The children gathered around the kneeling, chained form of a man. Glowing silver shackles bound him to the scorched, shadowy earth. His hair was long, but he still remained handsome, with his golden-brown hair and an energetic, mischievous glint in his scarlet eyes. he had been imprisoned for... god knows how long. yet, the chained man's laugh was still loud, warm and boisterous.
"Of course, children. Now... where do we start? Ah yes..."

It was a bright, sunny summer day in the city of G R A Y.
In this city, somewhere deep below the surface of the earth... There was a hidden refuge. It was a large cavern, housing hundreds of those who have come to be known as...

"villains."

A tall man stared at the mirror in his room. He was well built, with wide shoulders, a thin, but muscular, frame, with spiked brown hair and a scar over the right side of his mouth, which was always twisted in a snarky grin. His eyes were scarlet, glinting with energy and excitement. This was Kendo Sato, more commonly known as Abyss, the greatest Villain in the city.

"That's what we are."

His laugh was loud and boisterous. His voice, for being a chain smoker, was warm and cheerful.

He had recently gotten a cassette tape, which held video footage of a dead genetic scientist. it called for Unity. of course it did. All these goody-two shoes scientists all wanted peace.

He turned up the collar of his long coat, and smoothened his crumpled black shirt.

At that moment, a young girl burst into the 20 year old's room.

This young, short, platinum-blonde haired girl was Athena, a former hero-turned villain.

"Kendo... Did you know about this?"

Kendo's grin was wide as he flashed her his own cassette.

"Of course you did," she said with a sigh.

Kendo, silently, glided across the floor, to the exit.

"Where are you go-"

Kendo disappeared into the shadows, grinning, laughing.

On the streets of the city, Elucian aka. Luce, aka. Compass, a A+ ranked villain, wandered around. She had obtained a cassette tape as well, and was pondering the message contained in it, when, in a blink, Kendo was in step with her, facing her as he walked backwards.

"Heya, El!" He said, excitedly.

"Do I know you, weirdo? And besides, I've told you how many times to never call me El?"

Despite sounding annoyed, the blue-haired 18-year old wasn't actually annoyed.

"I suppose you'll be wondering if I got a tape as well? The answer is yes. And honestly it took me forever to rig a system that would actually play a damn VHS tape."

She let out a fake laugh, an attempt to put the people around them at ease. Despite her cold, dismissive answers, she wasn't actually annoyed. They were acquaintances, as all villains were. She and Kendo had pulled off a few big things in the past; fire, and thunder, and EM pulses were very hard to counter. He was one of the few that she actually had any loyalty to, one of the few that she would take some time to help, one of the few she had trusted with her given name. Even if he didn't even take the time to use it.

"I take it you've already spoken with Athena?"

"Absolutely! Of course!"

out of all the villains she could think of, there were only a few possible candidates. Obviously, there was Abyss and Athena, along with herself, but the few others she could think of included The White Foxglove, commonly known as simply "Foxglove" and Violet Hart, commonly known by her villain name, Combo.
