Kendo had broken down. He couldn't do it in the end. This was his fault. Jut because he was a stubborn, arrogant bastard. He sat there, next to the hanging rope, curled up.

something had snapped inside him. His friendly, cheerful attitude had been broken. It didn't matter to him anymore. He got up. He examined the rope.

He trudged through the mostly empty streets. Everyone was at work around now, being a little after noon. He sighed to himself. I shouldn't have said that, I could've just tried more... He said, mindlessly walking. I could've. I should've. All because I'm dumb...I'm an idiot.

He opened the doors to the coffee shop, flipping the sign to 'closed'. "Everyone. Out. Now. ... please."

Percy leaned against the wall, still feeling the sharp ache from his hip. "Waiting out a bruise, I always think of things that don't work." he scoffed, his vision starting to blur. He wasn't hungry, but he really needed something to drink, plus, the ache was starting to be a bit overwhelming.

"My name’s Milo. I’m a Gym Leader and rather partial to Grass-type Pokémon."

...he did it... After everyone was out he locked the door and practically fell to his knees sobbing. I really am just useless. I couldn't save him, I wasn't in time for all of them... I'll end up losing this place... I tried, I've tried, I've tried! "...i tried..."

Percy froze up a bit, hearing him, although... Something was wrong. He took a moment to think. Percy did feel like he was going to faint anytime but... He rummaged through his bag, taking out the last little bit of the bread piece. He didn't exactly finish but he honestly... He wanted to at least try to cheer him up. A small piece of bread wouldn't usually do the trick, but hey, it's worth a shot anyways.

"Let's see if I can do this before.. Well, before I collapse." Percy leaned against the wall to help him move, stumbling a bit.

"My name’s Milo. I’m a Gym Leader and rather partial to Grass-type Pokémon."

He hadn't noticed Percy yet. He could kind of hear him, but everything sounded so distant. So far. The conversation earlier had awakened the question in his own head.

What did he have to live for?

I could've stopped it, I could've stopped it years ago if I knew. ... I wish I could turn back time. Back to before this. Maybe not even open the coffee shop in the first place!

He hesitated momentarily. If this works, Percy would definitely be noticed again, and he didn't know how to take it. He shook his head. It was odd to have a bit of the bread left, but it was a safer way, to him at least, to try to get his attention.

Percy took another moment before tossing the bread piece his direction, wondering how this would turn out. He frowned slightly, genuinely worried.

"My name’s Milo. I’m a Gym Leader and rather partial to Grass-type Pokémon."

Theo saw a flicker of movement, how he could see it when he was bawling, he didn't know. He rubbed his eyes a bit, trying to get his vision to clear. A piece of food...on the floor..? Am I just seeing things? He glanced around for a minute, before noticing Percy.

He tensed up, slowly regretting his decision but shook his head. "Hi... I didn't mean to bother you but I saw the state you were in and-" Percy stammered, really unsure what to do. He winced again, eventually just dropping his bag, hoping to remove some weight to ignore the bruised hip, even for a short amount of time.

Kendo's limp body hung from the rope... but he wasn't dead. Why wasn't he dead yet? He wanted to die.The amount of force the rope had exerted on his neck should have made it snap. Why. Wasn't. he. Dead? A tear dripped down the side of his face. He didn't want to live. Living was so hard.
