*insert obnoxious airhorn sound effect here*
"The voting period has ended! Please allow me to tally the votes... Oh, and, since two of our players, Athena and Jordan, have not made their vote, our...uh...magical name picker thing will vote for them. Honestly I have no idea how it works but whatever."
Two votes for Lucian.
Two votes for Artemis.
One vote for Paiyoon.
One vote for Idris.
One vote for Felicity.
One vote for Mei.
And finally, one vote for Elehah."
"Since our most voted players are tied, no one will be sent to their death - the Extermination Room. What a shame, I was hoping for some action on the first day."
"Wellllll...that concludes our first day! Apologies if it was a bit short, our Sun Goddess was invited to...something today. Well, have a good night's sleep, everyone! Or a good night's meeting."

"You know what they say, the early worm gets the bird! I mean, the early humans get to condemn the yōkai to their death."
"From now on, daytime will be full-length! Unless our Sun Goddess is required elsewhere, of course."
"By the way..."
"One of our players, Felicity, the Civilian, has been killed by the Yōkai. May we all have a moment of silence for her.
"One of our players, Felicity, the Civilian, has been killed by the Yōkai. May we all have a moment of silence for her."
He scoffed, breaking the silence. Someone was already dead? Dang.
How pathetic.
It was a shame....that he didn't even care.
He turned around angrily. What good-for-nothing, rat decided to vote for him?
He was Idris Kallikrates for goodness sake.
How dare these dirty peasants even dare to know his name.
He didn't want anything to do with the worms.
Ugh.
Idris shuddered.

Aww man, it was morning already? Dammit...
She didn't get enough sleep to deal with whatever this was.
Besides, someone voted for her? What a shame, what a shame...
She woke up with a yawn and a stretch, barely even listening to the, quite frankly, very annoying voice that she was starting to get tired of. At least, not until death was mentioned.
"One of our players, Felicity, the Civilian, has been killed by the Yōkai. May we all have a moment of silence for her."
...A moment of silence? Nah, screw that, Mei would instead "mourn" her death by laughing, like this was all a big joke of some sort.
Oh fun! The voice really wasn't lying, all of this was real! Even better, she supposed, it made things a hell of a lot more interesting. Well, let the games begin, I guess.
So, there were Yōkai among them, eh? During the night, they killed an unfortunate soul, and now the rest of them had to find out who had their hands dirty. Oh well, wouldn't hurt to try and do some investigation herself, would it? Besides, not like she was going to help any of these idiots, oh no, she was doing it exclusively for her own benefit.
Anyways, guess she had to do something during the day, but what exactly would that be... Talking to anyone here didn't seem to be something she would enjoy, although it could potentially benefit her, but it wasn't like there was much else to do... Hmm...
Maybe she could just go back to bed or something, I dunno.
Lucian Arbred's POV
...
Dead.
Felicity was... Dead. Someone among them was dead. Someone had died. This horrible thing... Was for real. Were they all just going to die here?
This is my fault. This is all my fault! If I had just voted correctly...
...
No.
He had to find out who could have done this.
He hadn't known this Felicity person. But... Someone had died.
He had to stop this from happening again.
So the question was...
How could he figure out who was doing this?
He wished it would do any good to kill himself.
...but it wouldn't. And that was just pathetic when he thought about it.
Not some heroic, noble, nor strategic sacrifice.
Just straight-up, stupid pointless suicide.
The question was... How could he determine if anyone was suspicious?
Lucian began gnawing on a lock of his hair subconsciously, deep in thought...
Disappointed, he sat up and let his head rest against his hand, waiting for his headache to diminish down. Before he took a deep breath, and thought to himself.
Felicity was dead.
But that wasn't the point, as he didn't even know her. People die everyday, everywhere, and for stupid reasons and causes. He'd seen many people die. There are people he can't save. As a physician, he has long accepted the fact that he can't save everyone.
Merely, she was just unlucky to be chosen.
She was their first victim.
They may be even more in the future...
Elehah clenched his fist, his nails digging into his palm, they don't have any power to defend against these yokais. Except during the day, whether if they can vote them out or not.
He was not willing to die, not now, not ever. He still has many things to finish up in his world. Elehah stood up, and walked to the next normal person, or one that atleast seem the most normal out of all.
Lucian Arbred.
This time he was actually going to investigate, and make sure he survives, Elehah thought with a determined gaze, as he walked towards Lucian.
"..Hey, mind if we talk for a moment?"
Lucian Arbred's POV
"oh, of course not. Here, or somewhere else?"
A gnawing sense of dread settled in briefly. What if this person was planning to kill him?... No. Most likely not. He had to keep his guard up, but he wasn't going to just write everyone here off as a bloodthirsty killer. Even though...
People could very often be that way.
But unfortunately, most people here are the exact opposite of normal...
Trying to calm the poor guy down, Elehah gave his best effort of what seems like a reassuring smile, and reached his hand out to Lucian.
"Sorry to bother, I'm Elehah. You can lead the way, if that makes you any less nervous." Elehah said in a kind voice that he usually talk with his scared/panicked patients.

