Please excuse me. I am one of those people who sometimes has to walk away and actually think about things for a bit, before I can put my thoughts into words. So what I posted at first was true to when I posted it. But what I posted later was also true, because I'd had time to think on this more.

And now, I have had more time. So let me please express it this way.

You idea is worthy of respect and has potential, yes. BUT... What I am afraid of... Because I have seen it ruin a lot of other games... Is that we might lose the open friendliness of the way things are now. By encouraging interactions with friends already made, do we limit and discourage people from discovering and making new friends?

... No, we don't limit and discourage people from discovering and making new friends, because, as has been shown in the first post literally the entire time this suggestion has even existed, you are also encouraged to post in the public forums?

I really like this idea ^_^
It'd encourage people to accept more of the "random" friend requests in an effort to find an item they need, and kinda give something for us to have a bit more of a community around.
