“If we can get this situation sorted out quickly...your father can
never reach Luminia. Not without illegal means...and this area is
on high guard always.” Emerald said. “Tell him exactly what
happened...and well...there’s no trace of you down on earth
so...it’s hard to believe that anyone would know about this place.
Dad said that he had asked around about this place when he lived
down there, no one knew a thing about it. And it’s all because of
King Tempest. He keeps these islands hidden.”
Rushelle raised an eyebrow. "You're seriously going to put up with
me forever? Eventually, you'll get tired of me and I'll go back to
the dojo. It always happens at one point or another."
“How can you say that...?! There’s no way I’m letting you go back
down! Not after hearing that! Your life is forfeit if you go back
down there!” Emerald said, tears in his eyes. “I won’t let you walk
to your death! Once my father and his friends hear about this, they
won’t let you go down without guarding you!” Emerald almost choked
while saying this. “And I promised to be your friend...you’re so
energetic...you’re so fun to be around, I don’t want to lose you!”
“Cross my heart and hope to die. I will not let you be in danger
like that.” Emerald said earnestly. “I don’t want to see you
hurt...and I want to see you happy.”
Rushelle smiled. "Thanks...I can't thank you enough. It's really
been tough, and telling you about this was one of the most
relieving things I've ever done. I just can't believe that I don't
have to go back to that house of horrors."
Rushelle bit her lip. "Theres something I need to tell you." She
told him everything about her father and what had happened before
she met Emerald and after she went home.
After Yung heard what she had to say, he put a paw on his desk and
breathed in deeply. “Oh dear...That is troubling to say the least.
You’re not the first person I had bail out of such a situation.” He
looked at her. “But you’re safe here. Azure and I will write to
King Tempest about this situation and we’ll have a no-entry order
placed on your father. But the question is...what do you want to do
now in Luminia? You can’t go back down. It’s too dangerous. Do you
want to live in a separate house? Or—“
Yung patted her shoulder and gave her a fatherly hug. “I’ll get the
paperwork sorted and everything will be alright. If you have
tears...I wouldn’t hold them in. You’ll hurt from the inside. But
regardless of that...welcome to the family.” His hug was soft, warm
and fluffy
Rushelle was about to say something, but she started crying.
"I-I've wanted to do that for so long, I've never gotten the chance
to cry." She covered her eyes with her paws, sobbing.
“It’s alright. You’ll be safe with us. I don’t know when you wanted
to call me father or whatever but take your time. We’ll make sure
life in Luminia is paradise for you. As it should be.” Yung smiled
as he held her close to him in a warm hug
