"Um, I..." Lupos rose, rather stunned. She shook herself off,
regaining confidence. "Of course." She then added, mumbling, "Not
like anyone else needs me for anything..." A final longing glance
was cast at her burning hometown, before she set off after the fox.
She took large hops to keep up, thinking of a question. "Where are
we going?" She asked between breaths, clearly struggling to keep
up.
''The place where the others are still in stone. Chop Chop, We
don't have all day! We need to free the others to bring peace to
our world again.''
He arrived at the mouth of the forest, walking in. He stood on a
large stone circle in the middle. In the middle were the same gems
the statues had on them, all in a circle. But one was missing. Each
gem had a long line pointing to a stone statue of a fox. The fox
had the jewels for eyes and it was standing on a small pillar. Each
fox also had a hole carved in its chest in the shape of a jewel. He
took out a light yellow jewel, holding it up to the sun.
''Who wants to do the honours and bring back Ray?''
Dusk sat down nearby, swiftly licking one paw. "You said something
about me doing Flare, so I suppose someone else may." Not that Dusk
really cared, this whole 'legend' thing happening upon her so
suddenly, however, she'd at least expected some kind of quest, not
that the first gem would come so easy
Zander shook his head quickly, then hurried his chubby body after
the Spirit. As soon as he did, he froze, looking around. His maw
was wide open with shock, his eyes twinkling. He stood up on his
hind feet and waddled around the area, eventually arriving at
Alpha's statue.
Lupos watched the embrace, her head tilted. Her eyes were wide -
she hadn't closed them as the light brightened, leaving her
temporarily blinded. After blinking a few times, she was able to
see again, so inspected the two foxes. They appeared to be polar
opposites - one more dark, and devil-like, the other light and
angelic. She continued staring, not knowing what else to do.
Samurai looked around. He had no idea what was happening, his head
really couldn’t comprehend this.... nor could he wrap around it. He
shuttered as he watched the heartwarming scene.
Dusk sighed as she got up, uncurling her tail from where it rested
over her front paws. "Well, let's get going then." She started to
trot past the statues, not at all in awe of the flashy lights and
magic fairy tail animals dancing around her.
Zander found himself on top of a different statue, having bolted
when Phantom lunged and shouted. His grabby little front paws had
splayed themselves on top of the statue's head, his hind paws on
it's small shoulders. He peeked up from behind the statue,
hyperventilating.
Lupos noticed someone hiding behind a statue near her, so hopped
over to them. She leapt onto his back, then strode over to his head
and sat there. After a moment of silence, she asked, "Does it feel
like they're using us to you?" This would probably make him jump,
seeing as he probably didn't notice her. Her size and weight
sometimes annoyed her.
Zander nearly shot into orbit. He wasn't expecting anything of the
sort. He settled himself, grabbing his tail and smoothing it down
from when it has fluffed up. He looked up, then around, looking for
the source of the voice. "Uhm... H-hello?" The dark colored raccoon
turned in a full circle, not noticing the small creature on his
head.
Lupos chuckled slightly. "Up here, smarty-pants." She jumped on his
head once, making a feeling like a small raindrop hitting his head.
Figuring he wouldn't take kindly to having a conversation with an
amphibian sat on his head, she hopped onto the statue in front of
him. There she sat, her unblinking eyes staring at the raccoon.
Zander dipped his head a little when she jumped. When she hopped
onto the statue in front of him, he tilted his head a little. "Oh!
Hello." He set his head down on the statue's head as well, a few
inches from her. "My name is Zander. What's yours?" He gave a
sort-of smile, although it ended looking more like a snarl.
Raccoons clearly weren't meant to smile.
She stepped back a little from Zander as he smiled, thinking that
he was about to eat her. With her voice shaking slightly, she
replied, "Lupos. It's nice to meet you, Zander." She crossed her
arms then, as well as a frog could cross their arms, steeling
herself. "D'you reckon we get anything from helping these
people?" Usually she only did things if there was a reward waiting
for her at the end, so she was expecting the same of this. She
shuffled a little further back, finding the racoon's large,
different coloured eyes and teeth intimidating.
Samurai looked towards Alpha. He had never seen a more beautiful
mammal in his life. He smiled slightly as his tounge tasted the air
with deep ambition.
