokemon under our feet?"

"It's a special event where we split into two teams to decide which is the best." Nautilus explained. "so far we had Flight vs Invisibility, Knights vs Wizards, Chicken vs egg- that was a odd one for sure."

Callie and Marie were shock at all the pages in the Journal, so many creatures that used to live on this world, they were also slightly confused by how the Human handwriting differs from Inkling Alphabet

"Don't forget both trick vs treat splatfests Nautilus." Connie mentioned. "How did treat win twice in a row?" She asked.

"The ancient Fax machines decide the themes for us." Nautilus explained as all the cleaning up inklings left. "And then a week before the splatfest we decide our teams and get special T-shirts to represent our teams."

"Oh turf wars! the best part of Inkopolis!" Nautilus explained as Connie pulled up a video of a turf war tournament she filmed. "There are two teams of four and their goal is to paint the ground the most to win."

"There's also other more competitive modes.." Connie continued "But turf war is the only one that can be played during a splatfest."

"I'm a inkling." Connie answered, before pointing to Nautilus. "She's an octoling. you can tell the difference because of hair, eyes and when they become squid or octopus."

Nautilus nodded, becoming her octopus form, waving at the humans before returning back to humanoid.
