Class 1-4... wait. They were Class 2-4, now.

Yeah. Class 2-4. Class 2-4 was by far what people called the most 'disappointing class'.

Chock full of the weakest, the disappointing and the lower-class of the school... yeah. It wasn't where many wanted to be.

Of course, the lowest tier in this school was still the higher tiers of society in general.

But in this heavily heirarchy-based school, it didn't matter about the rest of society.

All that mattered was positions and heirarchy in the school.

Class 2-4 was placed in the very back of the school, the classroom slightly smaller than the other, proportionate to the small number of students within the class.

The classroom was fairly empty, just one, silver-blonde haired girl sitting at the desk at the very back, quietly tying her long, wavy hair into a ponytail.

She hummed quietly, her smile thin, her eyes sparkling.

She looked up at the opening doors, letting go of her hair, the bands holding it into a tight ponytail.

"Oh!"

Saeha smiled cheerfully.

"You guys are early~!"

Kinoko smiled happily as she skipped into the classroom.

"Well, can't miss out on the first day right?"

She giggled.

"Anyway, do we sit where we want, or is there a seating chart?"

Hanging off her left shoulder was a red and beige bag, probably stuffed full of notebooks and good vibes. In her other hand, she held a baton. It had a few cracks in it and had some bandages wrapped around it in attempts to make a better grip.

"Maybe? But let's be honest! Who would care, so loosen up Kinoko!"

For who knows how long she has been lurking, Soo-ah Lee's head suddenly popped up from behind Kinoko. With a snap of her hands, Kinoko's red and beige bag suddenly appeared in her hands. It was Soo-ah's usual trickeries again.

Whistling a funny tune, Soo-ah choose the seat infront of Saeha, and places Kinoko's bag to the desk next to hers without a mind of what the bag contained. That's right, it was just a little annoying prank that's all. Clapping her now empty hands, a leather brown messenger bag appeared. Soo-ah randomly set the bag somewhere on her desk, and immediately turns around to face Saeha with a knowing smile.

"Eh?~ How could unnie say that when Saeha unnie is the earliest one out of all of us!~"

"I guess you're right Soo-ah, but we all deserve some credit for being at least on time."

Without her smile wavering, she sat in the desk that Soo-ah had deposited her bag on. As she opened it, she took out a glass bottle of water. It thankfully hadn't been broken.

"So, any of you got the schedule memorized? I could barely comprehend it."

Kinoko carefully laid out her supplies, a notebook, and a few pencils and pens.

Soo-ah paused, and thinked for a moment, before shaking her head firmly, and replied with a blunt: "Nope."

"If Kinoko couldn't memorize it... oh what am I supposed to do then! Boohoo!" Soo-ah fake wept dramatically, with all the hand movement and over exaggerated expression.

Unlike her deskmate, Soo-ah didn't bother to organize her belongings at all. Afterall, why should she, when she could just make it appear in her hand within a snap! Plus, it would be a waste of time to do so.

Shaking her head lightly, still with her over exaggerated sad puppy dog eyed expression she peeped at Saeha in the corner of her eye. Observing the other's expression not-so-secretly.

As Andrael entered the classroom, her expression was a mix of annoyance and determination. She scanned the room, taking in the sight of her classmates, and couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration at being placed in Class 2-4. She knew her strength, her capabilities, yet here she was, surrounded by what she perceived as weaker individuals.

The silver-blonde haired girl at the back of the room didn't seem too concerned with the new arrival. She continued tying her hair into a ponytail with practiced ease, seemingly indifferent to the social dynamics of the classroom. Andrael took this as a sign of arrogance or ignorance, fueling her belief that she was among those who underestimated her. And then there were the two girls who were far too happy about their situation.

As she walked to an empty desk, she maintained a guarded and standoffish demeanor. She didn't bother acknowledging her classmates, viewing them as mere nuisances and distractions. In her mind, they were weak and beneath her, and she didn't see the point in wasting her time with their company.

Settling into her seat, Andrael leaned back, crossing her arms, and kept her gaze fixed on the front of the classroom. Her grumpy expression spoke volumes about her current state of mind. While she might be annoyed at her class placement, she found some solace in the fact that people would likely underestimate her abilities.

Despite her inner turmoil and frustration, Andrael was determined to make the best of her situation. She knew that sometimes, being underestimated could be an advantage, and she was eager to prove herself to those who doubted her capabilities. Until then, she would keep her guard up and maintain her standoffish exterior, focusing on her own strength and ambitions, disregarding the opinions of those she considered beneath her.

Soo-ah perked up when she saw another new arrival enter their classroom. It was honestly jaw-dropping how fast Soo-ah's expression has changed, from her pitiful sad puppy dog eyes, to her bubbly and carefree smile with her usual glint of trouble in her eyes.

