Don't you remember last time? This always ends up tragic, Cass. Always when you and the rest of your family is involved-" Syd's suddenly interrupted by Mals, who's voice is as exhausted as he looks. "They're not our family. Not all of them."

Once Mals was injured and it was determined to be long-term, I volunteered to stay with him. It is his choice whether we wants to get back in or not, but what I do with my own life is entirely my decision. I intend on lending a hand." Cass replies.

"I'm afraid we can't ask you to do that. It's far too dangerous. We've already lost many minor deities, and humans are like cannon fodder." Cass replies. "But," Mals says, "it's not like we can stop you. Well, we can but most of the solutions are frowned upon. So, as long as you know the dangers, I don't mind if you help out. You're not particularly great for muscle, but you can still be useful. Jax can deal with the fighters."

"Good, it's the only one you're getting." Cass stands up. "I'm going to go find my sister, wherever she is. You should probably figure out a way to get a secure connection to Haven, Mals." The boy shrugs, getting to his feet as well. "Sure, I guess. Shouldn't be that hard." Without another word, they head in their opposite directions, Mals towards the basement, Cass towards the front door. "You'll find out more as you go. They tend to be a little secretive. And by I little I mean hiding basically everything they can get away with." Syd says.
