I really like what this is suggesting, and I feel like this could result in more advanced-lit rps being made. I guess to add onto this, maybe there could be like three subforums? For example, like what KrazyKarp said, with a third semi-lit subforum being between the advanced-lit and beginner's forums.

I am 100% in support of this. It absolutely killed me going onto the RP subforum looking to join an RP on here and all of them pretty much boiled down to one-liners and weak posts. A lit/semi-lit section would be very much appreciated.

In lieu of this, I suppose one could just make RPs with a (Lit) or (Semi-lit) tag in the title, but having them all in one place and not having to sift through all the other RPs would be really nice and make things easier for the more advanced roleplayers on here.

I fully support this. It's annoying to have to search through tons of simple, one-liner, RPs with weak plots and boring characters to try and find that one glimmer of a good, advanced RP with an interesting plot. I also don't like being in quality RPs, only to have one user who makes one-line posts or has bad grammar. I joined one RP, only to leave when the majority of posts were one-liners, one of them being: '(Character) walks around'. A subforum for advanced roleplayers would easily solve this problem.

I 100% support this.
As a very creative person, I usually go to roleplays to feed my need of typing but, most of the roleplays I want to join are mostly one-liners, which is alright since I can be a flexible person and can bend my ways of typing, but I mostly prefer roleplays where other roleplayer gives good detail to what they are doing and are quite lengthy so I can respond back just the same. This suggestion can make it a bit more easier to find roleplays that I will roleplay on for a few months instead of quiting on the first day due to having nothing to work with to roleplay.

I'm sorry, but I don't support this. There will probably be many RPers who would consider themselves advanced but aren't actually advanced, thus making this pointless.
I mostly go on Smogon and Twitter nowadays.

support for reasons already stated, like, I may not be an advanced RPer myself, but Im not an totally-not-advanced one, and most RPs that Im in have a lot of totally-not-advanced people.

But, as @Quilava said, a lot of people that are not advanced could consider themselfs advanced and that would make a lot of drama, so maybe an feature that would see if the person is advanced or not would be needed?

or an advanced person could just tell the other person that they aren't advanced enough for that forum section.

I support ^^

I haven't RP'd that much, but I do like to write, and when I DO RP, I like to write paragraphs/ multiple sentences.

One-liner RPs belong in a place like PiratePad. The one-liner RPs with bad grammar give me cancer

While I do agree that their may be users who think they are advanced but in reality are not, this can be easily solved by having a strict set of rules that must be abided by in an advanced forum. Such as proper spelling, grammar and a minimum sentence count. It's one thing to make a spelling mistake as we are all humans, but if someone is bluntly disregarding the rules of the advanced forum by posting only one liners and ignoring the warnings from the creator of the roleplay in question then it should be a reportable offence. You also have to remember that their are mod's in the roleplay forum as well that would hopefully catch role-players like this (but once again no one is on here 24/7 so it should be reportable.) After that you just ignore it and continue on until it is properly dealt with.

exactly. The whole point of the separate forum is to give people who like typing more a place to tp without having to deal with the massive amount of one liners. One of the Mods would just need to make a sticky stating that the majority of your posts here must be x long or you won't be allowed to continue posting.

I like the idea of two subforums better than one, honestly. Have the Intermediate where its like a min of a paragraph, and the Advanced where its a min of 2-3. That way all skill levels can find a place where they are comfortable. *edits original post*

Full support.
Whenever I want to RP, there's never a proper one for me. I consider myself intermediate, and whenever I join a RP, there's always so many one-liners with improper grammar and everything. It makes me not want to RP at all, but the problem is that I want to RP, but not with a illiterate crowd, which is far too difficult to do than it should be.

Uhh no support
I'm not a rper so I might have a biased opinion.
Anyways, considering the roleplay section is considered "off topic" I don't see why this much add-ons should be added to it. I mean, it's a Pokemon adoptable website and I don't see role playing fitting in as one of the main features of the forum.
If this was added on I don't see why fanmades shouldn't get a "intermediate to advanced artists section"
Or actually one of the main components of the game the trading thread could have "intermediate to advanced *traders*"
Anyways, many of the playerbase on the website are usually pre-teens, and while I know many have highly advanced grammar and such, many at the same time don't, and would lead to them feeling excluded.
I believe that the whole forum should let the majority of the playerbase join in at any time, and role playing on the website shouldn't be this indepth, and suitable for all players alike.
If you can't stand the low quality role playing then you shouldn't be coming to pokeheroes, instead you could be looking for websites that are full of advanced role playing. Or you can put rules on your roleplay with stricter rules on joining said roleplay

I support this!
It really bothers me when I'm writing a post at least a paragraph long, but then someone replies with '[character] nods.'
I could go on and on, but I really don't have time.

Heya! I used to be SpiritThief, and I really like Paul Shapera's works.

Question for me?

@Rexion
I have to disagree with your most of your post.

Though I agree this is a Pokemon adoptable website were that is the first and foremost feature, the forums is a great way to get to know other players and it makes the website that much more enjoyable. As just clicking on pixels over and over is very repetitive and get's boring fast and the website would lose members.

Following your post we should just get rid of the forums period as none of fits into the site, but if you did that this website would go down quickly, so the forums are a big part of the website and it brings the community together. And just because roleplaying is considered "off topic" doesn't mean it isn't a big part of the website. Off topic means that you can do anything in those forums, and in the roleplaying forums there is a subforum for Pokemon roleplays which ties into the website as it is a Pokemon centred website. Also if you go look at the forum counts, you say roleplaying doesn't fit with one of the main features of the forum, yet it is one of the busiest place with over 500k posts. So you can't say that it isn't a main feature.

Touching on the rest of your post, it doesn't make sense to make that kind of subforum for fanmades as you present your work and people can see if you are intermediate or advance right off the bat, and then they choose to either engage with you or leave your topic. Same thing with trading. What would constitute an "advanced" forum for trading? It doesn't make any sense. If someone lowballs with an offer you just reject it and move on, having an "advance" forum doesn't even fit in with trading at all. But if you find a way of incorporating it why not make a suggestion. Anything to make the website that much better.

The last part of your post is what irritates me the most. Just because there are people who want an area that they could easily find advanced roleplays, be it pokemon or other topics, you are saying we shouldn't even come onto PH because you say the majority of people on here are pre-teens that don't understand grammar or how to spell. You insult the roleplayers, and the pre-teens on this website. You are pretty much saying that they cannot spell or use grammar properly and that's why we shouldn't have a subforum. If anything, a subforum will help avid roleplayers to strive to become better writers so they could join in an advanced roleplay. Everyone has to start somewhere, all of us started off as beginners, writing one liners. But we slowly moved up and began to write more details, and more in depth roleplays. And you are saying we shouldn't be able to enjoy that? No where in the rules on PH does it say that only "low quality roleplaying" is allowed here and saying that we shouldn't be on here because of that is ignorant. I enjoy the main aspect of this game, it's unique and fun. But I would also love to join into a roleplay where I don't have people posting two words as a reply.

All that Mewsic is suggesting is a way that all roleplayers could find a roleplay that is something they are comfortable with, be it long paragraphs or a few sentences. It would organize the roleplay forum quite a bit as well.

Friendly bump.
Really would love for this to be implemented. I've already posted before but my statement remains the same: Literate, quality RPs are rare and no one is exactly interested in it. Even if they do, they aren't exactly literate per say. You can easily tag it [Literate/Semi-Literate] but many younger users [which I know are also roleplayers] won't understand it and would join anyway. An advanced sub-forum with a stickied topic explaining what it is would really be a great addition.
