@~skid~ What's nuts about it? Having this feature inevitably is just gonna be people flexing their best pokemon, because they worked hard for it, and yeah, of course that would be their favorite. It isn't like having superpowerful pokèmon showing on your profile is OP, because they aren't battling to the death, they're just on display. There's absolutely nothing wrong with showing off your SM or legendary, just like it would be with say, showing them off in your party.

Also, as *MuddyUnicorn* said, Starters can be mega/shiny/giga, and it shows on profiles as well, so it wouldn't be new. In fact, I'd argue being able to show off your own shiny/mega/giga/legendary favorite as your partner would be more fair for players, as not everyone was lucky enough to hatch a special starter.

I would like to say that I support this idea. Not with the term "Pet" pokemon, but "Partner" pokemon. (commenting on this difference because of how some posts use the terms interchangeably) Similar to how you get partner pokemon in the ranger series of games. A pokemon that bonds with you and sticks with you rather than being a starter you were given that you may or may not connect with.

Don't get me wrong, I like Tora and all, but he's never been that important to me. XatXat (or just Xat), on the other hand, is Navuso the Trainer's partner pokemon in his backstory. Xat is not his first pokemon, even there, but this Xatu was a Natu that he wound up bonding with and now they are inseparable.

But I don't keep Xat in my party, as the first slot in my party is reserved for my Luck Dragon, and I like being able to use five slots in my party for other things. (Going down to 4 feels a bit too limiting for my tastes)

Full support, I hate it shows up on my profile and I can’t do anything with it. I would also like an option to change starter pokemon, because it’s the only thing on PH I regret, but can’t change

The Chikorita line contains my favorite Pokemon and I am very happy to have gotten Chikorita as my starter by chance. However if you've ever looked at my profile it's pretty clear who my main Pokemon is...
