Harper only listened, not even once looking their way. She hummed
softly as she continued cleaning the room they were in. Harper
sighed softly, a bit distracted by their noises but didn't say a
thing back at them.

I woke up in a test tube in an empty room. "What the- this place...
it looks like a tornado hit it." I looked around and heard voices,
following them to a closed door. I cracked it open a bit and poked
my head out. "Hello?"
Floyd looked up at the sound of the door open. His solemn
expression quickly grew jovial again. "Oh, a newcomer!" he
exclaimed. He waved Zuzu over. "Over here, dude!" He smiled, but it
seemed shaky.

"Hey, everything okay?" Floyd tipped his head to the side, and then
saw Zuzu's hand. His eyes widened. "Oh wow, that's nice!" He
grinned, socially oblivious as always. "What're you mixed with?"

Finally done with cleaning the room, Harper sighed again. She
normally didn't like noises as she worked but then again, everyone
was probably confused as to what was happening.

"I have no frookin idea what's even going on, though I guess having
claws is nice." I jumped back a bit as my hand lit up. "HOLY CRAP."
I started moving the fire around a bit, readjusting my breathing.
"Okay, I woke up in a test tube with strangers plus claws and the
ability to set part of my body aflame. Did I go crazy? Am I on
drugs?"
Floyd snorted. "Well, if you're on drugs, then that'd mean I don't
exist, and I'm fairly confident in my own existence, so I'd have to
argue in favour of that." He took a step forward. "All jokes
aside-" he paused. "Do you really not know what's going on?"

"Alright..." she murmured to herself, her arms crossed. "Now that
I'm finished here, might as well find something to eat." Harper
stretched before glancing around. "There were some canned
vegetables here... Where were they again?" She opened a cabinet and
nodded. "Not much, but it'll do for now."

"I wish I knew, all I remember is being kidnapped as a child, then
a bunch of time in some void or something. Well, a least my body
doesn't have any more surpr-" I jumped as my other hand become
surrounded by lightning. "The universe just loooooves proving me
wrong. Any other powers for me, body?" I took a dramatic step
forward to emphasize my point, the recoiled when I realized how
fast i'd gone. "God, these sudden powers are gonna get me killed at
some point."
Floyd laughed. "'Least you got them." He held out his own hands
ruefully. "I don't have a clue about how to use mine." He ducked
his head. "Sorry to be a downer..."

Floyd blinked. Then a broad grin spread over his face. "Your
parents? That's true-" His eyes widened. "We need to find our
families- like, my brother... and your parents. They're probably
worried sick!" He faux shivered. "Mom's gonna kill me."

"Knowing mine-" I stopped. What did I remember about
my mom? My dad? "Well, i'm not sure. I was so young when I was
taken, I don't remember much about them. I can't even recall their
faces."
She leaned against the wall, eating the canned vegetables without a
word. When she was finished, Harper tossed the can into the closest
trash can and sighed, deciding to walk around the lab to see what's
been happening.

"Nothing looks much different..." Her voice trailed off as she
almost lost her balance, her head starting to ache. "Ah... Just a
little bit, nothing bad." Harper hummed softly, slowly recollecting
herself.
