Grimacing slightly, he kept a hand on her back, simply rubbing it as he murmured encouragements and sweet nothings, supporting most of her weight on his shoulder. Nova's trembling grip on the garbage can was loosened as Gateguard held it for her as he simply kept her close.

Taking the opportunity to drop her head down on Adeline's shoulder, Kardia simply stood there, humming a tuneless melody as she gently swayed back and forth. She didn't say anything, hoping that just being there for her would help distract the other girl from her woes, even if it was just for a second

"Oh god." Nova uttered between gasps for air, her voice echoing in the trashcan. "I'm so sorry for putting you through this Gategaurd." When the bout ended Nova rasied her head up a little ways to try to put some distance between the ex-stomach contents. Another somewhat more harsher lurch made Nova's face disapear again as she heaved.

He was about to reply when Nova's face disappeared back into the can and he smiled sympathetically and rubbed her back. "It's no problem." He soothed, brushing back some strands of hair that had dislodged, using a napkin to help wipe her mouth. "Trust me, this isn't the worst thing that I've been through."

Emmie's mind is whirling. She squeaks again. "Whoareyou?" her speech is jumbled, slurred. Her eyes are alight with fear.



Rose looks up slowly. "Echo?" she mutters aloud. "Why is he-" she shakes her head. "He can't be out here to find me." she decides. "Hm, spying seems like a good idea." she begins tree hopping, quietly moving from tree to tree.

Echo frowned, running a hand through his hair as he walked. His clothes were starting to get snagged by the various wildlife around. "I mean, I can just leave, right? It's not like she'll ever know." He mumbled to himself, before shaking his head. "No, I'd just be proving her right..." He sighed lifting up his hands in a mock megaphone, starting to once again call out for Rose.

"Looking for me?" Rose calls, from the tree right above Echo. She swings to a lower branch right above his head. She flashes hi a grin and flips down, landing perfectly on her feet. "How very... nice... of you." she mutters. "Still attempting to be a good person?" she teases.

Echo frowned a little as she swung down. Rose seemed fine, and this whole time he had been thinking she was hurt. He shook his head, giving a small grin. "Well, if I remember correctly, the 24 hours still aren't up." He said, with a small chuckle. "And no one else seemed to be looking for you so I guessed I would have to go and be the hero."

"You were worried." she teased. "Admit it." her eyes glitter with laughter and the moon pendant on her forehead catches the light of the tree moon whenever Rose turns. She raises an eyebrow while she waits for an answer. She puts her hands on her hips.

Echo spluttered, at a loss for words. He gave a rather exaggerated scoff, slightly turning away. "I most certainly was not. I just..." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I just had to make sure you were around when I succeeded the challenge." He huffed, turning an eye back to Rose.

Rose leans forward, so she can whisper something in his ear."Don't hide your true intentions, tell me how you really feel." she purrs, grinning. A strand of her pale pink hair curls around her ear, bouncing every time she moved her head. "You did care." she says. In one quick movement, she kisses him. She steps back, smiles and turns around. She calmly walked away from him, smiling as she did.

Echo was thoroughly stunned, standing still in shock. He blinked a few times, his brain seemingly just failing. He stood there for a few moments, frozen in place as his brain tried to grasp what had happened. Finally he felt freed from the strange paralysis, and he jogged to catch back up to Rose. "W- wait for me!" He stammered, slowing to a walk as he arrived by her side. He took a quick glance at her before quickly looking away. "Just thought you might need a guide back, just so you don't get lost..."

When Nova had finally finished, for now at least, she set the trashcan aside and put her head on his shoulder, shutting her eyes to help ease her stomach, which was now angrily churning for being suddenly emptied. As Gateguard helped wipe her mouth he found that his relief Nova's face regained some color back though, she still looked a bit queasy. "I thought maybe puking would be the worse thing to happen. If this isn't, I hate to ask, but what is?"

Rose slowly takes Echo's hand. "Sure thing." she says warmly. She meets his eyes whenever he looks at her. She grins at him before brushing her hair out of her face. As they walk, Rose realizes how much she enjoys his company. She looks back, at the river. She swallows back a gasp, because standing behind her is what looks like a faint outline of a girl. One with red hair. The girl nods her approval before disappearing.

"Is something wrong?" Echo asked, turning towards Rose, still trying to hide the worry in his eyes, though not as much as before. She had almost seemed to hesitate, and she appeared to be looking at something. When he took a glance in the direction of her stare he saw nothing.

Echo put a finger to his chin, almost like he was thinking. "Well, you did say there's not really a point to doing the challenge if I were to do something bad right away." He said, giving a small shrug. A small smile was on his face as he continued. "And it would be a shame if I had spent all this time looking for you for nothing."

Echo felt his face heat up a little at her words, but let out a small huff. He watched as she brushed more hair out of her face, and he moved a little closer. He brushed a small strand to the side, giving a small, teasing grin. "You seem to be doing that quite a bit. Am I making you nervous?"
