"I don't know everything yet, that's why I'm staying like this now,
but I lack any solidness and it seems in some cases I can see
things in a translucent state as well," she replied. "But it's fun
to but my arm through people's faces, I've gotta admit. Oh, and I
can be completely invisible but I threw Aroura into a brief panic
earlier."
"Nearly gave me a heart attack!" Aroura muttered. Then she turned
to Gabriel, "Alright wings, lead the way."
Gabriel held his hand out to Aroura. "Take my hand."
"What? Why?" Aroura said, suddenly on alert.
"Well, it seems everyone can transport themselves but you. I'll
carry you." He stated matter-of-factly.
Aroura figured she could use the elements to get herself there but
would be too weak to fight afterword. So she took his hand.
Ethan stood beside the group of people
he just met, trying to take in everything he was hearing. All of
the current information that they had all found out.
Locklear turned to the partially visible girl, who's name he
discovered to be Violet, and asked her what she could so while be
in her current state.
The next thing he knew, everyone was planning to leave and go to
this place.
Ethan felt that maybe he should say something, introduce himself to
these new people. He was unsure how and just went with a simple
"Uh, hey. I'm Ethan Smoak."
The Dark haired girl introduced herself
to Ethan, her name was Aruora.
"Well, I think I can teleport. I have only done it once and
honestly, I have no idea how to control it." He stated to
Aroura.
"I can carry you there Violet" Evander said. Turning to Gabriel, he
asked, "Why are you so eager to leave? is the little angel scared
of the monsters in the dark?" Evander said. his tone started out
mocking, but became serious as he finished the sentance. He made
little attempt to mask the obvious challenge. He hoped the kid
would fight. He would enjoy tossing him around a bit.
Gabriel bristled at that. In a flash of feathers, he was in front
of the child who dared to mock him. He put his face right up in his
face. "Watch it little boy. You have no idea what you're messing
with."
Aroura stepped between the brawling boys.
"Hey!" She yelled. "Do you both need a time out? Quite acting like
babies. Wings, if you want us to come with you, you better shut up,
settle down and stop fighting. Locklear, I know you want to help
Synthia. I do to. But fighting does nothing but waste time."
Her voice softened when she mentioned Synthias name. Taking a deep
breath, Aroura focused on what needed to been done.
"Ethan, can you try to teleporting from here to, I don't know, ten
feet away?" She asked. "Try remembering what you where feeling
earlier."
Sure, she though the idea of being carried was pretty strange to
her, but it was better than being left behind, she guessed. "That
seems to be the only option," she agreed after a few moments.
Evander looked at Aroura's stern face for a moment, before sighing,
"Fine. Ethan, if you don't mind I will carry you as well, seeing as
you can't control your powers very well yet." He glared at Gabriel,
"lead the way, Feathers."
"I'm not sure I could yet. The last
time it happened, my life was in danger. It was either teleport, or
die. I'll give it a try though."
Ethan tried concentrating, trying to channel the emotions from
earlier. He stared ahead, trying to picture himself moving. But he
just couldn't do it, nothing was happening.
"I just can't do it again. I guess I'll be going with Evander, as
well. Um, where exactly are we going?" He asked confused.
"We're going to meet with the leader of the Lux, a group of people
who are trying to cut the crime here in the city. We're also trying
to stop John." Gabriel explained.
Aroura rolled her eyes at the boys, but was glad they'd stopped
fighting. At least for now. "Alright wings, how is this going to
work?"
"Hold on tight." Gabriel told her, the scooped her into his arms
and lunched them into the sky.
Aroura shrieked as they speed into the air. The city spread out
below them.
"Just so you know," Evander said grabbing onto the others arms.
"This is going to be really weird." All three of them dissolved.
Evander led the scattered particles of the othe two after Gabriel.
After a few minutes they landed in front of a large white building.
He quickly reformed them, maintaining his grip to keep them from
falling over.
When Locklear has grabbed Ethan, his
entire body felt funny. The next thing he knew, he was in front of
a large white building.
He watched as Aroura landed on the ground along side the Angel
Guy.
"I'm fine." Ethan replied to Aroura.
"Good. Alright Wings, where to now?" Aroura asked. She hoped
wherever they were going had food. She was starved and didn't know
when the last time she had eaten was.
Ethan was taking in the scenery around
him. He had no idea where he was. He wasn't even sure why he let
these people bring him here, or even why he was trusting them. But
he felt a good 'vibe' of of them. He understood that they were all
just as confused as he was.
Though, the Angel guy, he wasn't sure about him. Ethan couldn't
really understand him yet, or what his motives were.
Ethan heard Aroura ask the Angel guy what they were going to do
now. Ethan waited for further instructions on what they were
planning to do next.
"Follow me." Gabriel replied. They entered the front hall of the
building. Everything was accented in gold. "Wait here, I'll go get
Terminus. As they waited Evander thought about his situation He had
pretty well decided to join Nox, but he was hoping to have at least
one of the others join him. He doubted Aroura would go, she was too
much against John at this point. He hoped Violet would come, but he
was unsure. He would much like to get to know her better. The most
likely person to come with him was Ethan. While he didn't know much
about the boy, from what he had seen he was much more like himself.
Evanders thoughts were interrupted, by the man who entered the
room. He looked quite simpler to John. Same tuxedo, same jaw, same
height. But this mans skin glowed a pale gold. His bright green
eyes seemed to pierce his mind. Where evander had felt at peace
near John, this man made him extremely uncomfortable.