Unbothered by the new girl's tough exterior and grumpy expression at the back of the classroom, Soo-ah sat up straight and raised her hand high up like she was about to touch the ceiling, and wave energetically. No matter how much someone clearly wanted to be left alone.. since when was Soo-ah someone who cared for the rules and opinions of other?

"Yahoo!~ Hey new girl! Whatcha name?" Soo-ah had a broad smile on her face, with her teeth shown. She seemed like the average just slightly bit more annoying goofball to all. But from the way the new girl had acted the moment she entered the classroom, Soo-ah already have a few guesses about the other's personality.

Don't think her eyes have dulled when she had gotten into her car accident! Though she have lost her memory, somethings are instinctual.

"Hehe~! Wow, this is so... quiet!"

Saeha hummed thoughtfully.

She queitly observed Andrael, with keen interest.

Her bubbly facade didn't slip for a second.

"Are we going to introduce ourselves? That sounds like a good idea~!"

Seaha grinned.

"I'm Saeha Kim!"

Saeha Kim, famous for having by far the lowest Edeya and Combat rank in the school, yet being able to defeat those of a mich higher level than her.

"You can just call me Saeha~!"

It was either a miracle, or a true demonstration of her skill, that she managed to get into Carter's for a second year.

Kinoko, after tugging on Soo-ah's sleeve to get her to stop bothering Andrael, turned to Seaha.

"I'm Kinoko!"

She happily explained her Edeya.

"I can manipulate sounds and sometimes take people's voices, but I'm not that good at it."

She looked hopefully at Andrael, wanting to impress her. When Andrael had first come in, she seemed dissatisfied with the class she was in.

Soo-ah turned back to look at Kinoko who was tugging at her sleeve acting in oblivious confusion, then smiled knowingly, before turning her head back to the others, smiling, with her teeths showing. Completely worried-free.

"Name's Soo-ah Lee! But Soo-ah is just fine ehe~"

Soo-ah, though notorious for her annoying prankster personality, while acting like a buffoon. She is a true talent once she gets serious. Though it was unsure if anyone saw that before. But regardless, while not having any physical related abilities, she is known for defeating her opponent in all sorts of strange and humiliating way regardless of rank.

But, the main reason she was in the weakest class 4 was because the higher up teachers probably didn't want to deal with her.

Andrael's grumpy expression softened only slightly as she glanced at the three girls who were seemingly excited to introduce themselves. She didn't share their enthusiasm, finding their bubbly personalities and antics somewhat annoying. Nevertheless, she understood that social interactions were inevitable, so she decided to play along, albeit with the minimal effort required.

"Andrael," she said curtly, her voice devoid of any particular emotion. She didn't bother with any additional pleasantries or small talk, making it clear that she wasn't interested in engaging in chit-chat.

She shifted her attention to Kinoko, who seemed eager to impress her with her Edeya abilities. Andrael wasn't particularly impressed or intrigued, but she didn't show any outward signs of disdain either. Diplomacy was her forte, and she knew better than to outright insult or belittle her classmates, at least not openly.

As Soo-ah continued to exhibit her prankster personality, Andrael couldn't help but roll her eyes internally. She wasn't one to appreciate such behavior, but she also understood that not everyone was as serious or focused as she was. She simply kept her guard up, unwilling to let her emotions or opinions be swayed by the lively atmosphere around her.

In the back of her mind, she made a mental note to observe these girls further. After all, she needed to assess her classmates' strengths and weaknesses, regardless of her initial impression of them. Underestimating anyone in this hierarchy-based school could be a grave mistake, and Andrael was determined not to fall into that trap. So, she would bide her time, remain diplomatic, and keep her true thoughts and emotions well-hidden beneath her grumpy exterior.

There was just a tiniest glint of analytical observation in Saeha's eyes.

The girl's eyes lingered on Andrael for just a moment too long.

For a second, her smile dropped into a thin, calm, neutral line, before curving back up into a smile.

"You guys might know who I am. My Edeya is [Conbat Sense], its' rank is D+, and my Combat Rank is C+!"

She seemed awfully bubbly for someone with such a low rank.

"I am currently rank 321 in this school."

321 out of 400 was impressjve for someone with such a poor Edeya.

Andrael's grumpy expression remained unchanged as Saeha introduced herself and shared her rank and Edeya information. There was a flicker of interest in her analytical gaze as she observed Saeha's bubbly demeanor contrasted with her relatively low Edeya and Combat ranks. She made a mental note of Saeha's ranking, acknowledging that it was somewhat impressive for someone with a D+ rank Edeya.

"I'm still Andrael," she responded, her tone still flat and devoid of enthusiasm. "Edeya: [Queen of the Overlooked Spectres], [A Mind Like Insidious Poison], Rank 301."

