The title says it, I think it would be nice if there was a festive, original Plushie designed as a birthday present. Then whenever it's someones birthday you could send them a special Plushie with a message and make them very happy.

Maybe something like Anniversary Gift (the event pokemon) but then in Plushie form. Any pokemon would be fine, as long as it's special and original.

Thoughts? :)

That seems like such a cute idea! ^^ I do have a few questions before I can vote, though:
Would it only be possible to send on their registered birthday, or would it be possible to send on any day and just recommended on birthdays?
Also, if the former, would they be given the option to not let the site tell people it's their birthday (and therefore not be able to receive the Plushie)?

I really like this idea! It'll make any birthday really nice in my opinion :D.

CarpetMonster: I think it should only be available on someone's birthday, it wouldn't be fair to give it on just any day and it wouldn't make it as special. And I think that the site should give a plushie on your birthday, so you can get one if you decide not to tell anyone.

There should a 'birthday page' of people with their birthday today and/or upcoming birthdays (there should be an option not to display your name if you decide you don't want it public).

No, that's my point: if you choose not to let anyone know, you shouldn't get one at all - from site or from other players - as they're timestamped and people can see exactly when your birthday is. That's why I don't think having it automated would work. (It's also why I asked if having it on your birthday would be a requirement or a recommendation, as if it was a requirement, unless there was an option to turn off getting them at all, people could just see when your birthday is by TRYING to send you one and seeing if it worked.)

Yes, I remember, when I registered in this game, that the asked DOB is not of any use. Just a simple wish of Old Prof.

My opinion is that we should get a Shiny Birthday Ducklett plushie on our birthdays! :D

If you don't want people to know your birthday, maybe the timestamp for the birthday plushie won't show up for other players, only for the recipient.

That's a better explanation, but how am I gonna get it at my birthday? Cuz I accidentally put mine on 1st of January and I can't change it.

In this conversation, it seems to have a argument on not telling a birthday. But I totally agree with CarpetMonster. But if you where to tell it and your plushie was not given, then it would not be a bug.

I support! I thimk having a birthday plushie would be great. It would be like the site/community way of showing appreciation for life accomplishments, which I think is really cool! Not to mention it's a cheap, easy way of sending someone a birthday gift!

As for players that don't want their birthday shown, there should be a toggle feature on whether or not they want to block the plushie on their birthdays. As for the automated thing, what if, as they recieved the plushie, they could still show it in their notifs and collection, but if the toggle feature was on to block the plushie, it would cease to appear in the gift log.

I have a few problems with your points:

1: If you gave the site the wrong Birthday, that's on you. That's not a flaw with the suggestion at all, not to mention it has nothing to do with the statement you quoted

2: You lack a bit of explanation here. How is a shiny birthday ducklett too much? And how is a shiny starter better?

3: Where's the bug? I think these too were discussing how to deal with the privacy issue of some players not wanting the site to publicly display personal info such as birthdays. They were duscussing a toggle feature, not really arguing.

Small idea to add onto it:

If it is a friend’s birthday, when you go to the DW shop, it could say:

It's (friends) birthday today! Send them a plushie to show you care :)

There could be a shiny birthday ducklett, but the cheapest shiny so you don't have to spend a pretty penny ☺️
