I read the Wiki, as well as FAQ, closed questions, etc. Apologies if I missed the answer in any of those.

I'm having trouble understanding the benefit of the berrygarden if the berries that are grown can't be used to feed Pokemon for EXP. Is the berry garden mainly a mini game feature or at some point is there a way to grow berries you feed to Pokemon?

I also know berries improve your interaction rewards. Maybe because I'm still new and don't have a lot of Pokedollars, when I buy berries to feed Pokemon, it's always at a loss. Does this improve as I play the game more? I feel atm it takes me 1-3 days to reach 10k. I have both an EXP share and the item that doubles your Pokedollars when interacting, but I still find myself at a 2k-3k loss of Pokedollars when buying and using all the berries on Pokemon when interacting.

As an example, I bought Hondew Berries, Mago Berries, Magost Berries. I'm unable to make seeds of them in the Berrygarden Tool Shed and they don't show up as a buying option in the berrymarket. Does that mean the only way I can obtain those berries is by buying them at the mall? I see I can grow oran, figy, and bluk berries on the farm, so I know I can save a little Pokedollars there.

EDIT: My garden level wasn't high enough to access all berries or access the Berry Bag for transfering berries to and from my inventory. I got to Gardener Level 5 and now have access to the Berry Bag and I can now see I need to level up my Garden level to access certain berries.

Around 9 months ago or so.. that process has been changed.

According to this forum post..

You're able to transfer your berries from your berry bag back to your regular item bag.

Their level resets back to 1 in this process.

However, higher level berries convert into more berries in this transfer.

There are some berries I don't have the option to grow. For example, I have Persim Berries I bought from the mall. But when I go to my Tool Shed to make seeds, it's not an option to make Persim Berry seeds and there's option to buy the seeds in the berry market. Does that mean I can never grow Persim Berries or at some point as I level up I can?

Worth noting you need to transfer the berries from the item bag to the berry bag before you can grow them. Otherwise you need to unlock them by leveling up

For buying Seeds and Berries at the berry market, you need to have their "BerryDex" entry (Level of berries do matter here). If you buy Berries at the Mall/Item Shop/Item Market, you have to transfer them to the Berry Bag in the Berry Garden first. Only Berries in your Berry Bag can be transformed into Seeds

Thank you for the info! I think the issue is I don't know if I have a Berry Bag TT_TT The wiki doesn't explain how to get one. I still have the last tab in the berry garden locked (Shows up as "???") so maybe that's the problem I'm running into.

Edit: I'm the dummy...I do have a Berry Bag OTL But some berries don't show up in it for me that I purchased at the mall. For example, I bought Hondew Berries, Mago Berries, Magost Berries and they don't show up in my berry bag when I go to make seeds. So at the moment, they are only obtainable through the mall. I don't see an option in my inventory under the berry tab to transfer them? Am I supposed to or is that the tool shed/seed maker tab?

I think, as BlackReshiram said, I might need to level up my gardening skill to unlock other the ability to make seeds from certain berries such as Hodew, Mago, Magost? I'm level 4 gardener. I also don't see the option to transfer berries as described here(I know the post is from 2019 and the update is 2022, but in the '22 update I don't see anything about how to actually transfer berries <-> inventory):

The option to transfer your berries should be right at the bottom of the berry garden page
