[Android] PokéHeroes Messenger
Forum-Index → News → [Android] PokéHeroes MessengerHey guys and girls! :D
I've got exciting news for you! A new PokéHeroes Android Application has just been published at Google Play. It's called PokéHeroes Messenger and it allows you to communicate/chat (Pal Pad) with your friends on your mobile device!
Actually, this has always been possible via the web browser - but it has always been a pain on mobile devices. So... I spent my time on developing this new app :) (Hehe I'm really getting used to Android coding & it's a lot of fun)
Details & (coming) features:
This application is a mobile version of the Pal Pad: You can easily read & send messages from/to your friends on PokéHeroes. Your friends will receive your messages on their own messenger or on their web Pal Pad like always. No matter where you are, no matter what time it is - you're always connected to your PokéHeroes friends!
The Messenger also offers you a bunch of settings to customize your mobile experience (and to disable annoying notifications).
And another good detail to mention: The Messenger App uses about 50-times less internet connection data thingy than the regular PokéHeroes Website/Pal Pad does. This is especially handy for people with a limited mobile data volume.
I'm also planning to add a mobile Notification Wall (posting/reading feeds, commenting, notifications etc.) to the Messenger App (as a huge update) - but this is still an early work-in-progress. Just tell me what you think first and maybe we can develop this social application together!
Supported Devices:
The application is supported by a huge percentage of Android devices (even pretty old ones) and should also work on Tablets/Kindles (although I can imagine that some parts look weirdly stretched :b But still better than nothing).
This application is, just like the HeroWalker, not available for iOS/Windows/etc. . Like I said before, these devices use a completely different coding language, which I never learned.
You should consider asking your parents for a new Android device for christmas. Don't buy expensive iPhones, kids :b
Bugs/Crashes:
I've been testing the application for quite some time now and it always worked - not a single crash happened & every message was sent/received within less than 1 second.
However, I'm only testing it on one device (Samsung Galaxy SIII, Android V4.3) and it's possible that it behaves differently on different devices. Please use this Bug Collection-thread if you encounter an error.
Most expensive app on Google Play
The most expensive application on Google Play (at the moment) is called "Got Cash?" and costs 200$.
However, the PokeHeroes messenger is 100% free and is also 100% ad-free.
(Don't ask me why I put this unnecessary fact there. I just wanted to make it sound more dramatic)
Thanks to your support on the HeroWalker app, it was possible to publish this application without having to put a price on it :)
Suggestions
Please use this suggestion-thread if an idea comes up to your mind, which might improve our Messenger Application. But please consider that coding an android app takes much more time than coding new features for PokeHeroes :) So please be patient and don't expect very big projects anytime soon.
If you keep putting apps out there, I'm going to have to add a screen to my phone just for Pokeheroes, lol. And yay it's free!
This means no more "sorry I can't read or reply to your message from my mobile" messages to friends when I'm out running errands and want to chat!
This will make being on the site a lot more sociable when I'm on mobile.
Thank you thank you thank you ~<3