And that was all she offered in terms of an introduction. No need to divulge unnecessary details or display any more emotion than she deemed necessary. Andrael was content to keep her true strengths and abilities close to her chest, maintaining her guarded demeanor in the presence of her new classmates. While she might have a slight interest in Saeha's rank and abilities, she had no intention of revealing much about herself at this moment.

"Well, nice to meet you, still Andrael! I hope we can be best buds~!"

She flitted over to Andrael, holding out a hand.

Her smile was cheerful, a spring in her step.

Under that smiling facade, were those analytical eyes, watching Andrael's every move behind a curtain of cheerfulness.

Andrael hesitated for a moment, clearly not used to such enthusiastic friendliness. She glanced at Saeha's outstretched hand, her guard still up, but she also recognized the glint of intelligence in Saeha's eyes. There was something about this girl that seemed different from the others, something that hinted at a hidden depth beneath the bubbly exterior.

With a grumpy sigh, Andrael reluctantly took Saeha's hand, giving it a brief shake before letting go. Her expression softened ever so slightly, though she still maintained her cautious demeanor.

"Sure, whatever," she replied, trying her best not to show any real annoyance. "Best buds or not, just don't get in my way."

Despite her reluctance, Andrael couldn't help but feel a slight sense of curiosity about Saeha. She had a hunch that there was more to this girl than met the eye, and she silently resolved to keep an eye on her as well, just as Saeha seemed to be doing with her. For now, though, she would continue to play her diplomatic game, treading carefully in this new and unfamiliar environment.

Soo-ah watches the interaction between Andreal and Saeha with a worried free smile resting on her face. But little did they know, there was a fox watching them coyly.

Soo-ah shooked her head, her eyes brightening up, as she crossed her arms together and fake pouted at them, trying to play cute. "Aww~ Don't let just the two of you have the fun to yourself! Me and Kinoko want to join the friend group too!"

Soo-ah tried to act pitifully by resting her hand on her cheek. But seeing that didn't work, she just instead dramatically sighed. "Alright.. Alrightttttt Seeing you two are so keen on my these things... here ya go.." Soo-ah's head wilted like a flower, before raising itself up straight and tall again dramatically. "Soo-ah Lee, Edeya: [Gone with a Snap] and [Back with a Clap]! Rank 289~" She spoke as if it was a roll call.

Though her rank was higher than both of them, she didn't put on any arrogant face at all, and seem to be unfazed by it, or she didn't care. Rather, she seemed much more interested in the people in the class rather than herself.

Saeha's smile dipped for a moment, but returned, sunny and cheerful.

"Of course~! I wouldn't want to leave you behind~!"

She laughed.

"Let's all be good friends, okay? We class 4-ers need to stick together, after all!"

Kinoko bobbed her head enthusiastically.

"I want to rank higher this year too! I got a 310... But still! We'll do incredibly well!"

She glanced over at Soo-ah. Something in the back of her mind was nagging at her. Maybe it was her father's investigative sense, but she didn't trust Soo-ah very much. Still, she smiled and laughed along with the others.

With Saeha, Kinoko could think of many reasons to be afraid. Having such a low ranking and still being cheery like that.... Maybe she was also just smiling to comfort other people.

Andrael... From appearances, she wasn't a very... welcoming person. From the way she talked, she seemed to be constantly calculating her environment and conversations. From first glances, Kinoko could already tell she was dissatisfied with the class she was in. Class 4 always had a bad reputation, and Kinoko believed that maybe Andrael was a bit happy with the class. She still put it off as her liking the students.

"Also, Soo-ah, try speaking for yourself next time."

She put it gently, trying not to be seen as antagonizing, rude, or judgemental.

"Huh?" Soo-ah tilted her head as if she didn't understand. "But.. you wanted to join anyways right?"

Soo-ah narrowed her eyes slightly, just slightly as she stared at Kinoko, acting like a confused puppy, with her lower lip puckered out, and corner of the eyes drooping. She didn't say anything, and just kept staring at Kinoko, waiting for her explanation, acting oblivious.

Soo-ah didn't have much opinions of everyone in this class, but she suppose there were a few mentionable qualities that she does find interesting. Such as how Jaeha unnie is definitely hiding something (perhaps something related to her Edeya), or how the new girl Andreal is observing everyone closely, and perhaps, making some interesting little plays in her head. Then finally, there was Kinoko, it's actually obvious that Kinoko was fed up with her, but did Soo-ah really care about the opinions of others?

When did she? Soo-ah clearly did not when her sis advised her to fix her behavior.

"Yes, but um..."

Her smile wavered. She started to feel guilty about what she said.

"Sorry."

She said it so that it was barely audible. But she was still holding up a smile.

"Yeah. I hope we can all be friends someway or another."
