I'm not sure if I could find any other thread mentioning this (pardon if there has been, whoops), but I wanted to know roughly how many evo stones you'd have to make before unlocking the mega stone? I've made 8 evo stones until now and unlocked up to sun/moon stone tier.

If you have unlocked Sun/Moon Stones, there's only Shiny, Dusk and Dawn Stone, before unlocking Mega Stones :)

Got it, but around how many stones would I have to make until unlocking the next few stones?

If I didn't miscount when the Cauldron was added, it's 5 Stones to unlock Shiny/Dusk Stone, 4 Stones to unlock Dawn Stone and then another 4 Stones to unlock Mega Stone.

So, starting from Sun/Moon, you'll need to make another 13 Stones to unlock everything left.
