A House On The Edge(Thread)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → A House On The Edge(Thread)The sun rose upon the nothing-place, and lights in the house started to flicker on. On the top floor, there was a singular solitary light that had never seemed to turn off for more than an hour.
On the middle floor, flashes of intense colored light shot out of the window every few minutes.
ON the bottom floor, was a man, blonde in hair, black in cap, simply sitting on the couch- well, laying, more like, a remote control in hand as he flicked through channels on the TV.
He glanced up, as the tenants of his cottage started to awake.

The familiar sounds and smells of the Reverie were gone.
Did he oversleep? Oh that would be bad. As he hurried to get ready as quickly as possible he stopped in his tracks.
Right.
This wasn’t the Reverie. Something he’d had to remind himself for the past few days. But hey, routine was hard to break, especially if you’ve been living that way for years.
Deep breath. In. Out. There we go. He returned to getting ready for the day, taking a bit more time than he had been previously.
As he left his room, despite his nerves of being in such an odd place, he couldn’t help but feel excited at the prospect of a new place, a new world.
”Mysterious… surprising… and law-defying… Isn’t that right?”
Which was none... The pages were empty, not even a title scribbled on top. Reshen sighed and rubbed his eyes. Two days gone by in this peculiar house, and no words had appeared. Oh well, what do they say again? Thrice was the charm? He pulled the hood of his poncho as he stood up. "Good morning." Reshen tapped his lantern. Instantly it began to glow as his captives flew awake, tapping against the glass walls and obviously hurling some miniscule insults. He chuckled at the thought and picked it up, heading towards the kitchen. The Leather Tome floated after him.
"Breakfast? Say less, dear tenant!"
He chuckled.
"Breakfast is good! Good, good, good, always good!"
And then he was knocked off balance for a moment after a loud BANG echoed throguh the house.
Stumbling down the stairs, was a soot-covered girl, hair as golden as wheat, coughing up ash and waving her hand inf ront of her face.
"Morning!"
She said, peppily, dusting the soot off her hoodie.
"Hiya, Aleks!"
"Morning, Alyssa."

Evan could hear the chatterings of Aleksandr's guests downstairs.
So they were awake.
he shrugged quietly, focusing back in on his artwork.

“And you, Miss Alyssa? Breakfast for you too?” A dream-hand reached out, helping to brush some soot off Alyssa’s hoodie, before returning to its batter mixing. “Whatever happened to you, dear?”
She was having a lovely dream in which she gambled away while drinking bottles of Soulglad. Although these experiences were nothing unusual as she dived into the Dreamscape on a regular basis, Iris began to miss her life at Penacony and began to wonder how she could leave this spaceless house full of strangers.
However, dreams don’t last forever, don’t they?
Realizing this, Iris slowly rose from her bed and tidied her wings. She peeked out her bedroom door to see if anyone else had woken up. A familiar blue-haired bellboy had just gotten out of his bedroom.
She found it relieving to recognize someone among the strangers in the cottage.

Suddenly, he was leaning on the stove, hand glitched halfway through the metal. He didn't even notice, talking animatedly.
"Good morning, Reshen, my dear friend! Goodest of mornings indeed!"
He chuckled, smiling.
Alyssa smiled brightly.
"Oh, I was trying a new rune, but it failed. And I got blown up, like kablooey, but I'm fine now, I think. There's a ringing in my ears, but I'll be A-okay, miss!"

Aleksandr laughed, lifting his hand out of the stove, before zapping it back to normal.
"A wonderful day, a wonderful day indeed!"
His movements tracked like a opponent in an FPS at 999 Ping. He threw open the door, staring out into the blank void of nothingness beyond the 400-foot radius of the cliff and the house.
"Another beautiful day in nothingness! Hello, my little realm!"
He snapped, and the world just kind of... popped into existence, like the chunks hadn't been loading previously.
There was a little town at the bottom of the cliff, inhabited by more of the people Aleksandr had helped previous- or, memory fragments of them, anyways.

