"Oh you learn fast." Mals says as he glancing at the rubik's cube. His face is carefully constructed to seem mostly relaxed, if slightly thoughtful, but inside he's worried and confused. Two species have the ability to create a box like this, and only one would send it to Earth... no, that can't be right. He'll have to try later, though. But Syd could always find out - where would he even go to do something away from her? He rarely left the house, he didn't have a safe haven away from the basement, and even that wasn't entirely his. Mals's thoughts are interrupted by Cassie as she pokes her head into the living room. "Hey, we watching that movie tonight? What are we eating for dinner?"

"Uh, no you're not. The movie is mandatory." Mals replies. "And it's Cassie's turn to pick tonight." He glances at said dark-haired girl. She just shrugs and says. "Cloverfield? We haven't watched that in a while." Mals smiles. "Great, I'll get Syd!" Then he dashes off up the stairs.

(Mals came home with a weird box, now they're going to watch a movie. Nothing particularly interesting yet)

"Mals, I'm busy." Syd groans as she's dragged down the stairs. "Never too busy for movie night! It's a once a week thing! You know, you always complain about how I spend all my time downstairs and then you go and do something like this. It'll only be two hours, at the max!" Mals replies, seemingly unaffected by the way Syd is dragging her heels.