"Just a little reminder- If you find full-length days to be a bit...boring, feel free to explore the...er, "arena", a bit. To the left of the housing complex we are in are the Ruins of the Kami-no-Tokoyo's Tower, and to the right are various shrines you can look at or go in. Just don't break anything."
"If you're wondering how you're surviving without food, water, or literally anything a human needs to survive, it's because we separated you from your corporeal vessel. Don't ask why, or how, because I don't know."
Ruins of the Kami-no-Tokoyo's Tower-
That sounded....interesting enough. He should go and walk around, anyways, rather than sitting down looking all depressed. All the strangers seemed to be making friends. How stupid. Don't they know that they're going to turn on each other in a heartbeat?
Sooner or later punches will be exchanged, and Idris was not going to get involved in it.
Just watch, from a safe distance. Preferably with some popcorn.
"If you're wondering how you're surviving without food, water, or literally anything a human needs to survive, it's because we separated you from your corporeal vessel.
He sighed.
No popcorn then.
Idris trudged his way to the long-named tower which he couldn't care less about remembering the name of.

Pfft, yeah, it sure will be boring alright. What's with all this bullcrap anyways? "Ruins of the Kami-no-Tokoyo's Tower" or whatever that was, and some pitiful shrines? Pffft, yeah right, like that was worth checking out. Mei rolled her eyes at the voice and made her way out of the housing building, finding sleep quite an impossibility at this rate. Besides, she was in the mood for a little... fun. Early... bird? Gets the... worm? Or whatever that odd voice said? Yeah, whatever, point is, Mei found that the earlier she started to fool around, the more fun she would have, right?
Nah, she was just extremely bored.
...Speaking of bored...
She began to explore, highly disappointed at the lack of food that she could eat in this odd realm, finding it difficult to find much enjoyment without her beloved dinosaur nuggets, but she could shrug it off, right?
...Maybe she could find something to break, y'know, out of pure spite for the voice that loomed above them all.
Coincidentally, for no reason whatsoever, totally a completely unfortunate, random series of events, she ran into this extremely emo and... unapproachable looking guy. Idris? Was that his name?
Well, it was either him, Artemis, or Elehah, really, she didn't feel like dealing with those talkative, overly positive idiots that were probably crying over the death of someone they hardly knew. Plus, Elehah was already talking to one of said idiots, which was enough of a deterrent due to association, and Artemis was nowhere to be found. Oh whatever.
Maybe the first thing I can break is his nose-
...Hey wait a minute. Where did that come from? Physical violence? Mei? Excuse me, she wouldn't go that low. Besides, that's getting her hands dirty, she'd rather just beat them to the ground with the hoard of insults that came out of her dirty mouth anyways.
Oh fun.
Well, time to see what tomfoolery she could make out of this.
"Hey, you, edgy b*****d, the hell you doin sittin' there like a gah damn idiot for, huh?"
Mei walked closer with a smirk, an unpleasant glare in her eyes that seemed to be challenging him, trying to provoke him or something.
"Ooooooh, I get it! I'm the first unfortunate soul who had the displeasure of thinking you're worth talking to, I see, I see! Must be a shame, isn't it? Or are you such a sad, lonely, pathetic welp that you didn't even wanna be talked to in the first place, hm? Oh, then I do apologize, I am so sorry to ruin your little pity party!"
At this point, Mei had to hold in laughter, even though it wasn't nearly as funny as it should've been. Maybe she was just chortling to add insult to injury?
Lucian Arbred's POV
...
I wonder what he wants to talk about.
And who would die next? A Yokai?
...or a human being?
Hanako made her way up to the podium and wrote down:
Mei Akamatsu
She had a feeling that Mei was one of the Yokai... they just seemed... off.

She walked to the voting podium, each step filled with trepidation. She took a deep breath and wrote a name that was not her own.
Setsuna.
Leaving the room, she opened the door to the outside room. Paiyoon decided to explore the "arena" they were in. Perhaps she would find some clues to the identity of the disembodied voice at the shrines.

"I completely agree with you, who knows what would happen next. But if we do want to survive, I think it's better to get to know eachother first, don't you think?"
Lucian Arbred's POV
...
Felicity was dead. Who was next?
Was the killer only killing one person at a time?
Why was Felicity targeted?
Lucian tapped his pen thoughtfully. He just couldn't make sense of it all.
"...do you have any ideas on who it might be among us?" Lucian asked.
From the surface, of course, Artemis and Mei came across as suspicious. One of them being rather careless and rude about the whole business, which, of course, could still be the traits of an innocent. One of them rather... Sporadic, teasing, almost sadistic and cruel.
Lucian shook his head. Because of the number of assumptions you had to make here, it could make anyone seem suspicious or innocent. So just who could it be?... He just couldn't piece it together.
