Willow hummed as she stopped at the street corner and looked up to look at the street sign, then turned left as she headed for the old church.
she glanced around and relaxed a little, so far having no trouble, but was still a little weary since it was way too quiet.
He silently cursed the acoustics of the sewers before holstering his gun in the inside of his jacket, pulling a dagger out of his victim's hand as a token and stowing it away.
He ran out of the alleyway towards the area he had heard the humming, his eyes mirroring shock. "W-willow?" Rowan stammered, actually a bit surprised to see her. "Why are you here? We need to get out--damned gunner might get us," he said rushedly, glancing behind him quickly and taking her wrist firmly as he rushed away with her in tow.
Didn't even have enough time to take care of the corpse, he thought, scowling. Knowing that killing Willow also wasn't an option, he was now determined to escort her as far away from the area as possible.

the moment Rowan came into view her eyes widened and her ears shot up, and she was about answer him when he cut her off and practically dragged her in the complete opposite direction of her route.
she soon started running with him, just enough so she didn't trip, and pinned her ears back while looking at him utterly confused.
''Rowan what's going on? i need to get back to my delivery, if Jinx put you up to this you can tell her that this isn't fair'' she said, simply assuming Jinx didn't trust her enough and just wanted to scare her.
"Listen," he said, panting. "I'm sorry that your... delivery or whatever had to be interrupted like that. I'll walk you to the delivery spot, yeah? That way neither of us are alone." He offered a cheeky lopsided smile, pulling his hand away from hers.

''listen here you f---in' a--hole, my delivery can wait...... i want some answers as to what the f--- is going on... and your not getting out of this question, cause if whatever's going on threatens my life and i end up killed? oh you better believe i'll haunt your sorry a-- til the day you die, understand....?'' she asked, a low yet audible growl rumbling in her throat.
she kept her voice down since Rowan ended up dragging them towards the market district of the sewer, and didn't want to cause panic.
"I'll say it again, I'm sorry that we happened to be close to what was probably a bunch of gang f**kery at the worst possible time, but I don't know what the hell you expect me to do about it," Rowan lowered his tone and steadied it, matching her growl with an even darker one. "I don't know how many close encounters you've had in this craphole but I highly recommend you just carry on with your day and staying as far away from danger as possible since we both damn well know that this won't be the last time something like this happens here."

she almost seemed to shrink under his gaze, but the sudden anger that he had was what actually made her shrink back a bit in fear, tail tucking tightly against her leg.
tears soon started welling up in her eyes as she clenched her jaw and simply listened to him, but it only seemed muffled as her mind fought with her emotions for a bit, then soon focused back in after she recollected herself and sighed shakily.
''your not the same sweet Rowan i first met, even if we hardly knew each other.... don't ever come near me or Yuzuki ever again....'' she muttered in a strained tone, as if it pained her to say it, then stormed off towards the apothecary without another word.

Jack stared blankly out of the window and watched raindrops merge into each other on the pane. The sheets of constant rain obscured their view of the sky with flurries of gray--all Jack could think about was how inconvenient it would be to travel in post-rain. Good for hiding and whatnot, but he had never been fond of cold or rainy weather. The loud clinks against the roof of the motel was an ease off the anxious thoughts that flurried in his mind.
"Hey, Crystal?" He called, curling his tail around so that the tip barely touched his lap. "Is this... really a good idea?" He bit his lip when he asked the question. Crystal wasn't quite the most stable person to dump all of his worries on. "I mean, we should at least have a backup plan in case... well, in case the refugee camp doesn't actually exist."

Willow got sat down and tucked her legs underneath herself, curling her tail around her waist and just tried to curl and hide while holding her wrist, Rowan having unknowingly injured it accidentally.
she just seemed to shutdown, staring at the ground as the tears that had welled up in her eyes started running freely down her face.

Crystal was sitting at the foot of the bed she chose and was hugging her legs with one arm and holding a book in the other, her one ear swiveled towards him as he asked his question and sighed.
''i agree on that..... cause this refugee camp could actually be some myth... but.... all we can do is hope it does exist Jack, and if it doesn't then.. then we can just sneak back into the city and find an abandoned house somewhere along the outskirts'' she said, hugging her legs a little tighter.
"M'kay," he said simply, sliding underneath the blankets of his bed. "Goodnight, Crystal," Jack mumbled in a sleep-drunken state before finally letting himself rest.

[idk let's call this a week or so later]
"Hey, Mango?" Silver asked suddenly, her tone softened. She tightened her hands around the small cup of tea that she had been holding. Her tone wavered despite her strong composure and her milky brown eyes held his gaze. "I know I haven't known you long, but, um... you've been a nice friend, I guess."

Mango was sipping his cup of tea while sitting across from Silver rather contently before perking up and looked at her, ear's swiveled forward as he listened to her speak.
he noted how her tone was wavering and how her hands gripped the cup she held, but didn't think much of it as he sat his down and smiled, reaching over and gently pulling the glass free from her hands.
''tighten your grip any further and you'd probably shatter this... anyway, it's been nice having someone around my age to hangout with again, sure hanging around children is great, but you can't talk about more adult things or politics with them and stuff like that.... y'know, normal teenager and adult chitchats...'' he chuckled softly, letting her hands go and setting the cup of tea on the table.

Mango's ear's slowly began to flatten, his gaze almost clouding before it seemed to clear.
''c-can't.... can't they send someone else...? why are they insisting you go out there?'' he asked, trying his hardest to hide the light tremble that was in his tone but ultimately failing.

''you told me once that you tried doing some frontline work but decided that it wasn't for you.... didn't you tell your boss that.....?'' he asked quietly.
"If I go out there, I don't believe I'll be able to come back. They'll break my mind and god knows what else they'd do to me, what augmentations they'd use to ruin us..." Her eyes cast to the floor and she began to regret telling Mango in the first place, worrying that she was putting him in a bad spot. I need to stop talking, she chastised herself, he already knows too much.
She hung her head and asked anyway, "Mango, would it be selfish to run? They're inhumane, war-drunk people... I can't do this."

''it isn't selfish to run, Silver... if it is to them than so be it..'' he stated softly.
he gently cupped the side of her face with his free hand and placed his forehead against the top of her head while closing his eyes, ears flattening backwards slightly.
''i don't want to loose you to this war too'' he whispered, almost too quiet for even Silver to hear but was still able for her to catch.
She pulled away and stood up. "I have to go, Mango. You've... been nice. Thank you," she said bluntly, unable to meet his gaze. She gathered her things and walked towards the door.

he quickly stood up and reached out before she got too far and grabbed her hand.
''Silver please.....! i don't care if i'm being the selfish one now... my own mother died out on the frontlines cause of those monsters, i don't want you to fall victim to them too...!'' he almost sobbed, trying not to cause too much of a scene since they were in a public area.
