THE FIFTH WAVE
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape the tsunamis. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive the pestilence. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one. My name is Kira, I'm a survivor of all four waves, and the fifth wave is coming.

(Ok so, I've been re-reading the fifth
wave trilogy, and I've just started to realise how trash it is,
almost as bad as twilight. Such a shame too, it had such a great
plot too. So I've decided to re-write the plot, I'm going to see
what I can do with the dregs of this dumster fire of a story. It
could sink, it could swim. Only one way to find out.)
Let's start off simple, Aliens known as "The Others" arrive, humans get nervous after nothing happens for a week, multiple disasters known as waves that are triggered by The Others happen. See this map of New York? That's right, good 'ol NYC is one of the last safe spaces on earth, or at closest thing that passes as one at the very least. After wave 1 happened, most forms of global transport were shut down when the aliens set off a massive emp bomb to take out all electrical appliances, this killed around 500k humans. After the second where The Others dropped massive metal rods from the height of the atmosphere onto one of the earth's fault lines, resulting in earthquakes and massive tsunami waves that wiped out most coastal cities on all seven continents, cities and islands either sank or were isolated by large bodies of water, resulting in far more deaths than the first wave by a considerable amount, the 2nd wave taking out around 3 billion humans. Meanwhile the third wave manifested as a plague that wiped out around 97% percent of the remaining human population. Also known as the "blood plague", "the Red Death", and "the Fourth Horseman", the Others genetically engineered this virus to have an almost-perfect kill rate. The 3rd Wave was spread throughout the globe by the use of birds as the carriers of the disease. With over 325 billion birds, "the Others couldn't invent a more efficient delivery system." The virus developed within the birds( via falling excrement)and then became airborne. People infected with the virus first exhibited cold-like symptoms, and it progressed from there to the point where "blood poured out of every inch of your body". Eventually, the virus would take hold of their victim's mind, and the infected person would die in a "series of seizures." The infected people turned into viral bombs that spread the infection to all the other people nearby. Due to this, other places were wiped off the map, china, india, the united kingdoms becoming no go zones. For some reason most of new york residents seemed immune to the desease, so naturally people moved there. Then the fourth wave rolled about, introducing The Others begining to physically appear on Earth among the humans. They were called "Silencers", as it was their job to kill much of the remaining human population. They have programmed themselves into certain humans and have full control of them. This made it hard for the remaining human population to trust in anyone now as they cannot tell who is truly human or a silencer, tearing any forms of civilisation apart, taking from the concept of "United we conquer, divided we fall." And now New York is dead silent. Recently though, Survivors like Kira have heard whispers of a fifth wave, perhaps a disturbance in the force as one might call it. The end is nigh.
On the other side of the coin, if you've read the book, the army along with commnder Vosch is still alive and kicking, plot twist is that they've moved their headuarters inland to the center of new york city. If you haven't read the book, The army are "saviors" of the survivors of the four waves, and have a camp outside Wright-Patterson known as Camp Haven. They are... A bit unethical to say the least, they have implants imbedded in the necks of children they rescue and hook them up to a computer program immediately afterwards, known as Wonderland, a device stolen from the Others which can map their memories. After that they're encouraged to kill a human who has an Other inside of them, because according to them they found a way to detect and kill The Others. Upon passing their tests, children are put through boot camp to become a soldier to join a squad of children training to kill infected humans, who they could detect with a special eye piece.
Unbeknownst to them, leadership at Wright-Patterson lied to them, the Others had actually taken over THE ARMIES body. The Others were secretly training the kids to do their job for them, to anhilate the rest of the humans, the tracker that could "Detect" fourth wavers was a detector that tested wether someone had a certain chip implanted into their body, upon seeing no chips were in the body, they would falsly detect that there was an Other in the body. This was the fifth wave, the arming of the last generation. Their preparations are almost complete, and the army is moving inland to New york where most survivors are gathered. In this situation, what will YOU do?
