The Leafeon give you the 'okay'. You and the other pokemon leave
the hospital and go into the town in a confused group. You are told
to stay together, and you are greeted by a Mew, told to be your
guide through the town that is unfamiliar.
The town is a well lit, thriving community, shops in rows and
houses and restaurants down and around every corner, with a park
and pokemon happily chatting while eating or working. The mew
clears its throat and speaks, taking your attention away from you
thoughts on the city.
"So these are the mysterious pokemon. Glad to see you've woken up!"
The Mew smiles. "Hello there. Welcome to our town!" She studied the
pokemon, hoping they'd tell her more, as pokemon showing up
unconscious on the town's borders was bound to peak somebody's
interest, especially hers, making her ecstatic to be chosen to be
their guide.
Fen looks up, admiring the town's architecture (his dream job is to
one day be an architect). Indeed, the town does look impressive,
and bustling with other pokemon. Fen looks down at his paws. I'm
a pokemon.... how? The words spiraled through his head. The
details were fuzzy, but Fen remembered one thing for certain. He
had NOT been a pokemon. He was a human... but now he wasn't. He
stumbled, getting used to being a quadreped.
"Thanks for... everyone being so kind and taking care of us...
but..I....I'm sorry... I don't belong here." Fen looks at the mew
nervously. "I'm so confused..." He was usually quite a serious
person, but he got really nervous when he couldn't find out what
was going on.
The Mew giggles. "Well duh! I figured as much, as none of the
pokemon in our town look like you." She narrowed her eyes at the
Rockruff. She supposed waking up from unconsciousness would
be confusing. She wondered....no, that wasn't possible! They looked
normal enough. "Well, anyway, my name is Yoru. I'll be your guide
through the town, kay?"
Fen nodds, looking back down at his paws. Everything was so
confusing... he felt like he was going to faint, and stumbled
again. Concentrate on something else, he mentally ordered
himself. Your hunger. The amazing town. Just not... Of
course trying to not think about being a human did the opposite.
His vision blurred again. "P-please can I get something to eat?" He
asked. Maybe some food would improve his mental state.
"Surely you're going to introduce yourself first?" She tilted her
head. Food could be arranged, certainly, but she had to know more
about these pokemon before she went around buying stuff for them.
Heck, what name was she supposed to use for the orders if she
didn't even know their names?
"I'm Fen," He answers. What else could he say? Where he was from?
It was hard to remember, but it definitely wasn't here. Favourite
colour? Food? Not important, and a little cringy to be honest.
"I-I'm sorry... I don't remember much, but I can try to tell you
more if you ask something specific," He finally responds. The mew
seems trustworthy enough... and even though he didn't know much
about her, who else could he trust? "What's your name?" He asked,
trying to observe the pink pokemon.
"Oh? Didn't I say already? I'm extremely forgetful. It's Yoru." She
racked her brain, she was sure she'd introduced herself
already, oh well. "Now, if your friends would be so kind as to tell
me their names, we could head over to that buffet for some food. My
sister works as a staff there."
Fen shakes his head as if to clear his thoughts. "Aah, sorry... my
mind just feels really cloudy and fogged up... I don't remember
much." He turns to look at the pokemon beside him. They looked to
be a Popplio, a Growlithe, and some sort of pig pokemon... Tapig or
something? Fen couldn't remember. One thing was for certain though.
"I don't... think I know these people..." He tells Yoru. Surely he
would have remembered if these were his friends.
As if on cue, the Growlithe yawned and woke up. Where on earth was
he? Last thing he remembered was writing something....calligraphy,
that was it. He stood up, only to realise he was much shorter then
he was before. “Eh?” He looked at his paws, and realised he was a
Growlithe. He simply sighed. What had he gotten himself into? He
rushed over, after realising he was being left behind
Yoru turned her attention to the growlithe. "Hello there? My name's
Yoru, I'm your guide!" The striped pokemon seemed to look equally
as confused as Fen did. The thought crossed her mind again...she
needed to talk to her sister first.
“Where am I? I thought....thou only existed in a figment of
famtasy?” It seemed as though, sometimes, occasionally,
old-fashioned words slipped into his speech. He wasn’t particularly
old or anything, he just had a fascination for the history
and....unintentionally picked up old speaking habits, but they
didn’t show often. “Thou mayst call me Mononobe...” he paused and
cleared his throat, and looked down, slightly embarrassed.
“....just call me Noba.” He said in a more normal tone
"Fen and Noba. Nice to meet you both!" She thought about Fen's
earlier request for food. "I can get a discount for you guys if
you're okay with a buffet for lunch." Yoru's sister's workplace
wasn't even very far from this hospital, they could skip over there
quickly, which she liked.
Fen looked at Noba. The way Noba has spoken sounded like old
english... he'd read something like that before for sure, but
couldnt' remember what. That probably wasn't important though. Noba
probably remembered as much as him... so not much at all. He felt
empathetic, and gave him a small smile. "I'm Fen!" He exclaimed.
"Were in... a pokemon town of some sort." He nods at Yoru, happy to
have something to distract his fast mind. "Food sounds great,
thanks."
“Food sounds alright, sure.” Noba nodded appreciatively as he
looked at Fen. He seemed alright, he hoped. He just hoped the old
English didn’t get in the way of things
"Okay then. Follow me, to the all you can eat buffet down the
street!" Yoru began making her way down the street, past the
trading shops and down to a large-ish building with a neon sign
saying 'All You Can Eat Down the Street'.
Fen padded after Yoru, tripping over his own paws several times. He
never was the most athletic, but this was a whole new level. Noba
didn't look too comfortable either... perhaps they'd been in a
similar situation? He turned to Yoru, wanting more answers. "I was
unconcious and woke up in the hospital," He stated. "Where did you
find me?"
Noba slowly followed them, listening into the conversation and
trying to discern any new information. He wasn’t sure if Fen had
been in a similar situation or what but it didn’t seem likely given
his mannerisms. The Mew might have information though, and he
needed to hear it
Yoru shrugged at the door. "It was on the border furthest from the
woods. That's all I know." She still felt suspicious of the new
arrivals, but not in a fearful way. She never took the legends of
the Dark Woods seriously. She opened the door and held it for them.
"Let's save all further questions for the table, kay?"
Fen nodds. He wish he had some sort of strategy game to fiddle with
to distract himself from drowning himself with his own questions.
Something like chess... or a rubix cube. Yeah, he remembered he
liked those. He thanks Yoru for holding open the door (people NOT
thanking a door holder was a strange, specific personal pet peeve
of his), and walks in, taking a seat. Fen felt sort of
uncomfortable around all the pokemon... he used to be a human,
after all. He thought about saying it right now, but he would sound
crazy probably, and it was easier to answer if he was asked.
Noba also thanked Yoru, and sat down near Fen. He just...wasn’t
sure about the whole situation. He didn’t know what he wanted to
ask at the moment, so he stayed quiet. He had a lot to ask...but
needed to collect his thoughts first
