I'm really hoping that berry clicks are supposed to boost odds and that it's simply some faulty code, because the encounter rate is a little awful right now...

I feel like berries are actually made to have a higher chance and what is in the post was a simple copy-paste of the last event. But that doesn't really excuse the apparent awful odds. Hoping it's just something that's bugged.

Yep yep the odds need to be fixed quickly, lots of people have interacted lots but no luck on encounters.

The odds do need to be fixed. I remember I seen in a feed last year that someone made 50k interactions in one day and STILL didn't get an encounter.

Yep, so many clickers aren't getting something after grinding a lot but some people manage to get it within small amounts of clicking.

I wish it was like if you made a certain amount of interactions equals an encounter and pull it off a certain number of times nets you a shiny. Not sure how many interactions to cap it at though.

Using berries does increase your chances. The FAQ statement was an old copy-paste that has now been removed

Thanks for the confirmation. Has the fact that berries have a higher encounter chance affected the odds compared to previous releases? I've done 20k+ berries and no luck. Others have done similar numbers. I get it's supposed to be rare, but you've encouraged people to shiny hunt it with the plushies but with odds like these it's more off putting than anything. Not everyone has the time or energy to do 10k+ daily.

Also, does the premium shiny boost affect these events, or will I be wasting nuggets?

Premium hasn't any effect on events.
Just try to click while do other things, it's every year the same, that some users have no luck, while other get an encounter quiet often. I had pretty bad luck with Zarude, I got not a single encounter, even if I were clicking a lot while the event. Sometimes it goes that way and in other times we have more luck then.
