"Yes! We're almost there!" Mystin cheered, and almost clapped his
hands, but remembered that he was still carrying Tidal. Right. No
clapping. Plus, his leg was killing him and that kind of ruined it
for him.
Her body finally reacting to the sunlight, Tidal drifted into a
sort of half-consciousness momentarily. It seemed as if every cell
of her body was screaming in agony. Though she was too weak to even
open her eyes, she imagined that she could feel someone's arms
beneath her. She wondered if she wasn't hallucinating, if she
wasn't still buried beneath the rocks, but she forced her lips to
move all the same, whispering softly, "Sorry," before slipping back
into darkness.
Mystin looked down when he realized that she was talking. "Nothing
to be sorry about, Xaiver is a huge pain, and evil to boot. And you
bought us enough time to get the Plate." He looked up. "Let's hurry
to the Pokece-Woah!" He was immeadeitntly covered in water.
"Again?! I just got dry!"
Mystin groaned. "You think I don't know that? But it's kind of hard
to tread water, let alone swim, when A, you can't swim, and B,
you're holding someone who's unconcious."
Seeing the crowd of unfamiliar people approach, Nurse Joy stepped
out from behind the desk to get a closer look at the newcomers. She
gasped as they drew closer, noticing a clearly injured woman being
carried by a man with blood trickling down the side of his leg near
the back of the group. "Oh my goodness!" She cried, running back
inside. As she hurried to get everything prepared, she called to
her partner, "Chansey, get two stretchers and meet me out front!"
Mystin shook his head. "No, no, she needs help more than I do." He
refrained from using Tidal's name because the strangeness of it
might make Nurse Joy suspicious. "See? I am f-fine, she's
unconcious." Still, his leg did hurt. A lot.
Nurse Joy waved away the man's protests as she busied about getting
the woman onto the first stretcher comfortably. "We have enough
staff," she said as a second Chansey emerged from the building to
help.
"I don't have time to argue with you, your friend is badly hurt. If
you want her to get medical attention as quickly as possible, stop
wasting time and sit down," she said briskly as she began to move
the pale woman back towards the Center.
