I assume this answer will just be "You're really unlucky sorry" but on the off chance it's not...Besides the good rod do I need anything to catch a Shellder at the beach? Like does bait attract them at all? I only wonder because I've caught about 200 pokemon first available with the good rod now. And none of them have been Shellder. I covet that next rod but it seems forever out of the reach of my sticky little fingers.

Sadly you don't need anything else aside from the good rod. No bait will help you with it, it's just very rare
