“RUSHE!” She was greeted by Emerald who was ecstatic at the sight
of her entering his room. His chair had fallen over and he stood
there tail wagging. Immediately the weirdest thing about his room
was that his room had no bed. There was a giant red balloon in the
corner in his room
“You came! You came!” Emerald was so happy as he pulled her into
the room. “It’s so great to see you!” He wondered if she’d react to
his balloon bed yet..that was usually the first thing that people
noticed
Emerald turned around and began giggling. “It’s made by my dad’s
friend, he owns the party shop! Why don’t you hop on! I promise you
the squeaks are as funny, maybe even funnier then the bubbles.
Because they’re louder~.”
Rushelle grinned. "Now that sounds like fun." She got on the
balloon and bounced up and down a little. "You weren't kidding
about the squeaks! I love it!"
The squeaks were definitely something else altogether. The balloon
creaked and squeaked with Rushelle’s bouncing. It also wrapped
around her nicely too when she landed on it. Emerald watched with
an extremely happy expression
“Is something the matter?” He could feel something was different.
He sat doen on his bed. “If you don’t want to say it...I don’t
mind, if you do, I do want to help you.”
Rushelle stopped bouncing. She wanted to tell him. She was tired of
secrets. "I will tell you then. Remember how I told you that my dad
pressured me when I didn't want to inherit his dojo?"
"That wasn't a lie. But it wasn't the whole truth. My dad..he
decided that instead of me naturally accepting what he expected me
to do, he would make me. He..my dad's the kind of guy that doesn't
like to be talked back to. And I'm not that. So, he made me push my
limits to a point that I thought I was going to shatter into a
million pieces. When mom disappeared, he got worse. Angrier. The
reason I didn't know what cameras or comic books? I've never seen
them until I met you. Dad never let anything from the outside world
come into the dojo, and he never let me leave. I ran away just to
get to Genesis Academy. He was constantly watching my every
move..always watching."
Rushelle shook her head. "I left no clues to where I was going. He
has no idea, and I'd rather that it stay that way. He gets..angry
whenever I break one of his rules."
“...” Emerald put a paw pn her. “This place is absurdly hard to get
to without directions. Plus, there is customs to get up here. That
teleporter would not work unless you had been approved by the king
himself. That’s why it’s taken so long for me to get back to
you...” he looked at her. “Talk to dad. He’s helped others in your
situation before. He isn’t recognised as a hero for nothing.”
Rushelle looked back at him. "What do I say? Hey, I just wanted to
say that my dad's been keeping me as a shut-in and nearly breaking
me? You're the only other person besides me and my dad that knows
this even happens!"