In a house away from many others, a few figures had woken up. The owner of the world, Aleksandr, greeted everyone with some cheerful words.
"Finally," Reshen sipped, glancing outside the window at the town. Hmmm... an illusion spell? Well, now he knew the man's name. And his book seemed to be working again. Certainly this trip won't last too long.
”Mysterious… surprising… and law-defying… Isn’t that right?”
He swapped the topic mid sentence, calling out for someone named Evan.
After a few moments of pure silence, Aleksandr flickered back into a neutral position, snapping.
A man appeared, in the middle of the air, seemingly in the process of drawing something, when he fell straight to the ground.
"Ow- F- ALEKS!"
"Evan, tehre you are! Get up, you whiny demigod! Did you bring some of these guys here? Was it You, Hm? Hm, Evan?"
Evan took a step back, pushing Aleks away with one hand, the other hand adjusting his glasses, before moving onto brushing his brwn hair out of his eyes. HE scanned the room.
"...Uh, hi? I see newcomers."
Evan sighed.
"I'm Evan. He's Aleksandr. We're the senior members of this place- Well, Aleks created this place, but y'know."
Evan sighed.
"Details. Boring. Annoying."
Aleks muttered.
Evan glared at him.
"Holler for us if you need help. No, actually, holler for him. I'm busy."
Evan adjusted his glasses once more before picking up his notebook and pencil, trudging back up the stairs.

She picked up the scent of freshly-brewed tea and saw a hooded man reading a book while drinking tea. Misha was also near the two stranger, seeming to listen to the conversation.
It would be nice to grab some breakfast at this time. Hopefully the girl with the veil cooking eggs and bacon with her extra hands would let her have some

MEGATRON HAS FALLEN!! I, STARSCREAM, NOW LEAD THE- Oh we weren't talking about Transformers? Well, this is embarrassing.
”Mysterious… surprising… and law-defying… Isn’t that right?”
Evan was climbing the stairs absentmindedly, not even noticing Leanne. She'd spent seven months in this place. In that time, she had basically learned nothing about the solitary demigod, which was frustrating. Leanne liked knowing things. Leanne liked having a teensy bit of control. Evan was friends with Aleks somehow, but they had both been around long before her. Long before her, if her research was anywhere near correct. That was expected. They were both confusing.
"Evan, get your head out of the clouds." She rolled her eyes at him, her clipped British accent sounding irritable as usual. She really would let have let him have it he smashed into her. "Are you responsible for these people and their noise? Because Merlin, I swear, if Aleks's hatred for tea has prevented a pot of something English being made, I will hold you both accountable."

My current RP work:
When she woke up, she was already darting around the second floor, skating past objects she moved around to use as obstacles. The wheels rolling against the floor made up half the noise she made, the other half being her yelling or crashing into a wall. The people who came here didn't know how to have fun- the lot of them were incredibly boring or rude. They were so bland it was nearly suffocating.
But then again, she hadn't taken the time to really get to know them. All she knew of them were their names, and because of her bad memory, she forgot them. So she gave them nicknames. And she forgot those, too.
Even now, as she rolled (read: fell) down the stairs, she greeted everyone with a cheerful smile, so cheerful it was already exhausting so early in the day. Emmie waved to every single person until they waved back.

After what felt like an eternity of walking, the mist finally released it’s grasp, swirling around Crow-2 in an almost playful manner. He smiled,“It appears the machinery was faulty…that explains why none of the mist was repelled earlier.” That was what he assumed, until he finally caught sight of the large, overhanging cliff before him. The thing that stood out the most however, was the large, house-like structure at the very edge of it. It had a unique architectural design, with a triangular shaped build at the top and a large, rectangular structure poking out above it, unlike anything he’d ever seen from his experiences of travelling through The Rim. It seemed to be occupied, with its flickering lights shining through it windows.
With great interest, Crow-2 proceeded to double check the premises for any traps, before striding straight towards the strange looking house.
