Yoru tilted her head at Fen. "Yeah, just pokemon. What else could
possibly live here? Humans never come unless it's super important."
She tapped her paw on the table, thinking. There had been
more reports from sighting seeming to originate from the Dark
Woods, but everyone just seemed to brush that off.
Fen shifted his weight from one paw to the other uncomfortably.
This would be harder to explain than he thought. He glanced at
Noba, who was quite possibly having the same thoughts. "So...
pokemon, got it." He pauses. "Anything else we should know?"
Noba just let Fen talk. He was, more of less, voicing his thoughts
anyway. He was eager to know more. Once again, he sidles over to
Fen and floofed his fur over him, just to be friendly
Midnight silently ate her food, her eyes looking everywhere but the
group. She felt her entire body tense with fear. She wanted to be
alone. She was scared of what other pokemon might think of her.
Yoru shrugged. "Nothing really. Other than, whatever you do, stay
out of the Dark Woods." She had been told that ever since
she was a pup, now, she didn't know just who these newcomers were,
but she figured stressing the warning wouldn't be too harmful. She
took a second to take a bite of food, a piece of slowpoke tail, and
chow down, letting the delicious flavor seep from the meat as she
looked at the newcomers. She wanted to know more about them, but
getting that info wasn't very easy.
Fen tilted his head, and drummed his claws on the table to keep his
paws doing something. "What's in the dark woods?" Fen asked.
"Whatever it is, it must be pretty bad," He reasoned calmly, as he
felt Noba slide over next to him.
Yoru shrugged. "I've never been there, but I have heard that evil
and murderous pokemon live there. I've never heard of anyone there
making it out alive." She didn't look too fearful of the monsters.
She always assumed that the pokemon just got lost. That was
scary enough on its own.
“Hmn...Alright...” Noba slowly nodded as he listened. Forbidden
areas were nothing new, sometimes they were just superstitions. But
in a foreign world...with no idea where they are...it would be nice
to keep it in mind. But now...
“Right...now where doth we stay?” He wanted to find out if they had
a place or not. They needed a home at least if they were going to
be stuck here for a while
Fen looked confused. "Why don't you just build in there a little
bit, add some light or something?" This began getting the building
and planning side on his head involved. "That way, you can't get
lost, and if you do it a little at a time, you can map out the
place," He reasoned. He was getting of track, though. "But I
digress. Okay, I won't go in." He stands up and stretched his canid
body, which feels strange. "What now?"
"Would you be willing to settle in a forest filled with monsters?"
She took another bite of the tail. "But, there is my house to stay
if you want somewhere to sleep. I have plenty of guest rooms." She
just needed to finish her food...but she thought maybe it would be
easier to talk in a private area instead of a room filled with the
chatter of other customers.
Fen nods, happy to accept the offer, but a little embarrased to be
taking so many things from strangers. "Thank you!" He thinks for a
minute. "I don't have anything physical, but if you ever need a
favour of any sort, just ask me. It's not like I'll be doing too
much else anyways..." He thinks out loud.
Noba nodded. “That would be appreciated...thank you.” He slowly
wagged his tail. He looked forward to have somewhere to rest and
mull things over, with his friends. He still wasn’t sure what to
make of Yoru and Yami though
Yoru notices an Absol approaching them. "Oh? Hold up." she turned
to face the disaster pokemon. "Can I help you?" She kept her ears
pricked back towards the others for whatever they had to say, but
she felt curious about this stranger clearly wishing to talk to
them.
Now Yoru just looked utterly confused, then she started laughing
her head off. "What?! No one lives there! Pokemon supposedly
murder you if you step in! Also, that place is a maze. There
can't be a pokemon living there and still have people
talking legends about it. Stop seeking attention!"
"Oh I'm sorry for trying to help!" Midnight spat, tears in her
eyes. "I guess you'll have to live by rumors!" She said, walking
away. "I shouldn't have done that." She murmured. "I really am just
a dumb idiot."
